Bioware, you were almost perfect. I could even forgive you for DA2, because that was like a game meant to set up and introduce the problems in another game, so I understood why it wasn't as awesome as DA:O. Plus DA3 can make it up for it. But...this ending...there is no ME3.5 or ME4: Shepard Returns...:crying:

Well they were going to go with the 7 magical balls of the Krogan scattered throughout the galaxy to revive Shepard ending.. but then they realized that Shepard could just kungfu his/her way out of the afterlife.  There was also some giant pink bubblegum superboss planned too..

Guess we're never going to see that ending now, I wanted to fight the final four reapers with my baby turian I named Charizard.  Image IPB

Omg! haha. You made me laugh so much here. I had hoped that they would give us a whole game playing as Joker trying to find the 7 magical balls to bring Shepard back to life

Definitely better than the Disney tie-in ending, in which your love interest holds your lifeless corpse, begins to sing a song, glowy tendrils of biotic energy envelop them, the planet, the fleet, the galaxy all unite singing a completely random song (in english of course) and the power of love ressurects you. one of the websites I check for comics and graphic novels are taking pre-orders for some ME3 action figures now. I checked em out, and the Garrus and Legion figures are pretty nice, they made Liara's face totally messed up where it doesn't even resemble her.

It looks like an anime face.. And the pose she's in is the typical bikini clad with huge breasts pose. WTF. Anything to bring in more money.

Holy crap, just did a search to see the figures, they annihilated Liara, why oh why does it have to resemble ********** instead of just following the original artstyle

I don't think there will be such an outrage. It is a simple matter of fact that, even with different opinions, gamers tend to be less agressive then soccer fans.

Its not that we are less aggressive, its that we program ourselves to 'attack' using small finger movements. So 'fights' between gamers end up with two people standing their twitching their fingers and wondering why they aren't launching a fireball at their opponent.

But if Garrus dies, the 7 balls turn to stone, and will have to go to Palavin to get their uber-magic 7 balls.

Omg.. I almost chocked on my Mountain Dew here  lol

Hey! I would love to get that ending. The LI (in my case, Kaidan) could sing..."My Heart Will Go On" or "I Will Always Love You" and my FemShep would come back to life. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/devil.png[/smilie]

P.S. cheesy songs ftw!

Until one day John Smith came along.  You see, he figured out how to actually launch fireballs... sadly he didn't figure out how to keep himself from catching fire when he did it.. guess we were't ready for the responsibilty that power brought.

It's from some famous Japanese artist I guess. And he apparantly likes the look of the x-rated tentacle animes more than actually making a character look like they should. I

FYI: There's a [IMHO] very good forum post about what sorts of things we'd like BW to do. Seeing that I agree almost 100% with what the OP says I thought I'd post a link to the article:

Anyone else think the Bioware team that is going to PAX are the people who pulled the short straws?

Here's the panelists, in case anyone was wondering:

Chris Priestly - Community CM who has been very patient with the fans.
Mike Gamble - Producer who has also been continually posting to twitter that something "big" is on the way.
Corey Gaspur - Combat Designer, ME3's combat system was arguably the strongest in the series.
Patrick Weekes - Writer, responsible for the Genophage Arc, PSTD Asari, and other well-recieved scenes from the game.
John Dombrow - Writer, also responsible for many fan favorite scenes.
Reid Buckmaster - QA Lead

I don't see it as so much a "short straw" sort of thing, but rather, picking the people who are the least likely to incur the unbridalded wrath of the fans. :bandit:

You don't want to pick someone like Les Grossman in this sort of situation...

I agree with you wholeheartedly on this, they are trying to present a group that might be able to actually allievate some of the tension with this instead of in flame it more.  Though I might have left Mike off that list, but I guess he has been pretty out there with his tweets and stuff.  So I'll roll with it.

Why did there just have to be one ending? Why did it have only one terrible emotional tone? Why did the one ending make no sense? Why did I bother getting all those War Assets? Why did Joker and the crew leave me to die alone with no emotional reaction? Why didn't any choices I made make a difference? Why make a stupid kid be the final boss? Why cut out Andersons best dialogue?

I'm Actually interested in seeing what Patrick Weekes says,  especially if he wrote the  Genophage arc an PTSD a Asari and  I would assume the Rannoch arc.

Even if I were to agree that, "Yes, the ending has choices," the choices you're given are genocide, enslavement, and genetic rewriting.
What sort of heroic ending is that?

Alleviate tension or flip flop on the matter, being ambiguous as ever? Unless they have clear-cut answers, they won't alleviate anything.

Ahm, apparently Bioware didn't want to make any heroic ending. That's the problem. :crying:

We remind me of a pissed off guy who's had enough, he's gone 'FTS' and is about to leave when the person who angered him says 'hang on, I'm sorry, let me make it up to you'. He stops, still pissed, hovering right near the door, gives the person one LAST chance...

BW either makes amends, softens our anger, and we return to their arms.

Or they betray us again, we cure them loudly, slam the door and hope to never see them again.

But one ending was blue!  I have spent the last 3 games being indoctrinated by Bioware to know that Blue = Paragon, and Red = Renegade!

Yeah. They make a series were your a hero. A game were all they talk about is how great a hero you are. All the heroic feats only YOU could accomplish. Then they make an endings that does away with all of it, all 3 games of it. <_<

I don't think I can play Bethesda games. I love Bioware games too much.
Why are they torturing everyone with those color coded endings?! :crying:

P.S. I have nothing against color coding stuff. Quite the contrary: I color code my notes...

Bah sorry for the late response. Just got back on the line. See while I enjoy games from both devs (minus ten minutes here or there. -sigh-), they are the proverbial apples and oranges. Their games have very different styles. I like Bethesda games for the freedom and huge, interesting worlds to explore but they generally suck in characterization. I feel I can go through an entire Bethesda game without my character making a single friend, and it lends itself to a certain loneliness. Plus Bethesda games think they're too cool for girly romances, which is a huge turnoff for me since I'm such a nerd for Bioware style love interest stories and happily cash in my man card over them.

That's why I really do hope Bioware manages this thing well in the end and goes on to have a very long and successful run. There aren't really that many devs that make games like Bioware. I guess Obsidian often tries, though their games are usually rushed and some of the buggiest games I've ever played at launch have been Obsidian games. -cough- New Vegas -cough-. Sorry something in my throat. Anyway there just isn't an alternative game developer that makes truly Bioware styled games, which is one of the reasons I think fans care so much about the poor endings.

Hipster Me: "Heroic endings are so mainstream... "

*hits Hipster  self with a bat*  "SHUT UP"

Sorry about that, have to beat that  annoying thing down  every now and then.

Still that what I think it is -its a damn fad  that everything has try to be sooo no mainstream. You can't have happy endings because is soo cliche'. What  people fail to realize is that its cliche' because for the  thousands of years of human story telling... it WORKED.
