Hurts... :(

I find it so strange that people are so against the possibility of an alternate ending (not that they even said that they're making one). My brother was perfectly happy with how Fallout 3 ended and when I told him about Broken Steel, he was just like "oh, that's cool" but he didn't have to play it.

With ME3, people are happy with their deeply flawed ending, but they desperately don't want the rest of us to be happy with an alternative? I just don't understand.

I would go pre-order those now then lol. It won't be free and I'm 100% sure on that. Actors, programmers, CGI, sound tech, story writers, will all need to be paid.

Can we really ask the programmers and voice actors to work for free just because the Exec Producer and Head Writer made some bad decissions? Look for it being in the $5 to $10 dollar range. Depending how much they have to do. If they make it a full expansion then $10 but if they just do new cut scenes then $5.

They have reserve funding, any business that does not is playing with fire, I once thought the same as you, but I cannot in all good conscious support something that may set a precedent in the gaming industry "How did the story end?, pay $? to find out!"

Technically they're not pulling a Capcom and cutting off the ending. They're technically giving you an alternative ending or an expansion on said ending. We have no evidence that they broke off the ending to sell to us later. Bethesda did the same thing with Broken Steel. They gave the players an ending, they hated it so they made an alternative that takes place right after the original ending.

As for EA paying themselves to fix their mistake? Not gonna happen. Ever. EA would rather shut down the ME franchise and focus on their numorus other IPs. Remember the moment EA doesn't see the profit is the moment they stop caring.

Also they wouldn't just be paying for an expansion. We've already hurt the ME3 bottum line. Asking it for free is like stabbing someone for saying something you didn't like and then demanding an apology and their wallet.

I am SOOOOO glad Witcher 2 comes out in a few weeks...it will make my divorce from Bioware a lot easier...I never thought I would be trading in ME3 but unless Pax blows me away (which I doubt) I am going to use the 30.00 trade in toward Witcher 2...the really sad thing is a few years ago I would NEVER have considered trading in a Bioware game and now it will be back to back games...The good news is that Bioware's complete disconnect from fans along with their general apathy is making this decision quite an easy one

I thought this was interesting. Game companies are starting for feel the heat.

The best thing they can do is to stop buying the DLC that keeps getting pushed out. Only then will something possibly change. But too many MW players don't see that they are being played for chumps and keep buying the stuff because of how appealing it's made to look.

If they stop and say
" Wait a minute why am I paying for maps from previous games"?

Or better yet they can say

"Why am I paying for the same stuff ( the series really hasn't changed) each game"?

Once they realize they deserve better and hurt these companies in those wallets then things will start to look up. Otherwise they'll keep buying these games without a second thought and nothing will change.

1; The voice cast were already scheduled to record new stuff - although they didn't know exactly what - sometime ago.

2; Bioware staff will get paid regardless of what they happen to be working on.

In other words no one would be asked to work for free.

If they charge for it, that will simply reinforce the image of a company who cares only about ripping their customers off at every chance. Coupled with the day one DLC issue, which WILL end up being dragged back into the light, their reputation for a customer friendly company will be gone along with a significant chunk of their customer base.

Sure, that DLC *might* sell well *IF* it is decent...but they will find sales of all subsequent DLC AND games will suffer.

1) They were scheduled for paying DLC. Not free.

2) Yes BW staff get paid but the company makes no profit, the company makes no profit the employees don't get paid. BW can very easier shut down ME3 and just move everyone to TOR or DA3.

3) Only people looking at the utter negative would see if an reinforcing of corporate greed. I however would see it as BW being the same as Bethesda when they change FO3 with at cost DLC.

P.S. Yeah the day 1 DLC was crap but you gotta pick and choose your battles. I have the N7 Edition so the Day 1 didn't phase me but the ending phased EVERYONE.

It all depends. If it'll pay for itself in the long run then it might possibly happen. Would it be worth it in additional non-related DLC sales, for example? Money pressure might be our best hope.

I don't want too read more of these speculations ...
they give me headache and break my heart even more.
If this ending stays than me and bioware are over.
there are other game manufacturers who listen and value their fanbase ( I.e .CD project) and I will when player Is respected ascpayimg customer.
Hope you go bust Bioware .

True but we've already pressured them for money but cutting their entire first month sales. Also keep in mind we are continually fighting the "entitled" stereotype. Demanding everything be free says entitlement to me but saying you're willing to hand over an extra $5 for an alternative seems reasonable.

I imagine this might have been Bioware's reaction to our plight:

I actually had a dream/nightmare like that last night. Someone from BW posted something in here about the "only line that needed to be held was theirs and the ending they'd created."

Took me like half an hour after waking up to realize it was a dream and calm down... :( It was unpleasant.

Speaking of CD projekt, I've got my copy of witcher 2 pre ordered, should be a fun game to play if things go south here with Bioware and ME3, I'm still optimistic though

I was thinking indirect money pressure that doesn't even need anyone to say anything. Any accusation of entitlement simply because people don't want to buy something from someone any more is ridiculous (not that that stops some of those who are having a go at us). It's exactly the same as companies giving away freebies or cheap sales in the hope that it leads to further profitable sales.

The risk is that EA may decide "Yes, it would boost ME3 and ME3 DLC sales to pressure Bioware into doing this, but we could get even more money if we get them to do something else entirely."

Played and loved the 2nd game, but I must go back and play the enhanced edition of the first one. Didn't think it would be my kind of game, but after the second one I feel the need to play the first.

people are talking as tho it has been confirmed that Bioware is not doing anything about the ending at all. is this true? are they really going to let themselves loose a Fuc* tun of fans and allow what should be the gratest gaming achevment in the las 10 years become know as that game with the sh**y ending that drove away it's own fanbase?

I don't think so. I think people are just working from the "clarification" Dr. Muzyka mentioned in his official statement.
