It's been couple of years from my last psychology course, but I could've sworn the 'common' short term memory loss from Memento and Korsakoffs are different diseases. Ironically, I can't remember for sureajunta_ wrote...
Yeah, that's right. At least, that's what I learned from "The man who mistook his wife for a hat". In "Memento" it's more romanticized.Atrocity wrote...
Isn't Korsakoff a specialized short term memory disorder? If I recall (pun intended) it's common with alcoholics, and it entails compulsive lying, when person tries to make sense of the surrounding world and events he can't remember by making up stories.
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Look on the bright side, even with Shepard beaten and burnt, Harbinger still high tails it out of there, he didn't want to stay around for a real fight, he knew Shepard would have still kicked his Reaper arse.
Of course he would have! Shepard's the baddest dude in the galaxy. He should have stomped Spacebrat into the ground and then gone after Harbinger, but instead we got......too painful to finish. XD

But if this memory loss is infectious and I have it, I won't be able to remember I have already done it, and thus the circle of pain is complete, with no emergency exit.N085 wrote...

Other than madness I suppose.
When you find yourself
locked onto an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past
where the screaming is unbearable, remember there's always madness. Madness is
the emergency exit.

And I got Hurricane. But not to worry, Hemingway will weald it with drunken desperation.

I just feel that with guys like Tarkin occupying most of the higher seats, they should've been able to destroy most of the rebels before things went as far as Endor. Then again, Palpatine's ego probably got in the way of efficient military strategy every step of the way.
Hard to fight an opponent you can't find. As was implied (if not stated) in all three films, the Rebels were not defending 'fixed' bases but moving around a lot and keeping hidden. Just consider how long it took the US to find Bin Laiden, then consider how long it would take to find someone (or a base) when they could be hiding practically anywhere in the galaxy...Or as stated in ME1 '...A fleet can not track down one man...'
Things are even worse if you are trying to track down another fleet. Nelson chased no less that two French fleets, the first he only discovered was in Egypt by accident. The second he chased across the Atlantic and only discovered its location several weeks after it had made port.
As I noted, large military forces can have serious problems combating smaller forces that are highly mobile, don't have to defend fixed positions (or, alternatively as was the case at Hoth. They only 'defend' bases long enough escape) and above all have the sense not to try and match strength with strength. The Rebel fleet, for example, was deliberatly avoiding encounters with large Imperial forces. And was only willing to launch a full scale attack when they had a chance of killing Palpatine - in fact the implication in Return was that the Rebel fleet was ONLY willing to risk itself for a chance to kill Palpatine.

Let's hope we can break this cycle. The fact that over 50k of organics have gathered to fight for their favorite game for the first time in history, proves that blablabla, don't feel like quoting starkid all of a suddenAtrocity wrote...

And then he ruins it because classic villains like their talk more than actually achieving anything. I knew there was a reason why Palpatine never made it to my 'favourite members of the Empire' list <_<Cybermortis wrote...

It's not weird; I feel the same! Like my favourite band say: Look at me; look how love has changed the man I used to be.
Though, it's not changed me as such as it is only one man, though technically is it homosexual if he's another species? This IS beginning to sound weird!
