Doubtful. Did you see their response to being voted the worst company in America?
"We're sure that British Petroleum, AIG, Philip Morris, and Halliburton
are all relieved they weren't nominated this year. We're going to
continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300
million people worldwide.”
They essentially said "lolwutevar"
That was actually a somewhat clever response. They deflected by pointing out the various Mega unpopular corps in some shady industries such as tobacco. It sorta highlights the absurdity of them winning the award. Yeah they may or may not be one of the worst things in the gaming industry, but I don't think most people would honestly consider them worse than some of the corporations mentioned, some of whom have arguably killed or ruined the lives if tens of thousands. They also tried to come off snarky and joking about it. So I'd say well played on their part. Doesn't mean they don't suck.
Consumerist left the companies they mentioned out of the running because they won in previous years. Otherwise, I'm sure Halliburton could have taken it all due to their war profiteering. Or BP for their environmental devastation.
Doesn't change the fact that EA treats customers like a burden(worst. customer. service. EVER.) except for when it comes to their customers buying stuff from them, or how they overwork their employees with minimal or no compensation, and crapify games because they want a lot of money NOW, rather than a LOT more money LATER because they did something right for once.
And for the record, this isn't an EA smear campaign/bashfest. I am merely repeating information I uncovered in my research on their business practices. Except the customer service thing, that one is all personal experience. I swear, the only response they're allowed to give is "no." Then they're trained to sit in silence when you ask why.
