Come on folks, we only have that information without any details, we all wanted something other than starbrat but we also knew it was very unlikely he would go, until we have details lets not start a ruckus.

Aye, there is also scope there for a lot of improvement. The current end has so many holes in it that there is plenty of room to change the whole end with what they offer. They know what we want, the message has got through. This even says it will be free, that is a colossal victory when you think of the corporate background.

(selfish mode)..might even get the option for the happy ending I so desperately want.

Wait. I just woke up and I'm so confused.
Let me see if I got this straight: they're releasing an extended cut?

....They weren't listening at all :crying:
They don't get iiiiiiit.
This isn't about knowing what happened to the Normandy (because I can clearly see that they are stuck in some tropical country) or show more colorful explosions.
How are they going to explain all those plotholes?! Unless it goes back to before meeting stupid creepy kid...and not crashing Normandy...

*sighs*

I'm just...I...I don't even know what to say anymore.

so, wait they are going to "clarify" the current endings??

.....

Great, just great. So we get the whole everything is destroyed crew on some jungle island and shepard dead(or alive....if that breath is any point to it).

Not sure if I'm happy with this, but I'm going to wait for tomorrow to see if they have anything else to say about it. Because if my shep doesn't get an ending with Kaidan( I'm a femshep). then there is no way I'll but anything else from bioware OR ea.

I'll just stick to steam and the indie games.

I'll give Bioware a chance to explain themselves at PAX. If it really is just a bunch of text blocks then forget it.

And oh boy I am going to love how they try to explain Shepard living in the Good Destroy ending.

If the announcement is true AND if I'm reading it properly and it's a "clarification of existing endings + epilogue of existing endings" then it's more corporate strategy / positioning ... grrrrr.

If the above is true this is one of those "apply the least effort so we can get them to shut up" moves.

Lets face it:

-- Some Retakers may think this is the best compromise they'll get and will go away
-- Some Retakers may just give up because BW isn't listening to their specific needs
-- Some Retakers may be pleased enough with what they get to go away

I suspect that those folks that are left won't be enough to keep the Retake movement going.

Note: I figure I'm going to be one of those folks left out in the cold. I wanted new endings that complied with the spirit of BW's prelaunch statements. Not choices of slavery / ethnocide / genocide with an Epilogue attached that will give everyone a "unique ending shaped by their choices" ...

bah humbug

So, basically what they're telling us this morning is that to maintain their "artistic integrity," they're going to ignore the fact that the ending is so broken and full of plot holes that you can drive the Crucible through it, throw us some cut-scene or static image epilogue that explains why we didn't understand it in the first place, and call it good?

I will try my best to reserve judgment until we know more, but at the moment, this does not look good.

Seems to be that way but of course we have no information about when  this release will happen or what will be in the Extended Cut.

My best guess would be around   the holidays  because if they have all that ready to go before then... eyebrows should be raised about how much  they cut from the game to put into DLC.

We   also don't know what will be included in the extended cut... it could be a 30 secs more footage of X and  that would count as a "extended cut". So now its a wait and see what they saw at Pax  24 hours or so from now.

I'm trying to withhold judgement, but this just reeks of bad news. RIP Bioware, EA rEAped another game developer.

Great timing for this Video. . Let's face it, the Bioware we all fell in love with is gone. They have been assimilated by EA, and the Corporate culture.

Sorry for this ranting guys, but I feel I have to air this out somewhere, and this is the best place as everyone here is feeling the same way:
This "extended cut" isn't an ending, it's just EA rubbing salt in our wounds by making the bad ending longer.
The more I read about this, the more depressed I feel. My stomach feels as hollow as when I finished ME3. I honestly can't believe after all the feedback Bioware have got from us about why the ending was bad, they just decided to extend it. I can't even find the words for how idiotic it is.
May actually need to see a phyciatrist about this soon.

That is exactly what's in my thoughts at this moment.  If they can get enough ppl to jump for joy over this "free" dlc then they'll hope the retake movement will disappear and then they can go on with other dlc.

They're smart enough to know a few seconds wont cut it. I would expect that extended cut means someting substantial. It would be good if the PAX attendees consider appropriate questions to clarify the amount of content, although I'd say the BW team will have an answer sorted already.

Aww Liara hug!

I'd like to get in on this hope, but like others have said this smells of a diversion tactic. They'll probably redirect questions to this release. <_<

Guys, I'm depressed as well...actually, I didn't even expect much to begin with, so depressed is probably too strong a word.

Let's just all wait until PAX and see what they have to say about the extended cut. Nothing much we can do anyway....for now, at least.

I think they just think we are "mad" because ME3 is over and we can't say goodbye to the characters or to the story. That is absolutely not the case. Were they really reading? <_<

Also, does it make anyone else a little annoyed that the news came from EA rather than BSN(or Bioware itself)?

EDIT: if they are keeping this atrocity called ending, someone should ask about EMS for single player at PAX. That is another broken promise...

Reasons to not freak out yet:

1. We don't actually know what this content will entail and it's hard to think of any way that the current ending could be twisted to give closure. So who knows.

2. We fought hard and stuck to our guns in a positive way and actually changed something for better or worse.

3. We've done some good helping kids

4. It's free! So at least we'll all get to try it before deciding for ourselves whether we will continue to support BioWare.

5. We have affected the video game industry as a whole and in doing so exposed a few sites that we had believed to be on our side for what they really are
