If those are the endings then whatever, I'm still going to play. However, I have a really hard time believing that those are the only endings for ME3. Bioware can't be that dumb to not realize how much people are invested in this game to just say ok the Normandy crashes somewhere random, Shepard is stranded or whatever. Your decisions don't matter yada yada yada. Until I actually play this game and attempt to get the ending I want then I won't believe these leaked videos and spoilers are it. Here's hoping...
BOML I was once optimistic like you, then I saw this interview today with Mac Waters. Pay attention to the highlighted part.

This interview with Walters just came out, look at what he says about how the story is written with regards to the whole "choices" thing.
RipTen: Throughout the series, there have been numerous memorable main and side quests where Shepard must make a critical decision. How did you decide which of these past choices would come back to help/haunt the Commander in Mass Effect 3? What kind of repercussions can players expect from their actions beyond the major plot points. We’re pretty sure the Rachni Queen and Collector Base decisions will affect the story, but what about those side quests?
MW: Most of the choices, and certainly the critical ones, will be reflected in Mass Effect 3 to some degree. The real work comes in trying to decide just how much each choice will impact Commander Shepard. If we addressed every choice with equal weight, we’d end up creating nothing more than a customized cutscene of all your past choices. But each game needs to stand on its own, with its own unique story, plots and choices. At the core, my job is to create a compelling framework for the story using the current status of the galaxy. Once that backbone is created, we can start to find ways to weave past choices and their consequences in to the story… to flesh out the main plot. But first and foremost, the core story has to be amazing. It has to blow you away, regardless of the different possibilities. That way, we can more certain that every possible version of the story is one that people will love, and hopefully remember for a long time to come.
......I......don't even know what to say

I'm a long time lurker and long time avoider of participation of anything that goes on around here due to the crapfest that normally ensues. However .this post forced me to actually log on and *gasp* post.
Good grief. Seriously? You are taking issue with the bolded text? You are finding fault with the writers' desire to try to incorporate "past choices and their consequences" into the game once the core, the backbone, the nuts and bolts of the game have been created?
He isn't saying they are actively trying to ignore, skip, bypass, work around these "past choices and their consequences" here.
You must be confusing past with pass.
One begins to wonder just how misconstrued these leaks have been if one person can misunderstand what Mac Walters has stated in an interview.
Hell. Anything not seen/heard in the right context can be misconstrued/misunderstood. It doesn't help matters at all when some random person gets on their soap box on youtube to expound on what they think should be the correct way of making a game. It further doesn't help when that youtube user formulates their erroneous "ideas" on snippets posted. It helps even less when that youtube user goes on a tirade on how game content was cut, therefore you are not getting a complete game.
On another point, if a person only focuses on the end result, what was the point of the journey? Oh, that's right, it is to get to the end and get our reward. Oh yes. We should be rewarded for being good boys/girls for successfully completing the journey. Give me that million dollar payoff. Don't you dare give me a lump of coal. I'm a loyal customer and have been with company x, y, z from day one and have paid x amount of money on games made by that company. I am therefore entitled to get what I want. Give me, give me, give me. What I want is what I want. What you want to give me is not what I want. I don't care what you say as it is all PR crap. I don't care about what you want, it is what I want. Give me now. Give me my sunshine and rainbows because i deserve it. I deserve it because I played your games from beginning to the end and spent zillions of hours getting immersed and caring about the world and the inhabitants you've crafted. Give me my pot of gold or I will turn on you.
Seriously, what sort of mentality is that?
Shouldn't the journey be the reward as the destination isn't always pleasant? In other words, look at the bigger picture. Look around you and see everything and not just the end result. What's the saying? "Life is a journey and not a destination.' If you're only focusing on the destination then you're only focusing on death. Everyone dies in the end.
Buy the game or don't. Play the game or don't. Formulate your own opinion based on playing the game yourself.
Oh yes. Opinions are like @ssholes. Everyone's got one. Why should your opinion matter more than Biowares? After all. They are the ones who created the Mass Effect universe. We are merely participants in a game where they have allowed us to influence the choices found in the game to a certain degree. Ultimately, it is their story of Commander Shepard that they are trying to tell. Not your individual story that they want to tell. Theirs from a mere idea/concept to fruition and end.
Anyway, I've digressed and rambled on enough...
