Been a week or more since I last checked where we are at with this, anything major since about page 1800?

If by major you mean an announcement about a new ending, no. There has been a bunch of articles videos pictures random speculation though. Look for a djbare (mr. Bond) list post there was one about two pages back.

The prevailent opinion is that we will get an answer of sorts at pax this Saturday.

Biowares twitter did seem to confirm that they will 'address' the ending with a DLC, and that more information will come at PAX.

(Don't get put off by the word 'address' btw. It is exactly how I expected them to word any statement).

I couldn't agree with you guys more. It is disheartening that every game developer now feels the need to go this route. They see the sales figures for cod and decide that they need to imitate it if they are going to make money.
I prefer my games to be those that make me think and have a more profound effect then bragging about your k/d to you friends who don't give two s**ts.
What happened to epic single player campaigns? They are being tarnished because a suit somewhere decided that it is better to divert resources into MP. Look at AC after the second the campaigns suffered, all because of the need to cater to the mp audience. Same thing happened here. I would love for a dev to buck the trend stick to their guns and make great SP games.

Actually, I like the me multiplayer. But if it was proven to have taken away from sp, then I wouldn't miss it for a second. Some franchises are great for multiplayer, others are not. just take a look at how well the multiplayer, action-oriented res-evil game operation racoon is doing and you can see that focusing on that hurt them badly. And yet they still wanna roll with it. Sadly, a lot of the posts from bioware are sstarting to sound like this, more and more disconnect from the fanbase.

I think that came off a little different from how I intended. It isn't that I don't like MP, in certain situations it can be my favorite part of a game (red dead free roam with friends is a hoot). I just don't like when devs try and insert mp into story driven sp games with the sole purpose of attracting a different crowd of gamers. Stick to the fan base that elevated your games what they are.

Ah, well fingers crossed then but I'm not holding my breath.

I found a way to keep it at 100%. After getting it there, save you're sp file with it at 100%, then next time you play, make sure you don't connect to ea servers. I stayed at 100% until i connected again.

Welp.. looks like PAX isn't going to be an announcement anymore.  They're going to be answering questions.

@masseffect @wintergirllover more news sometime this month? Werent you supposed to release some info re: endings during Pax?

Mass Effect‏@masseffect
@milish_art We said that we would have news this month and will be answering fan questions at PAX, but we haven't announced content.

If I were their PR department I'd strongly suggest at least some sort of announcement at PAX.  It would be in their interest to keep from pouring gasoline on a forest fire at this point Image IPB

I agree. I think not announcing anything is ignoring their customers (they call it fans, altough I'm only a fan of some of their games, not of a company). Is a terrible thing to hold info if they already have it. If they have a decision, they should announce it, or at least say when they will announce it. All this "mystery" may very well scream "amateurs", imho. Depends on their solutions to it, of course.

Agreed.  If this will be the case, the reaction might be less than favorable, to put it lightly.

That's always an option... I've got the From Ashes DLC though... so everytime i open the game it has to verify the DLC, and if im not connected to the net it cant verify that i havnt downloaded it illegally, so I cant start the SP campaign... dont know if its a bug or another way to get us to actually play MP

They are stating that they have NOT said what they will be talking about at PAX. Not that they will not be announcing content at PAX...if that made sense.

It should also be remembered that the writer who will be at PAX said 'we have a lot to talk about' in a tweet after it was confirmed he would be there. That does not sound like a pure question and answer session to me.

I'd expect BW to confirm an 'alternate ending' DLC, and probably indicate it will be out later in the month*. As well as confirming the MP DLC that was accidently leaked by Microsoft around ME3's release.

(*This is me trying to be positive. If they announce a DLC to 'clarrify' the ending...well...solid bodily waste material meet air displacement device. If they announce some form of ending DLC will be out next week it will probably be a 'clip-show' type of 'explination' DLC. If it isn't going to be available until later in the month it will probably contain more content, and therefore is more likely to be the type of ending we asked for)

If that tweet is true, then Bioware has lost a customer forever.

I am also really sick and tired of "streamlining" games as well. All this tying to appeal to the lowest common denominator (I do not mean stupid, just mean them trying to make it as appealing to as many people as possible) is really starting to hurt gaming.

He said they'll be answering fan questions. There is no other question available to them really. No one is interested in anything else until this whole ending debacle is settled.

whats going to happen when EA turns off the MP servers, they just shutdown a TON of servers for other games, the oldest being 2 years, the youngest being 11 months (UFC servers i think).
they also shutdown shift 2 servers and various other need for speed servers and other EA games.

so no server = no 100% = no chance of getting the "best" ending (assuming they fix it)

What tweet? The one about PAX?

See, that was supposed to mean that they have not announced the content of their presentation/session at PAX, not that they will not say anything at PAX.

Yeah, saw that one in the "Use pictures to describe the Ending" thread.  Didn't know whether to laugh or to facepalm, so I did both. Image IPB
The thread got locked because someone posted some content that was deemed inappropriate.  Still funny, though.

I'll get over it eventually, but wow that ending was terrible.

Hoping for a new ending / expecting a "clarification" ending.

Exactly... We were told that MP would have no impact on our SP-Campaign... Then why is my readiness rating stuck at 50% unless i win a match?

One can hope they release a patch before hand that just sets that to 100% by default, if not it is not that hard to mod in a 100% at least for pc/xbox.
Also any dlc will probably up your assests so with more dlc it'd be easier to get that "perfect" ending.

hard to mod it whens its on a console like xbox or the ps3 without making the xbox a jtag or downgrading the ps3's OS

both of which are against sony and microsofts TOS

Haha.
Wait. Are they talking about DA3 first or ME3?

See...I think it is in their best interest to think about the order. If they give us good news about ME3, they might announce that first and then DA3, so people will actually pay attention to both, and be willing to buy DA3. But if the news are bad...better announce DA3 first (making a couple of DA obsessed fans happy) and then talk about ME3...

Either way, if the news are bad, everyone will be mad.

EDIT: typo
