.. In other words, they realised they won't be able to sell other dlc, unless they finally deal with the ending debacle. And apparently they "personalized" the ending (probably meaning: epilogue like the one in DAO).

Well, it's something, at least.
Mind you, if this announcement came a few weeks ago, there would've had a lot more happy customers than now..

Hmm, not that I'm really complaining but this won't be interactive? Where we the players take control again? Also it still seems like they are going to just clarify them not add anything else. Or am I looking at this wrong?

That's why I'm waiting one more day to see if they give a bit more detail on it but my first reaction is "Is that it? Free or not I just don't want a bad ending clarified.  But deep down I kinda knew that Bioware would stick to their "Artistic" view.

I'm going to take back what I said about trying not to be excited, because I don't think that's how I feel at all. In fact I have a horrible feeling in my stomach now.....great.

I swear we'd debunked something like this a long time back, it came from 4Chan... O.o and it now looks like it might be partially true? WTH?!?!

Given all that BW and EA have said to date, it's not that much of a surprise that they are providing "further clarity" and giving "greater insights" into the ending rather than wholesale changing.  We all know that EA is one of those companies who will not under any circumstances admit a mistake, so this is the best we will get, I guess.

I for one will not be breaking out the champagne until more details emerge, or after some fan reviews of this so-called "Extended Cut".  If it makes the cut (sorry!), then I will immediately go out and purchase From Ashes (I'd intended to buy, but have been holding off due to the fiasco), and any other paid DLC that gets released.  If it doesn't cut it, then I'm done.  Time will tell guys, but let's at least be proud of what we have accomplished here.  Like I said before, EA is not one to budge, and we got it to budge, at least a little.  Yay us!!

Well, I REALLY wanted new endings, but I never expected it to happen. The "extended ending cut" is probably the best we will get. Good thing I purchased The Witcher 2 yesterday.

Would it really be that hard to make an indoctrination ending? All of the things needed to carry on the story are already in the final moments, whether intentional or not. Fallout 3 did it, why can't Bioware? Will download this because it may make the ending more bearable, but I'm not impressed Bioware.

Looks like Bioware won't be getting any more of my money.

I apologize for some of the messages you got while in this thread, rudeness is uncalled for, even if the sad fact remains that most threads on internet are destined to develop in to a club for like-minded individuals only, and when the said development has taken place, it is almost never worth the trouble to try to change it.
So whether I came across sincere or not, I truly did, and do, feel like your cause would fair better on some other thread.

Javik is actually a good thing to have, even if the endings are less than desirable. I purchased the DDE so I had it on launch date. IMHO it's a good deal, despite the endings.

About the extended cut... I don't know... will just wait and see...

We don't have enough information to make any kind of informed judgement on that yet. Patience, until we hear more details we might as well celebrate the fact that we know at least something is being done. Later we can worry about whether or not it's enough, but not until we have information.

No explanation will redo the LIES they told us.

Money. Hell of a lot cheaper to throw few cinematics together than to actually create , say 30mins to 1h, of more gameplay.

Its still a good sign. Not sure how other folks feel but I've been fearing no action at all, or mp dlc only. This is much more reason to hope. Additional content could mean the option to bypass or reject starchild, which is enough for me to Hope.

The problem is, as much as I'm am loathe to admit it, that they probably don't see that as a viable option because there are a many people who seem perfectly happy with the ending as it stands. By using the Indoc theory they would be basically invalidating those people's endings. What I do wish they would do is add in some extra options so that we do have the choice that we were promised.
