This wouldn't be the first time my actual health has been affected by it, I haven't worried much over anything for over a year and then this happened....now we have even more crap to deal with in their free poo shiner.

Remember folks, we've been holding the line for weeks now, news like this is bound to get emotions running strong as many people are feeling the strain. Try to stay calm as our outbursts will be monitored -Forbes has already noted this and DJbare mentioned it above too.
I intend to lurk here and hope for sleep, then take my dog to the park tomorrow. The latter is always good for stressful situations and heartily recommended under the circumstances.

Refuse to purchase EA/BioWare products I suppose. Also you shouldn't download the "free" (probably already on the disc) clarification.
well, that goes without saying.
i was more thinking along the lines of the retake movement and the following days/weeks if this is the only thing we're supposed to get.

Welcome back! I hear ya, way too keyed up to sleep at the moment.
People are definitely feeling the strain. Even if this DLC doesn't make enough people happy, its mere announcement has managed to cause enough fractures in the movement that I think the whole thing is going to fall apart anyway.

but as for everything else. if this turns out to 'not' be what we want, i guess we'll need some new ideas to express our views and ideas about the ending. we've turned it around and decided to do something good and donated to charity, we sent dozens of mails and letters and we even gave them cupcakes.
what now?

Wait. I just woke up and I'm so confused.
Let me see if I got this straight: they're releasing an extended cut?
Aparentemente só alguns vídeos "explicando" o que aconteceu... Uma bosta, mas eu não esperava muito mais do que isso mesmo. Tomara que nenhum dos moderadores fale português... aeuhauh
Apparently, just some videos "clarifying" what happened... Sad, but I wasn't expecting much more than that.
Hhuahua, a beleza de falar português. Se eu nao me engano, so tem uma pessoa na equipe que eh brasileiro, e ele nao fica aqui nao
This is so depressing. I just hope they give us at least the "investigate" on the dialogue wheel when talking to the kid.
Nós não vamos desistir, vamos?
We will fight! This is NOT what we want!
ehehhee... sinceramente eu to bem cansado... eu realmente queria um final de verdade, mas pelo jeito eles não querem mais os fãs deles. Deixa que eles tentem lutar com a Activision pelos CoD'ers. Vão perder feio. Ontem eu comprei o The Witcher 2... Parece bem interessante.
Sorry for the words in Portuguese folks... I won't translate because they don't add anything significant to the thread. Except something about Tali's face, but nothing we could change. It was an honour to fight alongside you all!
A military salute to all of you!

The time scale; As I noted over the last two days the longer it takes for the DLC to be released the more content it will contain. Therefore the greater the odds it will contain other endings. I'd have been far more worried if they had indicated the DLC would be out next week.
The term used; 'Expanded ending' is the exact same term I used myself several times, and not in the negative sense. 'Expanded' *could* be used for a 'double' ending that picks up from the current one...although the fact that they have apparently not called in the actors to record new dialogue would seem to discount this. However, the time issue comes into play once again - there is still (presumably) time for them to call the actors back in to record new stuff. It is also possible that they will get new vocals recorded when the actors come back to record material for other DLC that is planned - Mike Meer did indicate that he was due to go in to do more recording at some point several weeks ago.
I'll hold off passing judgement until I see what they have to say (or avoid saying) at PAX, and probably hold off further judgement until I've had a chance to see the DLC for myself. If it is as insulting and minimal as I fear, then Bioware and EA will see no more of my money...unless I decide to walk past them in their cardboard boxes in a few years time and wave some in their faces and laugh at their 'Artistic integrity' and where its put them.

