Taking the planets back would be nice. They hyped up being able to visit the homeworlds of other races, and in ME3, we barely saw the homeworlds at all.

In one of the interviews it said (paraphrase) "wouldn't it be great to take back the earth and then take trips to visit places like Omega, see your friends", that immediatly rang MMORPG alarm bells for me.

I see your point. But this game is meant to be the end of Shepard's story and these are Shepard's friends and allies, so it wouldn't really work unless they would mean more along the lines of visit and meet characters you know from previous games and befriend them with your brand new character and btw Shepard won't be dropping in to say hello. Ah well I can't even begin to fathom where Bioware's thoughts are on all of this Image IPB

Snip

Bare in mind that ME3 had one of, if not the, shortest development cycles of any BW game to date. This makes it highly unlikely that was is a 'part 2' DLC planned...although an expanded ending is plausable if they realised at the last minute that they would not be able to finish it before they had to release the game.

The only problem with the idea of this being part of a plan, is that they appear to have dragged in everyone who wasn't employed on another projects to work on 'addressing' the ending. This seems a little strange...unless the original intent was to announce it at PAX, and release it towards the end of April. It is possible that they brought in more people to finish it a few weeks early - as I've noted before games that get good word of mouth tend to show sales increases around the 5th,6th,7th and 8th weeks. So announcing it at PAX and having it ready a week or two later might allow sales to recover.

Assuming, of course, that they ever had or intended to split the ending into two parts....

I hope we get a new ending, or more and more 'realistic' options. I fear we may get some extra cut-scenes and be left with the same 'three colours fits all' ending. If we get the latter Bioware is finished...lets hope they have the sense to realise this.

The problem is we have no idea what they have planned for us at PAX and this has to be the most annoying thing about this whole affair. I am hoping that they have a part 2 to the whole taking earth back with the actual endings and the indoc theory if true. If not a 'part 2' at least the endings where our choices actually mattered!

Otherwise this is going down as the biggest disappointment to 2012, just hope the Avengers doesnt suck.... nor does Dark Knight rises or god forbid Prometheus...... wait scrap the last one it's Ridley Scott he can't mess his baby up! Oh and the Hobbit how the hell could i forget that!?

No, it isn't :P Just kidding, but tbh I would really like to have Shep alive and with LI. It should be at least 1 out of 16 promised endings.

Absolutely!  But if Shepard has to die (ie the other choices), this is not a bad death.

Is Shep has to die, then yes - it would be a good death. This however would cost a few bucket of manly tears

Many manly tears will be shed if Shepard dies a good death... But as it is right now, many tears of depression and sadness is shed because of the weird/stupid ending to a great game

If they do go for an ME3 part 2, I'll be overjoyed, but if that was their intention all along then they have pulled a very risky move, trust is easier to lose than it is gain.

Agreed. My inner cynic refutes the "maybe there's a part two" idea by going, "then why didn't they just say that in the first place instead of leaving everyone hanging for a whole month?"

I'd be fine with playing as some new guy as long as the old characters are still in the game.

For me, Shepard's crew > Shepard.

I must have missed this one, how did this come to light?

As I said, it just what appears to be the case. One of the writers noted they were 'hard at work' or 'too hard at work' to think of an April fools joke. (Wags have, naturally, commented that they already released one...if three weeks early).

One interesting thought though. I seem to recall someone noting that A; Developers usually take a vacation just after a major release (they did for DA2) and B; It is illegal to call staff back to work from vacations in Canada.
This sort of raises the question as to who, exactly, is 'hard at work'? Going off DA2 they should have maybe two dev teams for ME3 - one for patches and one working on DLC (which would be the MP DLC we know is coming). So...either they moved one of those teams to work on the DLC to 'address' the ending, pulled a team off another project (Which doesn't seem to be the case, the DA2 DLC team appears to have gone to work on DA3). Or most of the ME3 devs did not take a vacation....

How desperate am I? i actually mailed blizzard, gently nudging them into giving me a beta key for diablo 3, naming my bad feelings for mass effects ending :).
Will they react? most likely no... but i enjoyed writing them anyway, im sure they are aware of the current endings and such.

I was chatting with an Amazon Customer service rep about the bogus "Special offers" deal that you needed to pay them an extra 40 dollars to get rid of on the Kindle. I referenced my displeasure with ME3's ending as a comparison, and they dropped the 40 dollar charge and removed the ads for free.

Huh? Clarification on special offer and Kindle, please?

Not exactly true.

We do know, now at least, that there WILL be a DLC to 'address' the ending. We don't know what that DLC will contain, but will probably find out (along with a release date) at PAX. (Don't be concerned about the use of the word 'address', it is exactly what I expected them to say - That is it doesn't mean they are admitting the ending as is is wrong or they messed up in anyway.)

We also know there is the MP DLC coming, and it is reasonable to make the assumption that this will be officially announced at PAX as well.

Just more speculation. I was wondering about the idea of splitting the third game into two parts, kind of like the last Harry Potter movie. Wishful thinking, I'm sure, but it struck me as an interesting thought.

I think 99% of us are waiting for the endling DLC more than the MP DLC stuff.......... even though i do enjoy playing ME3 MP. Still wouldn't of minded a Co-op ME3 camp though.

They knew someone from retake was coming...so probably decided to hide until they went away.
I mean, things could have got nasty if a large group had turned up...action figures thrown, heavy whezing...maybe even *shudder* Star War's quotations shouted at them. Besides which, the day before someone had threatened to do something truely horrific to Bioware...They'd threatened to *gulp* send in some clowns :crying:

Seriously, can you imagine the nightmares they must have been having - a large group of irate customers waddling towards them and clowns to either side....
