So we can't get the ending we want after all?

You're quite right. ME2's Arrival DLC was pretty half-arsed in my opinion, but provided plot-crucial information for ME3 so it should have been included in ME2. Awakenings was a decent expansion pack (bought in-store and not downloaded as a DLC) and worth every dollar I paid for it by expanding upon my Warden's story.Lord Costantino wrote...

Hmm. It does seem like these DLCs are just getting worse and worse. A few years ago, I had no problem with buying an expansion pack for a game I liked because I knew it'd be a new game in itself. Now, these DLCs are hardly worth the price charged. And I certainly won't be supporting any precedent that involves things that should have been included in the game being sold separately. Day-1 DLC was bad enough, though I got mine "free" with the Collector's Edition of ME3.
Hold the line, folks.
DLCs are getting worse because they are not "expansions" to the game anymore. DLCs now are stuff that would have been in the game but they took it out so that they can charge us more money. Real DLC is expanding the game by a few hours or adding something worth buying. Now it is just crap they decided to put half the effort into or like I said ripped it off the main product to then sell to us later.<_< Real DLC is things like Dragon Age: Origins Awakening, it adds something.

Way I figure is that they didn't have time to finish it the first time, they rushed it out the door, so I'm willing to pay for the extra dev time... However, because they've been craptastic actually admitting that I'd appreciate they just released it for free since they're pleading some artistic integrity crap.
I'm not willing to pay extra for them running out of time and selling a crappy, effectively incomplete game.
If people do that, then EA will say, "Gee, we can cut dev time for the main title and get em on paid DLC later that will complete things and we'll make even more money!".
I wont pay anything, even if they put out DLC that would give me the exact ending I imagined I'd get. I won't support that sort of tactic by rewarding them for this whole disaster.
I paid for what should have been a complete game already, not going to pay more for what should have been there in the first place.
Like I said, just my feelings on it. I realize most will gobble up any paid DLC they put out to "fix" this mess and in the long run it's only hurting us all, but most aren't willing to go without to really make a stand and hit EA where it hurts the most.
Still can't wait to see what happens at PAX. Hope someone gets it all on tape.
I understand your view... considering they had an extra year to work on ME2, and didn't run around telling anyone who would listen grossly inaccurate statements about it, and then charged the same price, they can obviously afford it to be free.
Assuming they fix it though, I will still be a fan of them, and am fine paying for it..
I got thinking today about why they were so adamant about killing off Shepard... Microsoft would never dare kill off Master Chief... then I realized about the tension when Bungie stopped making the Halo series and the other companies were brought into it. I honestly wonder if this may be a bit of "You're not touching our story Electronic Arts"... it would make sense.. considering Bioware's now doing what was originally Westwood's Command & Conquer series. I really hope the 'artistic integrity' isn't a studio vs parent company that has dragged the fanbase/continuity into it though. That would make me really sad.

I will admit LoTSB was also fun but it took me 8-12 hrs to download it.ME3 Demo was 11hrs and 40 min. This is another reason I will never play multiplayer,my net connection stinks.I'd rather buy the physical copy.
I agree. Physical copies are always better and you don't have to worry about losing them on your profile or computer. I prefer them any day. I've also found that multiplayer is better on the consoles than computer as well, especially my PS3 'cause it's free.
And LoTSB was also a decent DLC. Better than Arrival, which I thought seemed pretty half-arsed and, with plot-crucial information, should have been included in ME2. I won't even comment about the Day-1 DLC.

ME2's DLC Arrival wasn't to bad because it was to explain and in sense prepare us for the Reapers and how difficult it would be. That was made so much later then the game itself. Now DLC like "From Ashes" was BS along with Wardens Keep. I better not have to buy an ending and if they want me to...it better be substantial, long, and cheap price. If not...then ME3 is the last thing I buy from Bioware and EA.
*Edit*
Best DLC I ever bought was the Shivering Isles for Oblivion. After that I will pay for any DLC Bethesda releases because of the respect I have for them for making an ACTUAL DLC.

It seemed completely unbiased. It brought up the face import issue, the ending, and previous squadmate interactions as negatives, while praising the story. They also mentioned the addition of a bit more RPG elements, however stated that it wasn't as fleshed out as they would have liked. Also, it was done by Tom a.k.a. Steven Blum (a.k.a. Grunt, for those that don't know), which is always a plus.

They also released Horse Armour, arguably the worst DLC ever as well haha.
They learnt from that though, and they took responsibility for it, heck they even turned it into a joke marketing thing on the 360. The "Everything Oblivion Half Off Except Horse Armor which is Twice as much" sale lol.
Now they joked about it in Skyrim pre-interviews.

Ohh, that's pretty cool. And yeah - kind of sad, really, to think how accurate that summary is, and yet how rare it is to actually hear the game described like that in 'professional' reviews, rather than reading a lot of fluff about nothing.

Thats why I like them more, THEY ADMIT THEIR MISTAKE...hope your reading this Bioware instead of coming up with the "art" bs defense...honestly if Bioware came out and admit to a mistake none of this Movement would have truely gotten huge and their reputation wouldn't be so tarnished. That's why on my scale Bethesda ranks so much higher then Bioware now, Bioware admits a mistake and Bethesda makes fun of their mistake and improves themselves...they didn't try to use an "artistic" stance because they were making a game for profit and for their fans.

I wholeheartedly agree. "From Ashes" is the Day-1 DLC, and was BS like you said. Should have been included in-game since Javik's dialogue was involved in every mission unlike Zaeed and Kasumi in ME2. Warden's Keep was completely 'blah' to me and is the reason I never quite got around to buying the other DLCs for Dragon Age: Origins.
My Shivering Isles DLC was included with my GoTY edition of Oblivion, and it was great. I've never laughed so hard in my life at some of the stuff involved. Lord Sheogorath teleporting my poor character to his doom and falling to his death? Helping a suicidal guy along in his endeavor? Priceless. And some of those outfits... Don't get me started.

I honestly get there are a lot more office politics in this than we're seeing unfortunately. I doubt you're going to see that, heck I doubt we're ever going to get a true admission that they ran out of time.

We won't because corps are not in it to make the customer happy it "How much money are we going to get out of them with little to no effort...or completely screw them over." mentality and Bioware I thought was one of the last companies that didn't do this...well turns out I am wrong because, you know, the ending to ME3 and the game DA2. DA2 may have seemed like a good idea but Hawke should have his OWN trilogy and the Warden Commander his own trilogy. I may be one of the only people who HATES that the Mages are being freed. I think it's stupid to get rid of such a great story element. Give that it's own trilogy to unfold and have Hawke be the center of it with depth. With the Warden Commander have his trilogy would have been awesome with one of the MANY endings being him/her going on "their" Calling.
*Edit*
I may not be the most original creator type person but I can expand on already exsisting lore. What they are doing to the DA franchise is just wrong and the ME3 ending should have been better.

Yep, my favorite track, but have to listen in small doses and not often. It's a depressing track already and I suffer from severe depression. Couple that with how bad ME3 was and it's a recipe for bad things.
Beautiful piece of music though, elegant and powerful.
