Sure it LOOKS like it. But it clearly doesn't show it. I'm just wondering. Maybe everyone isn't doomed?

Still extremely miss leading... Speculation for everyone right?

Ah ha ha, touché, my friend. Speculation indeed.

It is different from the destroy ending since it cuts away earlier, that's for sure. We can speculate why =]

I finally just finished mass effect 30 minutes ago.
I can’t seem to make a coherent post now. Wasn’t there a hug thread somewhere?

I have no idea what they are upto, but if this was some kind of PR stunt, I hope they got plenty of space magic up their sleeves, they are going to need it.

Yes they are. Even though i would prefer it to be PR stunt. I can live and deal with company that uses different tactics and strategies even if they fire back sometimes.

But I won't deal with company that makes stupid, unplanned, chaotic moves, whose results hit me hard, even in emotional terms, because if they did it once, they'll do it again sooner or later....

I'm sure they follow carefully prepared PR/marketing plan.

"Sits back in chair after falling from laughter";...oh you were not joking, sorry, my bad.

I was not joking Mr. Bond, because alternate explanation is this - they deliberately destroyed franchise, pissed of fanbase and made customers to carefully choose whether they buy Bioware's products again.

I imagine that they were taken aback by the scale of outcry, but not the outcry itself. And why maintain silence? I just do not believe they are using antic roman "turtle" tactics, if You know what I mean.

There is another alternative...they really did think what they had done was good. They most likely didn't see it as destroying the franchise or upsetting the fanbase. I know it's hard to believe that someone could be that stupid, but lets face it, we see this sort of idoitic thinking all the time in the real world (work, politics, sports...).

Can anyone confirm the relays actually blowing up on the control ending? They look like they're going to, but when you really look at it they aren't show actually exploding like in the other endings. What gives? Is control actually the best considering the relays may not actually explode and the Citadles intact?

Either way I still don't like it, just curious because there may actually be a decent ending for the universe as a whole, not just Shepard.

Yeah, they still blow up, here's a link to a video:

You can see it happen at around 3:15 to 3:21. It definitely looks like it's gonna go kaboom, even if you don't see the pieces flying afterwards.

Still Shepard is dead and the reaper thread is only delayed.
No win.

Just try not to catch Mass Effectitis from me, it's not fun at all.

Has there been any good April Fools attempts here while I was offline?

I would be careful with that "sleep" thing.

After finishing ME 3 I had problems with nightmares and didn't sleep that well :crying:

I also hope that after PAX we will know a bit more about Bioware decision regarding the endings. Until that, I am still here with all of you holding the line.
Regarding the endings, there is two things I wish:
- of course that the new DLC fixes the issues we all discuss about (plot holes, no possibility in having a happy end, no real impact of our choices...)
- I would like the possibility to reach the best endindings without multiplayer: I like sometimes playing an oldies (for instance suikoden on playstation 1) and I am sure that if I like the new endings I will replay several times ME serie now and even in some years. I am also pretty sure that EA ME3 server will be down when I will do that.

I don't think there were any.

Chris Priestly warned on his tweeter that there will be nothing from Bioware, so even if somebody planned something nobody would fall for that I guess.

Was that the 'you could make a purple ending dlc - no thank you, ivaluemylife' thingy?
Well, I got few chuckles out of that one, so it may count still.

It just shows the magnitude of emotions this game invokes, doesn't it?

And to ruin it all with just 5 minutes at the end :crying:

Bioware would be praised for years to come if they delivered what was promised. Instead parents may start to scare children with them...

Yep, that was it.

But that "purple ending" joke (which was rather funny) was before the statement.

I for one do not plan to bother with anything - be it good or bad - that comes today.

Heh, anyone else noticed Blizzards April fools day jokes.. a new portable game.. Called Starcraft: Supply Depot!

In the features of this fantastic new game they have listed one as:
- Multiple endings, each influenced by your choices and color-coded for your convenience! (Further epic endings planned for post release as downloadable content.)

Hmm, I might try some more MP. At first I was worried some people might think Leroy Jenkins is still funny, especially given the date, then I realised I'm a mediocre gamer playing with Silver level pugs, so I really couldn't tell the difference between April Fools gaming and your everyday lone-hero-helpme-ragequit vanguard anyhow >_>

That, and I'm currently at my folk's, and mom hasn't yet had enough opportunities to complain about me being on computer.

Man it's not only Blizzard doing stuff like that the guys who made Minecraft are as well.

Also I notice tonight just getting on multi for a lark? the quality of teams on bronze levels has /crashed/ so hard core it's silly. I think there was 4 wipes in a row before one actual full clear.

OH MY GOD. This is the greatest game ever! I love the animation of the guy with the intestines on the right side. And you can play the whole thing at the bottom
