I asked this already, but I think it may have been missed: is this source confirmed as reliable? I'm not trying to be all crazy-denial, but I'm a bit new to the spoilers and as far as I know as of this moment, there's been no hard evidence from this person (vids, screenies, etc) from this person aside from what he's promised to get in the future.

Again, at some point you have to accept that Bioware turned into what they did by their own will.

The ME team, at least. The DA team seems to be learning.

There is no hard proof of that either.  Until DA3 is released and is actually a better product than DA2 I hold off any preconcieved belief that they are learning.

Dude, this (the underlined bit) hasn't been confirmed.

What's been confirmed, is that there exist endings like that.

Many are convinced, that this exhausts all possible endings (I'm very much inclined to believe that); but, again, it's a conjecture. Hasn't yet been proven.

Yes. It has. Xio has done every ending now. Tank was a friggin' tester for the game. He's made a chart showing all the variables and how to get each ending. There is nothing else. Xio is redoing the perfect ending (Synergy) now and taking pics. You'll see for yourself.

There's now plenty of "hard evidence". People just refuse to believe it because they're in "crazy-denial" mode. Just read the groups, take it all in, and make your peace.

The sad thing is, every problem I have with what we know of the game (though I'm not going to render a final judgement until I play it myself), is purely on Bioware.  Everything related to raw resources seems great: I love the gameplay, the rpg mechanics appear to be the best in the series, the environments look terrific.  The only disappointment on that front is the animations.

Every single problem I have comes from the writing, which falls on Bioware, not EA.  Regardless of what EA did, ME3 probably would have had the same set of writers  and we probably would have ended up with the same story.  In other words, the problem here is Bioware, not EA.  Saying something is not EA's fault seems rather disconcerting, but there you go.

You expected to defeat all powerful race working for millions upon millions of years without being destroyed by it?

We don't understand what happened in the in-game convos so we have no context for what happened to the rest of the races and the rest of Humanity, maybe everyone died.

The issue is the first two games made it pretty honking clear the Reapers are in no way all-powerful. They just have a technological advantage (which as of ME2 was gone), and a handful of very dirty tricks they use to achieve rapid dominance over the organic races. Vigil pretty much lays the whole thing right out for you on Ilos in ME1. Judging from Sovereign and Harbinger, they're not even that intelligent, blessed with a strong knack for strategy, or adaptive. Actually, they're kind of stupid.

That's not to say they present no threat, quite the opposite. They just represent a big enough threat the galaxy would have to unite to defeat them, and that's kind of the point of the trilogy. They're certainly not powerful enough that a deus ex machina is remotely necessary to plausibly defeat them.

He posted pics of the physical game and discs when he got it days ago. He shared information that wasn't in the leaked script days ago. Vids started leaking like crazy yesterday all confirming what he said. He's redoing the end of his perfect play through now and taking pics.

Nope. Like I said, I'm new to the spoilers; I honestly don't know what's a reliable source or not. I'd be just as skeptical of someone who said there were sunshine and bunnies.

I know you're super eager to beat everyone down, but you're barking up the wrong tree here.

I don't think I've seen anyone flatly denying any of these outcomes. Why is it a bad thing to want to see proof for ourselves instead of taking someone else's word for it?

Thank you for linking to these. I'm going to look through them.

I have seen many people flatly denying these claims. I have seen people deny that the cinema quality pre-rendered cutscenes made by Bioware were fan made! Its just crazy how much they refuse to believe. Its only going to make it worse when they play the game and the horrible endings hit home. At least I am desensitized to it now.

All I have to say is that.. If there are no better endings, even just the little tweak that Shep and at least /some/ of his crew end up stranded together.. Then, even if there /is/ a new game in the Mass Effect universe.. I'll just get it at a steep discount from a used game store months after release if I get it at all. And Just avoid all games from Bioware/EA as best I can in the future. I'm also pretty sure I'm not alone in that.

That "Ending clarifications by early release player" link further up the page refutes the "All eezo-based technology fails" claim.

Geek Rant, You've been warned.

I came to this series with Mass Effect 2. After playing it I fell in love with it and purchased Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1, and then replayed starting with the original ME. I will completely open and honest I wanted the LI in my ending. The game hell this company has gotten us into shipping. From what I've read romances have existed for Bioware even before ME and DA. I wont be one of those people who say I wouldn't mind a sad ending BULL. I wanted to be a god damn hero. I didn't have to save everyone in the world but I had to save my LI, my crew. These are characters I'm attached to. SOme of the characters are set up to be sad and its perfect (Thane, Mordin, Samara) but what the hell with the rest! I put so many hours into this game, so much money to>> Money a poor college kid doesn't have :) If it sounds like I'm whining I dont get my waifu I am. I worked to get Jack (Ok dialog is not that hard but Shep worked hard), Garrus and my Femshep were meant to be. HOw does this ending not leave any cliffhangers or plotholes? In one ending shep lives so thats a cliffhanger how does he not spend the rest of his/her life looking for his crew or LI. What becomes of him/her? And with the relays broken that leaves a lot of questions (dont even wanna touch Gilligan Planet as its come to be called.) When I first heard these spoilers I was just going to wait but with everything that has come out like the videos...I want this to be an epic troll. I want this to be some story that makes it one Cracked.com list of best trolls ever but I'm losing faith....DAO had the LI in most endings in a good light, DA2 even if it was one piece of dialogue it states what happened. Hell another EA game Dead Space had a good ending in its second entry! Then it had tragedy and thats ok when appropriate. Bioshock 2 even best ending was sad but satisfying. Mirvas or however you spell Den had one of the best and saddest endings I have ever seen. It doesnt work here. The first two entries were triumph, fighting beside a lover, kicking alien bugs ass. I now am hoping for dlc that somehow...makes things better? I dont care if its a single line or a signle little picture. I remember in the film Metropolis (great animated film) you only found out he rebuilt the robot girl he loved by a single freaking photo after the credits, and it was obsure because shes in the background! Ill take that. Shep building a house on earth for tali (al you really have, sorry tali) Femshep standing side by side with Kaiden as they are awarded medals of honor. Shep craddling a crying Jack surrounded by destruction from the war. Give me anything Bioware please><

I've seen this happen several times before in other fictional universes. The first time I was right there with all the deniers. Oh, what a painful lesson that was! Since then, I've learned to trust the red flags. They don't appear when all is well. And all is very much not well with ME3...

Relax, Xoi stated in his "ending clarification" thread (linked earlier, maybe a page or so back) that the "all eezo-tech is fubar" part is not true. That's one of the few things that someone trolled up and spit out to freak people out further. The only tech that is destroyed in the "destroy" endings are Reapers, Citadel, Geth (they upgrade themselves with reaper tech), and EDI (built in part with reaper tech).

I think most people are clinging onto the hope that these endings will feel more satifsying in person. Something I'm hoping for. But it's certainly not what I want nor is it what I expected. I really thought a little slice of happiness after all the hard work was deserved.

The Normany crew deserved some happiness, most of them have followed Shepard loyaly to the end. At the end of the day that is what you have been close to the whole game. They put a face on the galaxy. And even sacrificing yourself doesn't save them.

Heck even a choice between surviving on earth / normandy crew dead or stranded versus sacrifice and normandy crew crash on earth / survive would be better than this. That gives the player something to choose die for their LI / friends / the galaxy or let the his LI / friends die for the galaxy and selfishly survive. And with enough war assets and dedication, you should be able to have your cake and eat it, both of you survive. Because it's a video game, with choices. Let the player feel empowered on the last game of the trilogy!
