What are the "little hints"?

There have been some ambiguous tweets from the MassEffect account and someone has found the foliage images from the normandy crash scene listed under "dream" in the files.

While I'm almost hoping for the Indoctrination Theory to be true at this point, I think it is probably more accurate to say that those are the foliage images from the ingame dream sequences that Shepard has of the Catalyst kid.

Edit.  Didn't see that post from earliar, but I still remain skeptical.  Waiting for PAX where there Bioware will hopefully shed some light on this debacle.

No there was a post of the image a couple of pages back and it's not the foliage from the dreams.

Ok, thanks. It's always another small ray of hope, isn't it? ;)

This is what I was saying many pages ago - Mass Effect 3: Part 2. That would be the best thing ever (as long as the endings are good). I want to destroy the Reapers in the Sol system and then go take back the worlds of all our friends and allies!

That's what i couldnt understand the whole build up to earth then the amazing CGI space battle. I still wants more will buy that as DLC if you give me another 10 minutes BioWare. I wanted to see the ascension firing her main weapon at a reaper ship that just felt so empty when it didnt do a thing minus jump......... Still that does send shivers down my spine!

Back on the earth bit sorry went slightly off-track there! Anyway the battle for earth was what a hour long if that and it didn't feel truly epic, unlike the suicide mission in ME2. It lacked the whole jumping to and from things like you're war assest's fighting other team mates etc. And did anyone else get the sound bug during the CGI bit with all the troopers landing etc.... or did they all have silencers on there guns?

This had crossed my mind, but I find it a little too much to hope for, for one thing it now becomes a major undertaking to transfer all decision variables to the second part, how many were transferred from ME2, something like 3000?, for each iteration that numbers grows almost exponentially unless they deliberately block decisions.

Taking the planets back would be nice. They hyped up being able to visit the homeworlds of other races, and in ME3, we barely saw the homeworlds at all.

We barely saw Earth, didn't even see Palaven, except from space, we saw 1 facility on Sur'Kesh, a little bit of Tuchanka and Rannoch. Hardly any of Thessia. Then just a little bit more of Earth.

As far as the decisions are concerned most of the larger plotlines have been tied up so would it be that hard to bring those choices forward? I'm just thinking of things like the Collector Base, the choice was brought forward but didn't seem to change anything significantly if you see what I mean?

Make that a femshep in Liara's arms and you have a winner!  While I would not complain if my Shepard were to live (I really would prefer her to retire with Liara and enjoy some peace for once), dying the arms of the woman you love after having saved the galaxy is one hell of a way to go!

No, it isn't :P Just kidding, but tbh I would really like to have Shep alive and with LI. It should be at least 1 out of 16 promised endings.

Now that would of been the ending i would off wanted! shep dying in LI's arms.

Not necessarily dying. Perhaps just being severly hurt. I would not want the story to end with Shep dead.

Just saying...

If you look there is a Femshep and Liara version there, I checked them all and i have to say they are all good.

Huh so what you're trying to say is another 30+ hours just for the battle of earth............. i'd buy that! with proper endings!

That is kind of what I was thinking, yeah. For the last game, it just seems a lot shorter than the other two. My mom and I were talking about Harry Potter and the last book being split into two movies, and she was all, "well maybe that's what they did with that game you were talking about."

I kind of doubt it, but... If that was the route they took, I'd be in for sure.

It did feel a lot shorter to me too...

It IS shorter.

Bare in mind that ME3 had one of, if not the, shortest development cycles of any BW game to date. This makes it highly unlikely that was is a 'part 2' DLC planned...although an expanded ending is plausable if they realised at the last minute that they would not be able to finish it before they had to release the game.

The only problem with the idea of this being part of a plan, is that they appear to have dragged in everyone who wasn't employed on another projects to work on 'addressing' the ending. This seems a little strange...unless the original intent was to announce it at PAX, and release it towards the end of April. It is possible that they brought in more people to finish it a few weeks early - as I've noted before games that get good word of mouth tend to show sales increases around the 5th,6th,7th and 8th weeks. So announcing it at PAX and having it ready a week or two later might allow sales to recover.

Assuming, of course, that they ever had or intended to split the ending into two parts....

I hope we get a new ending, or more and more 'realistic' options. I fear we may get some extra cut-scenes and be left with the same 'three colours fits all' ending. If we get the latter Bioware is finished...lets hope they have the sense to realise this.

I know nothing about game design, but if whatever "battle" might be involved in taking back Earth was going to invovle the war assets (in more than just an arbitrary "gain points" kind of way), there are only about 20 variables. I wouldn't think that would be too difficult, considering how many other things were already brought forward and then closed out during the rest of ME3.

(Oddly enough, I think I counted sixteen choices during the span of the three games that directly affect your war assets and lead you to different point values. Everything else plays out in dialog/cut scenes.)

Absolutely!  But if Shepard has to die (ie the other choices), this is not a bad death.

In one of the interviews it said (paraphrase) "wouldn't it be great to take back the earth and then take trips to visit places like Omega, see your friends", that immediatly rang MMORPG alarm bells for me.

Go watch some American daytime TV. You'll stop thinking after 5 seconds....

Not much different in the UK in my opinion, I put my television on the trash about 5 years ago.

Almost 10 years for me. I'll pick up DVD's and more usually box-sets, but watch them on the PC...although watching Babylon 5's entire run in a single week does do very strange things to you - such as thinking the 747 flying overhead was a Whitestar and a jukebox in a shop was a Vorlon...:?

About 3-5 years for me. I watch all my stuff online or get it off usenet. Of course, the cable companies don't like this so they try to cap internet usage. Then they offer a service where you can watch you cable shows online. Canada is just a mess right now.

Slightly more on-topic. I'm watching Friends right now straight through..... Is it odd to see parallels?

Lol yeah I agree with shep living, I don't think its too much to ask that shep be allowed to be alive in an ending

Is Shep has to die, then yes - it would be a good death. This however would cost a few bucket of manly tears

It's not. Bioware seems to agree, since in red-boom ending You can see him breathe if You had high enough EMS.

If they do go for an ME3 part 2, I'll be overjoyed, but if that was their intention all along then they have pulled a very risky move, trust is easier to lose than it is gain.

Damn, what an awesome DLC that would be. Taking back planets one by one, killing off remains of Reaper flotilla, dealing with Cerberus wanting to preserve some of the Reaper tech from the war, reuniting with old friends, seeing how the war affected politics and social life in our Galaxy.... so how about BIOWARE you fix the ending and make more money, because we are all WILLING TO PAY for such DLC. But first, make an ending your saga deserves.

hold the line.
