You guys are making me miss college. I finished up a couple years ago with a poli sci degree, which may as well be a degree in the art of flipping burgers. The work force is decidedly less fun.

NEVER! I will not play ME3 ever again unless it's fixed! :( But yeah summer time is 4 classes and learning Italian, was thinking of going for an intership to learn about stem cells.

Hey, you were the one who wanted a challenge. There is nothing more challenging than replaying ME3 and enduring all that BS from the creepy little ghost kid.

Steam cells? Are you a science major or something..? *science challenged person right here*

I am so jealous. I take like...6 classes. And my class would never be cancelled because of another presentation going on in the classroom :?
My econ class today was cancelled as well(Prof is in Vegas), but I still had another class and now I have 2 exams tomorrow, and I feel like I'm going to fail both of them

And yes, I am studying. And holding the line at the same time lol

Vegas, sound lesson for an Econ class. When in a recession go and try to win big becuase nothing else is working.

I have a speech due Thursday that I should be writing. Ehh that prof likes me and I have a line to hold.

Just out of curiosity, who here knew about the ending rage before you finished the game?

I myself was flying in pretty blind. I'd only seen a single tweet to one of devs saying the ending was terrible. I quickly brushed the thought aside and stayed off the internet for an entire week until I completed the game.

Do you think knowing how bad it was softened the blow?

I knew about it, I'm pretty sure if I had gone into that ending blind at the very least I would have been replacing my mouse, if not my monitor and/or tower.  Even knowing what to expect, there was a LOT of willpower involved in not flinging my mouse out the window.

I will be I am just getting rid of the Basic stuff then focusing on my Major, which is going to be science.

ME3 is not a challegne it is just punishing myself to a horrible ending...I am not a Masochist :P

Yeah, when your 'good' ending makes your players think they've done something wrong it means you haven't instilled a sense of completion..

I listened to the choices, hoped that there would be one to fight... and I picked the blue paragon choice, because I figured that made sense and would give me the result I wanted since they really sounded similar at that point and so I figured Bioware would guide me in the right direction as they'd done up to that point..

Yep, I felt the same way about the synthesis ending.  Only the Starkid talked for so freaking long (and you're a little shellshocked after the whole reaper beam, Anderson thing) that I misinterpreted the choices.

Since Starkid mentioned the synthesis choice last and then talked about the relay destruction, I assumed that was the only choice that would destroy them.  Then, when it was all over and I was sitting there confused and hollow, I decided for the first time in the whole series that the seemingly obvious paragon peace-for-everyone choice was *not* the right choice for me.

Went online to see what the other two endings involved and found two different colors with the same mass relay explosion.  Then I googled 'mass effect 3 endings' and came straight to this thread.

Haha, yes. At least as I was watching the ending, I had gone in blind and came out absolutely confused. It took a couple of hours before the anger set in. My table is very lucky I haven't flipped it yet.

Agreed on all points, good sir. For the five days that I played ME3, it was the only thing I could think about, I was loving every single second of it. I too felt everything my Shepard was feeling. I cried for Mordin and Thane, as well as the retaking of Rannoch with the help of Legion. I'd never been so moved by a game before.

And then the ending came. For a whole week the only thing I could think about was how truly awful it was. The switch from something so wonderful to something so bad was so abrupt it was like mood/tone whiplash. I actually felt kinda ill afterwards.

Still, I've enjoyed my time here. You guys have become my support group as I weather this ordeal. Hold the line.

Heh yeah this place as a support group is an apt observation. It really does feel like one. Plus it always feels good to unite with a diverse group over a common cause. I'm a hickish rural guy and I get to visit with people from across the world and from decidedly different walks of life. Quite fun.

I think that IT is correct, and I hope that they deliver DLC that lets us see what happens with our mental struggle that was the end of ME3.

Having said that, they *still* totally, 100% dropped the ball as far as “the reveal” goes. If you are being indoctrinated then the reveal should have happened right before you were to make the Control/Synthesize/Destroy choice. Right there, standing in the middle of the platform you should have thought, “Wait a minute, am I being lied to? Is this a trick?” But we didn’t think that. No one did. And that is where they dropped the ball. A massive seed of doubt should have been placed right then and there. Every single player should have stood there *at that point* thinking, “Am I indoctrinated?”

Instead we got what we got, an “ending” that kicks the other 99% of the entire Mass Effect series right in the daddy bags if taken literally.

Nothing wrong with science, especially physics. Three cheers for aerospace engineering!

He's right replaying  ME3 isn't a challenge it's cruel and unusual punishment. Which is outlawed in the constitution so if you make someone replay it you are breaking the law.:police:

Yeah when you have to explain everything up to that point just to have it 'make sense' it's probably not a good plot device haha.  He did talk WAY too long and you ARE still in a LOT of shock from Anderson's death, and the fact you're not even sure you're alive still.

Nothing against science. I just don't get Biology...(totally fine with Chem)
Don't tell me you are an aerospace engineering major...

And hey, replaying ME3 is a psychological challenge: how much torture can you endure? B)

Btw, I replayed it. Just didn't go through the Earth mission.

Yup.. we reward loyalty to customers with loyalty in readership... I detected a subtle note of "You're being used" in the tweet... we're not being used, we know exactly what's going on, same thing that goes on when you frequent a restaurant and the owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome.  It's called customer service. The moment he finally shut up I was like "wait, wha?" Then I turned around to see if I could ask questions only to find that I couldn't. I thought the relays would only be destroyed if I chose destroy for some reason. And when he explained synthesis I thought he meant that synthetics and organics would literally MERGE into one another. As in a geth and... let's say a human would actually become this freaky geth/human amalgamation. That choice (or what I thought it was) really freaked the sh*t out of me, so naturally I chose destroy.

Yeah, I honestly don't think I even heard him say the relays destroyed part.. I was trying to figure out if I was alive or needed to fight still or what was going on lol.

Wow, BW is already being used as an example of a company in disgrace with its fans. I don't completely agree with this. Not for now, at least. They still have the chance to make it up for it. But fail to do this, and will certainly be. And I think they are making huge mistakes in how they deal with it. The secrecy can only become something bad.

Do what they should do (remake the endings), and it took too long to acknowledge it. And no one will ever believe they "planned all along".
Do nothing, and it's worst than anything.
