Everyone should stop wasting time expressing their discontent.

Let's not pretend they care anymore. They gave us this sad excuse of an ending, after a magic button plot twist, on top of forsaking RPG elements for the casual shooter crowd. Three strikes, you're out.

They screwed up. Bad. They deserve the storm that's coming next week. I cancelled my pre-order, not going to waste time following Bioware anymore either.

If you're smart, do the same. If you enjoy half-worked on story lines with terrible endings, stay the course.

The worst part to me is how they've already started cowering behind the forum rules, and making justifications on twitter instead of taking the verbal thrashing they deserve. Take it like developers, so when Mass Effect 9: Modern Space Warfare comes out, you can at least manage to not alienate the casual shooter fanbase too.

I don't see why people are so surprised, they never promised us a happy ending. In fact, they outright said it wouldn't happen, it's even in the known features thread under Dev Promises.

" Mass Effect 3 will not end like a traditional war story (Kick enemies ass, proceed to celebrations/calibrations)[PS3M] "

Yeah, lack of a happy ending we can deal with. Marooned/starvation/inbreeding as a byproduct of every outcome is just plain sadistic.

I'm going to laugh if all these leaked scripts turn out to be a troll. Seriously you people make decisions of how the game is based on leaked scripts? Come on bioay have changed a few thing but we will see. Unless anyone have the video footage of the endings ill consider this another troll thread.

We are making decisions on whether or not to keep preorders. At least I am. If these turn out to be troll ends, then I would be more than ecstatic to eat my own words.

I'm with Alpha on this.  It especially sucks that my wife bought me the CE as a Christmas present she knew I'd love.  But the only thing which would suck WORSE than having this crap ending forced upon us is paying extra for it and having it be in any kind of collector's edition.  I realize that I'm setting myself up for a big DOH!!! if it turns out Bioware is pulling a smart one and the "good" endings come as a Day 1 patch, I would have missed out on all the CE stuff.  But I'd rather risk missing out than risk being played a fool.

I make this promise, that if it does turn out there is a reasonably good ending (defined by me, as I have been envisioning all along) as a show of humility I will buy that From Ashes DLC which I have sworn not to given what I think they are trying to pull with it.  Just as a way of saying, sorry for not trusting you.  Anyone want to place odds on that happening?

You can, but its more like DAO. There is no post game, it shoots you back to the save before the final mission

I haven't seen proof of these endings, so until there is footage, its nothing but a speculation, or assumption.

It's hard to see proof if you have your eyes closed, idiot:

That's not an ending, idiot.  That's a brief, static cutscene from one of the endings.  It doesn't confirm anything except that some colorful **** can happen to the mass relays, and that the Normandy and Joker can get exploded.

But then I don't have a problem with the mass relays being destroyed, because it makes sense and was hinted at on more than one occasion in the previous games.  You know, what with galactic civilization developing along the pathways reapers desire and Aethyta thinking that the asari should really build their own relays.  The mass relays are inherently reaper tech.  If the reapers go, the relays go.

I agree with you on all your points. It makes sense for everything else and i don't care about it. I just want a happy ending for my shep. I find it extremely hard to believe they would give us all sad endings.

One of the editors forgot to take their happy pills.

I dont have an issue with them getting stranded on candy island its just the whole mass relays that blow up that get me i.e super novas destroying life wich is the same as the reaper ending practically.

You can, but it sets you back to a time before the end game.  So you'll officially be playing in limbo.

If the only way he can make art is to make everyone sad, then he's not a very good artist.

Van Gogh's Blue Period.

That was damn depressing and good, but Bioware is in no way van Gogh.

Van Gogh's Starry Night

Amazingly beautiful and inspirational for some reason to me.

It hasn't been confirmed that they starve to death, In fact it's not even been confirmed that the Normandy crashes.

If I had a CE, I would understand the temptation to keep it. I, however, am a poor college student can can only afford the standard edition, so it make's $5 worth of difference if I decide to wait and buy it on day one.

Argh, damn, it was Picaso's Blue Period, but van Gogh had a similar period, just that's more of an unofficial name for it.

Stupid me...

I have decided that I want an artistic happy ending. No longer just a less sucky one, but a real live happy ending.

I want Rainbow Randolph and Smoochy to come out dancing and singing.
I want fireworks and ewoks playing drums on reaper parts.
I want the Asari matriarch council member to give my shep a lapdance in thanks for saving everyone.
I want Miranda and Ashley to oil wrestle to see who gets shep, and finally agree both do.
I want the Quarians to jump out of their armor and Garrus and Tali do a song and dance routine to Grease.

yeah. A real happy ending.

Dont forget Medieval Font saying And they lived happily ever after. The End

Art is about opening someone's eyes to a new way of seeing something. Sadness is only one way... And it would stand out all the more if there was a not-so-sad ending where Shep and the crew/LI stayed together.

Do I beleive...why yes. I think, I do.
Ladies and Gentelmen I think I know whats going on.
TTTTTTTTTTTRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

What we are witnessing is Biowares feint against the pirates.

http://www.cracked.c...th-pirates.html

There's the reference.

You pirate the game, YOU GET NOTHING, YOU LOSE!  GOOD DAY SIR.
Meanwhile Bioware is feeding into Xio's statments with their silent consent.  Not to mention that that is a blatant NDA  violation.  They are torturing us for wanting to know ahead of time how it can end.

I've killed lies like this on the way to real problems.

At least I hope.  And to you cynics that hate on people like me.  The only thing you got is hearsay and 2nd hand vids.  And if you want to beleive in the Internet you go right ahead.

So we're sure there's nothing after the Rave Disco Lights of Doom and the Normandy crashing? No Origin'esque power point presentation epilogue? If so I don't think it'd be very hard for a modder to make and add one.

I have to agree with you. Even though i do not personally like the possible leaked endings, I do not really think it is going to cost BW much. It cost them my money, but that is such a small amount they wont even notice it. they made a decision to end the series on a dark note for you and your crew, and that is thier choice. I can voice my displeasure, but in the end....it really does not matter.

Xtorma I agree with you in the SHORT term.  You can always fool gamers into buying something ONCE.  After that, the quality of your product (coupled with the promises you made about it) determines if they trust you a second time around.  Anyone think DA3 is going to get nearly as many pre-orders as DA2 did, which built off DA:O (which was awesome)?  I doubt it, I think you'll see everybody adopt a "wait and see" mentality after getting burned like that no matter HOW much they try to hype that in DA3 they incorporated all of the lessons learned from DA2.  Same thing here, they have tons of pre-orders for ME3 based on the success of ME2 and people wanting to know how it ends, but if this turns out the way it looks that trust will be broken and whatever follow-up product they're planning won't do nearly as well as people will remember being burned by this.
