If you want to be a don you got to change tactics.
I wasn't aware I was becoming a don... shadow broker maybe... bah.. now I'm gonna have to go get myself a Carnifex now.
PS go with the scorpion the fact that its rounds explode means a bit more brain blowing ability.

I tried that one out, I find a pistol that you shoot and have to wait for the results gives too much time for them to shoot back lol.

"I do think that maintaining the internal logic of a game's narrative is very important when you're dealing with such a story-heavy series as Mass Effect, especially when you're able to carry-over your character. Anything that breaks that and your players do have a right to be a little pissed."
Exactly this. Space magic to the extent that the ending used was just not right in the narrative. And the StarChild... ugh. At least some people in the industry can come out and say it was a bad move (even if they admittedly haven't played it yet).

Agree with you 1000% percent. In trying to appeal as many gamers as possible they lost sight of what made Mass Effect so unique: player choice. In ME1 and ME2 your choices, your moral inclinations, and so and so forth determined the ending. It was a great formula! Why throw that out the window with a poorly written ending that goes against established concepts and breaks story coherence?Debi-Tage wrote...
BW is busy trying to be everything to everybody...it just never works out. You always end up spreading yourself too thin somewhere. They should have just stuck to the original game plan...
Now the ending isn't the only issue. Dialogue trees wer simplified way too much and you get fewer chances to actually interact with your love interests and squadmembers through said dialogue trees. Instead Bioware decided to implement the Zaaed/Kasumi system from ME2. When on the Normandy you would press the A button only to extract a line or two of dialogue. That to me isn't interactive, at least not by the standard set by the last two games...

Nice! This is from a series writer that really pushed the envelope in gaming too. Not everyone 'got' Mirrors Edge. I enjoyed it, it pushed a bunch of envelopes.

See, this "it's the journey, not the destination" thing is completely situational. I just played Journey (on the PS3), and obviously a game called Journey is going to be about the journey, and I thought it was the most beautiful thing. But in Mass Effect, we spent the entirety of three games trying to accomplish one goal, and that's to stop the Reapers. We build up all this expectation, with all these choices and the ability to see the consequences, only to have it squandered. Sure, I enjoyed my time along the way, but the sh*tty destination at the end was such a slap in the face.

Agree, i found that very disapoiting myself. They were not very chatty at all and that was not just the crew but also in the open world, the citadel for example. It just felt much more like an FPS game than an RPG in me3. Many things seemed to be shorted out for what ever reasons they might have had. I want to have a real talk with my crewmembers and not simply get some lines thrown at me and throw some back myself without even getting any choice what so ever. That's just sad. Mass effect never was just about the action and the fighting. I mean i liked those parts very much but the roleplaying stuff i liked just as much. going around, chatting with my crew, learning about them. I mean how many of us spent time in the shadowbroker base reading the files on our crew members and hell even watching the videos of the spycam.
In me3 a lot of cool stuff was just missing, i would have wished for more permanet crew members too. I thought it was a real shame seing how much members i had in me2. might add as well that nobody from me2 acutally sticked around with me. I mean its not like at the beginning of me2 where you were dead for so long and everyone moved on. it has only been a few month but everyone seemed to have moved on and doenst care about joining you anymore. And those who do, well they dont stay long, do they

I agree with you too! It's nice to find someone who is like minded once in a while. I've been looking around in the forums and i rarely see people mention how simplified ME3 is. Yes the the endings were terrible, but they weren't the only issues...

I also thought I'd share a link here. It's an article which explains why there is such a disparity between the critical reception of ME3 and user reception:

Found that myself earlier too, didn't post it though, thanks! It's actually a really good article..
I posted a few pages back earlier this evening as well on some new information that came to light... things such as the review copies were not the exact same as the retail copies. Wall Street Journal pointed that out in one of their articles. My post was more on the seemingly harsher tone from the mainstream media now.

No, that has been talked about here but like 500 pages back. I remember because it was one of my personal pet peeves about the entire ME3 experience. They were slowly taking away player agency and replacing it with...well, automated dialogue. It really peeved me and made me feel more like I was watching Sheps life instead of actively participating.
BOOO!

Another random question. If the starchild's home was the Citadel, and the Reapers were the starchild's "solution", couldn't starchild just activate the Citadel on it's own, and let the Reapers in? Why would Sovereign be even needed?
Ahm...plothole?
Dude, don't worry about the ending. It's all about Space Magic
Just thought of this, actually, but if the "Catalyst's solution" to synthetics destroying all organics was to kill off/preserve the DNA of the most advanced species, why didn't it just have the Reapers destroy all synthetics, keeping the organics alive?

Hello, all. Anyone care to update me on our situation for the last few days, or are we all still waiting for PAX? Also, anyone know how the cupcake movement went over with BioWare?
We have fleets massing at the Charon Relay. We await the PAX peace conference results and hope that we may stand down and return to our homes. Should, however, peace fail, we all know our duty, and we shall hold the line, nay, we shall push the line and drive the barbarians from our games!
