What if the crucible functioned as an massive emp temporarily disabling the reapers giving the possibility to destroy them.

The way I have it in my rewrite, the crucible, instead of disabling the barriers temporarily, it disables them permanently, evening out the playing field/making things easier like with sovereign so fighting them conventionally is possible because even without barriers they'd still be pretty dangerous

In mine, it's a trap. It was designed by the Reapers to bring every race together so they could be dealt with easily. And Indoctrination is Harbinger making one last Hail Mary because he knows that these races lead by the Humans have a pretty good chance of kicking their rear ends.

Lol yep, I got my similar idea from watching Independence Day like I said earlier, was probably the first thing that came to my mind when I thought of alternate crucible uses, good to see others thought along the same lines/im not alone, I like your temporarily/permanently disable their mass effect cores idea btw

If only we had an option of 'save the galaxy' like that.... Instead, we get endings that are all equally terrible, but in different colors. Stupid space magic.

But see, Space Magic  is Space Magic  because the colors do not correspond with paragon/renegade. It's part of the whole proble- I meant beauty of the ending. Gotta make sure to ignore all the other color patterns used before and create a new one, including introducing a whole new color: green!

Oh, yes, very true. You see, this is why I am so disappointed that they didn't have orange and purple endings. The blue/red makes you think they correspond with paragon/renegade. Purple would've been so pretty

Eh. BioWare might as well have made all the endings brown. As in the color of BS.

Purple/Orange DLC will be announced at PAX.  Stop acting so entitled! You'll get your DLC when they're good and ready!

I can't wait till we get a better and newer endings that's not our three current choices.

You know, I've been expecting ME3 to end with everyone getting out alive, big explosion, bad guy gets killed, celebrations across the galaxy, etc. I really wish it could happen in the game.

Oh no no no. They had to stick with the primary colors on RGB color wheel. No purple color allowed.

Wait. In the past, we always had 3 options on the conversation wheel: top = paragon (blue), middle = neutral, bottom = renegade(red)
Does that mean middle one was green all along?

Good news. For unexplained reasons I booted up my copy of the original Mass Effect...and was able to play it. Yes! After three weeks being unable to so much as look at any game I now feel up to working my way, slowly, through the first Mass Effect. *Cheers self*

In the spirit of being positive, I'll also note something I picked up at the start of the game that on first impressions would seem to leave yet another planet-sized plot hole in ME3.

During the Anderson/Nihius talk at the start of the game Anderson references the Prothean ruins on Mars. He called it 'A small data cache'...not really the kind of place you'd expect to find the blue prints for a super weapon.
However, Bioware seems to have picked up on this and addressed it - in ME3 it is noted that they found a second room/facility/cache under the first one. It is this second cache where the plans were found.
So someone at BW was paying attention to the lore.

And that, my friend, is BioWare's definition of 'entitled.' *sarcasm* You are simply not enjoying the 'artistic integrity' of the game. *end sarcasm* I mean, seriously, what's so wrong with having everyone survive and watching your Shep reunite with their LI, retire to the Normandy or some resort someplace, and live out the rest of their days on the royalties gathered from the vids, just like Garrus said? Why does everyone have to die or be screwed over in all the endings?

*sigh* I was expecting what you said, too, and was totally surprised when my Shep singlehandedly screwed the galaxy over. Hopefully, PAX will rectify that and restore my faith in BioWare. My fingers are crossed...
