Sooo, on a completely random, off topic note:my school is making this new video game for econ students (kind of like The Sims econ version) and they are actually paying me tomorrow to test it. They are paying me to test a video game. I would do it for free. lol

Is this how it feels like to work for Bioware? I'm jealous.

...well, not as jealous now that the ending of ME3 is out...

No, but they've been saying cryptic stuff like that over Twitter for weeks. It's probably a vague approved response that could plausibly refer to anything from new endings to appearance packs to multiplayer maps. It's PR bafflegab. Pay it no mind.

I think if we all took a step back and saw a consolidated timeline of all of this we'd realize that it's a good thing.  3 weeks ago they basically said they were happy with the ending, now they're in full bore deadline mode busting their butts for their community, their customers, their fans.  The fact they're announcing that after they went into full lockdown no-unauthorized statements means that they are confident enough to start letting little bits of info to pique our curiousity out.  This is a good thing, it means they're going to probably blow our socks off soon with an announcement.. they're getting their swagger back, they're feeling good about what they've done under some of the most extreme circumstances ANY gaming studio has ever gone through.  If they come out of this, as I know they're capable, they're going to have a real reason to be proud of themselves.  They're not going to screw us over here, they know what's at stake.

Hold the line officers.  We're in the final days of this campaign.  Soon you're all going to be able to return home and know you were part of a watershed moment in the industry.  You're already part of the largest coordinated gaming protest/complaint drive in history.  Don't lose sight of that.  Image IPB

I am cautiously optimistic after seeing a couple of these posts.  I have however, told my wife that I have no idea what my mood will be.  She doesn't quite understand my frustration.

I asked her what she would feel like if at the end of "The Voice" (one of her favorite shows) a 5th judge that wasn't ever mentioned picked a random person that didn't make the first round and we got to choose the color of the outfit as long as we picked the red, green, or blue.

So, I'm not too sure if anybody remembers this or not, but a few days ago, I had said that I was going to start a second playthrough of ME3 to see if it truly was a lie that you can get the "best" ending without playing MP. Now, this was a few days ago, and I'm not too sure if anything conclusive about that has come out since I decided to do this. After conpleting every single side quest in the game, I maxed my WA out at 7099 (3549 at 50% EMS).I don't know how there would be an extra 3000 WA scattered throughout the 1st and 2nd games, but there you go. I came close, but didn't succeed in maxing out at 10,000. I actually kept a log of my WA at key points in the game, if anybody cares for me to post it. On another note, is it wrong that after finishing ME3 (stopped right before Earth), I felt like playing DA: Origins? I can't help but feel like it is...

I'd love to see someone with a definitive points list of every decision. I tried so many different searches and while people would discuss what choices affect WA, I never saw a points list. For example, I'm testing the (multi sourced stated) suggestion that if you kill Wrex in the first game, you can fully get the Salarians and the Krogan in 3 if you sabotage the genoppage because you can easily trick Wreav, where Wrex would have caught on.

I *loathe* making decisions like that, I felt dirty killing Wrex because it's so out of character for how I *want* to play. I came close to getting the breathe ending, I was somewhere around 3700 EMS my first playthrough. Now I'm trying to see if supposedly making these specific decisions will get me to 4k. I don't personally need full MS, I just want one save with the breathe ending. And I refuse to do MP.

So yes, I would love to see a post where ever decision that affects WA has a points list so I can really figure out what precise decisions I have to go with to get that ending. Ugh, need to go shower.

Is it wrong that I'm kind of hoping that they go with the IT, and then say, "For 15 dollars, you can now download the conclusion of ME3."

There would be riots at PAX, Asian models would be tossed over railings, Cardboard cutouts would be decapitated, Asthma inhalers would empty faster than a soda pop. Storm Troopers would be beating up Harry Potters, all the swag counters would get looted, and someone would be trying to cut through people with one of those light up light sabers. It would destroy my faith in Bioware, but it would be a hell of a thing to watch.

Or we might surprise everyone and simply clap in appreciation.  There will always be extremists.. the best way to throw them off their game is to be completely unexpected..  kill them with kindness, direct the hatred into constructive appreciation for what, if they accomplish what they're capable of, will be something worthy of Bioware, and historic in its quality and time to completion.

It'll be like the old days of MacWorld.  Dozens of bloggers with their brand new MacBook Pros weighing in at 7lbs each typing out madly as their legs go numb.

Steve Jobs stepping on stage, wearing grey cardigan.
Steve Jobs announcing new iPhone - amazing device.. applause erupts
Steve Jobs actually alien, eating member of the audience who booed.
New iPhone looks incredible.  Touch screen is slick! Definitely getting one.

The fact that Bioware are doing "Something" shows that they do care and want to do right by us, that's good enough for me.

My problem with the "something" is that while they are going to give us something, and that could mean anything from just some text to explain away the whole ending to completely overhualing the last 10 mins, and putting in something that actually makes sense...

Granted, it's not a huge point-by-point list, but it's something. All of the WA after the key points are having done every single side mission (including N7 and character missions, such as Grissom Academy, which I stupidly didn't list :() and obtaining every single planetary asset available before that point. So here's my list:

War Assets after Genophage cure (Wrex as Urdnot leader, Mordin cures the Genophage) and before Citadel attack: 3296
WA after Citadel attack (Salarians pledge their forces after Thane's sacrifice): 4178
WA after Ardat-Yakshi Academy (recruited Samara for the war effort): 4443
WA after recruiting the Ex-Cerberus scientists and Jacob: 4543
WA after all side missions before Priority: Rannoch (including Geth fighter base and saving Admiral Koris): 5156
WA immediately after Rannoch, with both Geth and Quarians pledging their support: 6371
WA after completion of Thessia: 6666
WA immediately before Sanctuary: 6884
WA after Sanctuary (recruited Miranda): 6999
WA after assault on Illusive Man's base (retrieved Proto-Reaper heart): 7099

So there. Those are the main points, precluding a few that I didn't outright list, such as the team led by Grunt (still don't know why I didn't list those

That's funny! And also sad because it's almost plausible.

I'm mostly worried we won't get any news at all at PAX. If that's the case, then I hope we'll at least get a date for some kind of official comment about it.  Otherwise I think some folks will just be giving up.
