Is it just me or did anyone else think of this video:

when seeing how some people have been reacting to the ending

This comes across as a last-minute desparate attempt to throw a red herring.  Anyone believe this right now?

Edit: Here's Hudson: "You can have some kind of ending and victory, but it’ll be a lot more brutal and minimal relative to if you do a lot of stuff. If you really build a lot of stuff and bring people to your side and rally the entire galaxy around you, and you come into the end game with that, then you’ll get an amazing, very definitive ending."

In PR-speak, anything ambiguous means: "no/bad." So "amazing, very difinitive" is him saying that there are only dark endings. There is no hope for a day 1 patch or secret hidden ending where Shepard stays with his LI/crew. It doesn't exist. (yet...)

Nope, he's dead, which means Shep now lives in a godless universe. Hence the endings we get.

Well, I guess this means you are a better writer than Bioware's entire team. Congratz!

Yeah, for real. That was awesome.

Rdubs wrote...

Humes that is awesome and it's too bad you're not on the creative staff.  My theory is everyone was forced into a crappy ending because that's the easiest to launch an MMORPG off of.  But the events you laid out, I think would have been MUCH better to build off of - all those warring factions, wrecked military power and agendas.  Of course some things would have to be "canon overrides" so everyone is experiencing the same universe, but a story like you laid out would be a much cooler setup for an MMORPG than a "let's just rebuild everything in chunks as we release expansion packs" copout.

Good job.

Oh, well thanks. I'm flattered.

See, the thing is I did that in like five minutes. I wasn't even thinking about it. It's not hard to do this stuff without saying "because space magic". Oh sure, it'd be a thermonuclear pain in the butt to code and QA, but let's face it this is what we pay Bioware megabucks to do, and more importantly that is what we were promised in ME3. When doing something like this, the creative work is the easiest.

Bioware already set the bar with the suicide mission. They've already established having an immensely complex endgame sequence with multiple variables in the air all at once, with the chips falling dynamically, is possible. The direction you have to go at that point with this is up. What we've heard about the ending doesn't exactly scream "well, the writing team worked within the constraint of what was possible for the programmers and this is what we got, because it was what was possible", it screams "the writing team was lazy from square one and just said screw it, space magic".

there is no video evidence showing his burnt body inside the wreckage of the shuttle.  Therefore I hold that he actually teleported away prior to detonation and is currently at disneyworld.

Yeah it's total BS. We already know the endings now and all the variables to them.

I'm pretty sure if I were a Reaper, Disneyworld would be the first thing I would wipe out. Or after the Control ending.. hmm...

Seriously, where's the evidence for the underlined bit, aside from Tank's 'chart' over at SA?

maybe Bioware is right ignorance is bliss. If I hadn't spoiled it for myself at least I'd have hope up until the end. But reading random forum threads, curiosity got the better of me.

Sad thing is that you may have something. Bethesda does the smart thing and has their team switch back and forth between franchises, which keeps it fresh and allows them to have some sort of goal in mind when they are working on a game and getting tired of it.

So I did a little research.

I've played ME2 very recently over the past 4 days as I prepared another more recent character for transfer--a perfect paragon with a focus on Ashley that did try to get Samara but failed and tried to be nice to Jack and then said no when the photo frame of Ash got turned over. While playing I saw the entirety of the game, and I realized just how little the cinematics played a part in my play through, primarily really only when I was landing, arriving, or fighting in the ship.

I just looked through the movies section of ME2 just as I did for ME3's directory file, and I have to say that basing the ME2 game before it came out on the movies present would be ridiculously poor because all I'd know is that a lot of stations explode and potentially I shoot a big beam. I would have no context for what I'm looking at.

After reviewing this and being upset at no Salarian fleet and all the jazz I've posted... I must say that I could not logically nor rationally make any conclusion on the game outside of the relays exploding unless I fully play it and actually experience the other 99% of the game that the cutscenes don't tell me about.

Judging anything without context is illogical.

I doubt it was accidental. Since they probably can't go postal on their bosses, they do the next best thing.