I'm really not going for "unconditional surrender" as the only option BW has.
I've already stated why the ending, in the present form, is a giant show of incompetence and disdain for the fans.
I respect the fact that this is BW's game - while the space kid sequence is very bad and very difficult to salvage, if they want to work that angle - fine.
BUT - this doesn't mean they (BW and EA) get a free pass.
The ending sucked, because it threw away everything the player did throughout the whole series, to get across the message, that only BW's opinion matters, and no matter how we play our story, and what choices we make, the game has to end the way BioWare wants it to end, not the way that we've been working toward this whole time.
In an RPG, that's an unforgivable transgression.
For now, the ball is in BW's court - if the ending is "expanded", to include all our important choices, from the rachni, to the genophage, to geth and all the minor details in between - that's good.
Remember - the first, and biggest charge against the ending, was that it wasn't connected in any way to what we did, nor did it explain what happened afterward, instead leaving it all to "speculation".
BW just took a solid punch to the gut, and that's right in our lane - the message here is clear - YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH BAD QUALITY IF YOU PASS IT OFF AS ART.
BW wanted the easy way out - just toss the players a few scraps, and tell them to make up their own minds - no deal. We paid for a complete product, so complete it - finish the ending.
However - if all this new content does is give you a single set of cutscenes, "explaining" that this was a "different kind of explosion", and the galaxy was not annihilated in a flurry of relays going "kabloey!", and that the survivors somehow got on with their unspecified lives - that will be the final cofin nail. The last emergency induction port if you will.
For me, the "minimum list" of things that MUST be included in the "extended cut":
1. A direct translation of EMS to end result. Not just a set of thresholds (if EMS>2800, you can pick green) - otherwise the whole thing loses any meaning beyond "higher/lower than X"
2. Consequences of curing/not curing the genophage. Do the krogan go after the salarians? What about the rachni? What of the geth/quarians. All the "major" decisions that we made should be explained in much greater detail.
3. the final choice does not reflect Shepard's character. Ok, so BW is absolutely certain that the crucible works by means of human sacrifice, and the trigger mechanism is activated by either electrocuting yourself, jumping off a cliff, or shooting stuff that blows up in your face. So what if Shepard was a giant ****, and chose the soylent ending? Does that mean, that the Reapers can now subjugate the whole galaxy with the flick of a switch (being the most advanced life forms in existence and all)? What if you control the reapers, but you were a complete bastard? Do the reapers become self appointed vigilantes, keeping the peace in the galaxy by lazoring all dissidents?
And finally - simply "expanding" the endings, does not undo all the stupid sh** done so far - artistic vision or no artistic vision.

I have always supported Bioware and bought their DLC without thinking twice. But until this ending is fixed I will boycott all of Bioware's future games and DLC. I just can't justify supporting a company that won't support it's fans. it will be hard, but If I can help change the way they do buissiness then I will gladly suffer through this.

Us- "Give us endings that make sense!"
Them- "Here, we just extended the ones you already have problems with"
Me- *facepalm*
Whoever is making these choices really needs to re-evaluate their career choices, cause come on...this is just asking for trouble IF they are just extending what we already have.
Plus, lets face it, extending on the current pile of c**p will just mean they are adding to the already plot hole ruined ending to make it plot chasmed ending (see what I did there?).
Oh wells, Guild Wars might be a better option, or the Elder Scrolls MMO that is coming. ME3, TOR and DA2...I think BW has finally been completely EAed.
That's not the worst bit: It's to be released "in summer".
Summer... let me see, that's how many months away? Well, it's the fifth of April now, so that's about 25 days until the beginning, but I'd bet EA will not release in July, so that'd be nearly up to three months.
Imagine this: Three months to give us a minute or two of extra content, in the form of cutscenes and I'd bet maybe an "investigate" option with one or two characters at the end. Now that I think about it: Activision and it's yearly co-worker (IW or treyarch) give out a fully released game in 24 months, so that's around about 1/8th of a game in three months. Looks like EAware is getting lazy, or they're giving us about 1 hour of extra content.
One hour of extra content... nah, after what I've seen about EAWare's laziness, it's not gonna happen, is it?

Clarification is a vague term here. They said in their releases so far that we were apparently asking for clarification, but that is not what we said. It's PR talk.
Wait for tomorrow. Wait for PAX. The platoon there will hopefully get the answers we need.
I for one am happy that there has been a statement. Don't throw hate around before you definitely know what is coming.
Now stow those Revenants and get back in the line, we're not done yet and we're not leaving!

It's awful news, I say. No amounts of clarification will fix the ending. And I find it very hard to believe they'll do anything else after this. I'd have taken a paid DLC over free clarification any day.
Still here and holding the line, but I'm not hoping anymore. Now it's all bitterness.

Can we all at least admit that we're pleasantly surprised that it will be free?
I'm neither, to be honest. As I've said, I deeply appreciate that it's being done for free, but it effectively ends the backlash in many ways. People can't complain because it's free. People are disgusted that others are complaining because it's free. There's no way they'll redo a redo. Some people will be pleased, others will give up, or just tear each other apart.
At this point ... I should probably take the other poster's advice (forgot your name, sorry) and try to chill until we actually have more details.

That is my biggest fear. Because it's free then we really shouldn't complain anymore and if we do then we'll be called whiney entitled little brats. Taking my time and rereading the statement I still don't want my 4 other Shepards to go through another playthrough as clarity wasn't the only thing wrong with the ending.
