I'm starting to see a new trend here too now. It's like the political scandals that are investigated and you start peeling back the layers of the onion.
The Wall Street Journal didn't review the same copy of Mass Effect 3 as we bought.

I really do suspect that, as more and more publications realize THEY were spoon-fed the game reviews, that we'll see more and more backlash.
Guess it goes to show that Honesty is still the best policy. I'm so so happy to see other companies now redirecting focus to ensure that they don't ruin their games/reputations, I'm happy to see that what was becoming a waterfall of rarely accurate miracle-cure advertising from ALL the publishers is now drying up and legitimate professional marketing of features is taking over.
I've noticed the main gaming publications have mainly gotten silent now as well. Rather than bad mouth major advertisers they're just holding their tongue which tells me they're upset and it will show in the future. The only people calling us whiners now are the amateur journalists and student journalists who are trying to show their 'professional skill' to their colleagues in the industry.. sadly they don't realize that their colleagues are all just as upset as the rest of us, but can't talk about it due to their publications' commercial interests.

For everyone who's freaking out over the Mega 64 video, just don't worry about it. They have a somewhat abrasive sense of humor and if you've watched any of their other videos, they're all about rubbing people the wrong way to get some laughs out of it. I highly doubt this was a real attempt to insult us... well actually it probably was, but that's kinda their thing.
Just shrug it off. Unless someone actually takes the time to find out the real reasons why we're upset, comes up with an intelligent argument, and doesn't simply use insults, don't give them a second thought. A the saying goes: don't argue with an ignorant person... or they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It reminds me of being at University as a grad student and TAing a class where some sophomore major constantly raises their hand with questions geared toward the sole purpose of trying to make the professor look like a fool - when in the end everyone in the class thinks they are an ass and their "points" reflect nothing but their relative lack of intelligence.

Haven't watched it, won't give them satisfaction of a 'click'. Let's stop posting the link so they don't get any more 'fuel'. We need to just ignore this stuff and concentrate on what's important.
