Would it really be that hard to make an indoctrination ending? All of the things needed to carry on the story are already in the final moments, whether intentional or not. Fallout 3 did it, why can't Bioware? Will download this because it may make the ending more bearable, but I'm not impressed Bioware.

Arrgh, you used it's name, now you will awaken the forum beast!

To be honest, I'd prefer an IT ending over the attempt  to explain the endings everytime!...And I'm not even in favor of IT....

Could be worse, the cut scene could consist of Casey blowing a raspberry.

I'd punch my tv if that's what it was...

If that's what the end consists of, my TV is out the window.

Ill agree with some of these posts, we all feel happy about EA's response on that post, and feel grateful, on one hand ill understand, we like that they listen and actually do something.
But on the other hand, its still just fixing clarification and adding epilogue or something, we had endless threads that we would not agree to something like that, we want different endings. Not clarification.

Maybe this is all we can expect from them, but its not what we signed on for.
But hey, we will see what happens at PAX.

Keep in mind people, this is a Corporate Press Release. We need more information before coming to a conclusion.

So I think this press release pretty much answers the question put out there by the original poster 2844 pages ago...

So we can't get the ending we want after all?

No, we can't.

The line has been broken

I like it, that they will make more scenes to explain what happens.
But if my choices that I made during the game won't influence those scenes, I still won't buy a DLC.

But if those choices I make during the game really start to influence what happens after StarBrat®
I will think of this as a victory and of course buy DLC Content.

The problem is, as much as I'm am loathe to admit it, that they probably don't see that as a viable option because there are a many people who seem perfectly happy with the ending as it stands. By using the Indoc theory they would be basically invalidating those people's endings. What I do wish they would do is add in some extra options so that we do have the choice that we were promised.

They can't use the indoc theory. Why? Because we made it up. I've not seen an instance before where a creative medium took exactly what the fans wrote as story.
There's a whole lot of strings attached to that. I will wait for tomorrow as well. The description is pretty vague.

But hey, we made it this far! Keep holding the line until we have an absolute statement.

except this is more "movie like" than DAO, i would hate to see just a few text boxes! especially since this is the end of this trilogy...

Yup, extended cut scenes/cinematics, so it should be more "movie like" (and not just static images like in DAO), it could mean that.. or it could mean they add more scenes of the final battle (one can dream heh), maybe add a bit where those two teammates that were with Shepard find him/her if Shepard lived after choosing 'destroy'.. who knows..

Most probably they've added back the scenes that were supposedly cut from the game (like the extra Anderson talk and that bit with Joker returning to the fight), and worked around that. At least, that's what I'm expecting (so as not to get too dissapointed).

Keep in mind that they haven't released any of the OTHER DLC yet.. they could very well change things during that. Keeping an open mind, will try this out before I decide on further steps!

Hold the line!

I'm going to take back what I said about trying not to be excited, because I don't think that's how I feel at all. In fact I have a horrible feeling in my stomach now.....great.

Same here, I feel like I've just been given the preview to the blow I'm going to receive tomorrow

Yeah...same. Man why do I have to be such a hopeful person? it hurts all the more.....

Well, I dunno about the rest of you guys, but I was here to fight for an optional "ride off into the sunset" ending w/ your LI.

Looks like Bioware won't be getting any more of my money.

with you on that brother...
It doesnt matter what Bioware thinks and which ending is CANON they can pick theirs aslong as we have our good ending with LI and happy ever after...

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Apr 05, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- BioWare, a Label of Electronic Arts Inc. announced Mass Effect™ 3: Extended Cut, a downloadable content pack that will expand upon the events at the end of the critically acclaimed Action RPG. Through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will give fans seeking further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3 deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes. Coming this summer, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will be available for download on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC for no extra charge*.

I'm sure this has already been picked apart.. but this is awesome Image IPB

Hmm, not that I'm really complaining but this won't be interactive? Where we the players take control again? Also it still seems like they are going to just clarify them not add anything else. Or am I looking at this wrong?

nope if i got the cinamatice clarification pitch as well. we shall see tomorrow.

Yeah I want to hear it straight from them as well before I jump to conclusions, but it's hard to stay hopeful, when that "clarification" word is thrown around so much. Heres hoping Bioware comes out of this heroes or at least the people we have trusted all this time.

The closer it gets the further I want it to be. That's how nervous I am.

Do they not understand that giving us closure for our squadmates doesn't fix the gaping plot holes? And every ending will be terrible anyway.

It didnt matter that Shep allied the galaxy, they all starved to death
It didn't matter who Shep romanced, they were stranded somewhere (either on the forest planet or at earth with the fleet)
Nothing you did previously matters because you have screwed over the Galaxy.

We have all been rEAped

I admit, first time I read it, I was really happy. Re-read it and then I saw "cutscene" "clarity" "expand." So basically it's just a cut scenes pack. No gameplay?

I really hope they give more details at PAX.

I appreciate this being done for free, but man, one of the worst things is that it becomes a lot easier to label us whiny and entitled if we express dissatisfaction with a free release.

And keep that in mind, because the only thing your going to be left with at the end of the day is to vote with your wallet.

i am happy for you, but it still leaves the the fact you destroy the mass relays and the only true way to defeat the reapers is by commiting mass genocide. As i said before if this is there reply my mass set will be returned on sat morning i will not wait for an ending i dont like to be clarified to me as if i dont have the intelligence to not understand.
