oooooooooooooook seems some people took my post personally,
i dident know about the "bil" thing untill i actually posted the last message going through the 2700 odd pages looking for something but i saw a reoccuring pattern of people jumping down other peoples throats for liking the endings.

and now the some of the RME3 people are now turning on there own, i'm sorry but this thread started out civil and now its heading down a troll route against its own.

i dident point at certain people and say "you started this" or "you suck" or "tell me how" its now gotten to a point where your now picking on each other.

if this keeps on going i can see a mod shutting this thread down hard and then deleting it, in the past 100 or so pages i have started to see personal attacks on other forum users and using this very thread as cover.

i have recived some personal attacks on myself in private messages, which i forwarded to mods due to the content in said messages. (racist remarks directed at me, threats and so on).

so if you want to get this thread locked then keep on going the way you are, there are some good people here who are trying there hardest to keep this thread on the line by holding the line, BUT some are now taking it to a diffrent level which CAN lead to actual origin bans or MP bans.

so please, continue attacking ourself's

i can still hold the line but i do have a finite patence

to the people who support RME keep on holding and keep it real and most of all KEEP IT CIVIL

*sigh*
If you have beef with someone's post, please quote it, or use PM.
General 'u mad?' style is not the best option, since it makes the intended recipient very, very unclear. Also, a minor personal reguest, could you please capitalise a bit? I understand this is an informal forum, and I respect that, but your messages are hard to read.

And as for the content of your message: maybe I have been lucky, but I haven't witnessed personal attacks, something bordering rudeness twice or thrice maybe, but nothing worse. I don't see how we are 'attacking ourselves'. If some users have been abusive towards you via PMs, you did the right thing to report them, but I still don't think you should generalise such actions on the majority of the users in this thread. While such attacks are not acceptable under any circumstances, some of your messages do seem a bit hostile and rude too, so maybe there has been some misunderstanding as well.

Thanks for the links. There's that word again...whiners. Image IPB

I also noticed that she hasn't finished the game. Which is about right for someone in the media going off the deep end with Retake Mass Effect it seems.

And the whole bit where she plans to seduce...herself..? Image IPB

Some of us appear to have forgotten what it means to stand on the line.  Let me refresh our collective memories with the important parts.

We do not ask that you agree with our movement, we will fight for you regardless, for a better ending.

We will defend ourselves, but we will also defend those who disagree with us.. no one deserves to be attacked.

We will be civil to each other, and more importantly to those who disagree with us.

We will not allow ourselves to be dragged into flame wars, and if we start to catch fire we will be reminded by our fellow soldiers of the line what we are here for.

----
The preceeding was laid down back in the early days of this movement..  You can find it if you look back in the thread far enough though I've paraphrased the exact wording for clarity to this situation.

If you want to hold the line with us, you hold it WITH us.  If you spread vitriol, you are not with us, you are against us.  Hate the ending, don't hate the people.

But as Mr. Bond and Cybermortis pointed out, it's not like the fans bashing her have been that either. The blog post is a frustrated venting from a person who has to appear with their name and face on internet.

And if, IF, it wasn't, if it was a total calculated and malicious swing at us, so what? It's not like IGN workers have generally been singing our praises before this ;)

I suspect that some people find anything a bit cheerful cheesy. It's certainly possible to become cheesy rather too easily.

Yeah, and I think that's part of the problem. A lot of people still seem to think that because we want a "better" ending, that somehow means "happy."

I have nothing against a happy ending, and the more I think about it, the more I really would like it. But I fully expected Shepard to die at the end of the game. That's not, as far as I'm concerned, the real problem.

The ending as it stands now is, to quote one of the many videos I've seen, "broken." It loses everything that was "Mass Effect" in the last few minutes. It needs to be fixed not because it's bleak or depressing or because Shepard died, but because it doesn't fit with the rest of the trilogy.

That's my two cents for the evening, anyway. :)

That's not quite what I meant by cheesy and some people indeed do not want Shepard to die, myself amongst them. I'm rather worried that that'll happen no matter what, but I suppose if I end up in the minority then then so be it. Not that I'm too bothered about a Shepard death per se, but more because of the effect it would have on the rest of the crew. I didn't romance someone only to plunge them into depression, otherwise I should've picked my least favourite LI in order to hurt them the most. The whole choice mattering issue absolutely has to have some option where this doesn't happen. The characters' final post-Reaper thoughts definitely need hearing too.

Moving on to the dreadful logic. It's a really, really big issue but for me not the one that puts me off the rest of the game, anymore than the daft Reaper baby did in ME2.

I actually came across that the day before yesterday and linked it. Interesting to see how stuff spreads at different speeds.

Anyway, just to add something to the discussion, here's a thing I liked about the ending:

The emotion it conveyed on my first playthrough was pretty damn genuine. Thinking about of course made me as frustrated as many others, and the plotholes became gaping maws, but the emotion, the music, the scene itself, that was incredibly well-done.

Just looking from the sounds and graphic point of view. As for the story...yeah, sticking with my original sentiment: What the heck did just happen?

Aye aye. There does seem to have been a lot of negative feeling, trolling, troll-bashing and general antsy-ness on the forum lately. We're almost at PAX but it's been a while since we've had some great news or press. I wonder if people are feeling a bit tense and twitchy at the little lull here.

Whatever the reason, it feels time to inject some love and positivity into the movement. <3

Mass Effect 3 Ending: Tasteful Understated Nerdrage

I think everyone should watch this in it's entirety if you already haven't. It's a 39 minute breakdown of what went wrong in the last few minutes of ME3.

He explains the departure from logical believability, how Bioware abandoned the connection to every important character, and the inexplicable Deus Ex Machina of the Star Child and it's absurdness.

After watching it, it realy helped me put into words the emotions and lack thereof I had towards the ending. It also explains why the ending is such a departure from the rest of the series that it warrants a fix.

It is a very interesting video.

Oh yes, they did. BioWare donated them to a charity-organisation for kids. But they took the messages delivered with the cupcakes.

Yup, they donated them all to charity though.  I would have at least taken like 3 or 4.. they kinda used it as a protest of our protest... but we forgive them.. they're under a lot of stress this month.
