i'll wait for pax tomorrow, but i don't have any hope left. i don't think i'll stay around afterwards.
time to sell my collectors edition and everything else. i'm just so very tired of all this ****.
consumerist said it right 'stop treating your loyal customers like crap.'

so they're basically telling us that we're just too stupid to understand their ending? fair enough.

i'm just tired now. this has been an exhausting three weeks.
for the moment, it's been an honor with you guys, you kind of made it fun, you're all quite amazing.

silencemayday out for a while.

catch you tommorrow budy, lets go down fighting

Yeah, ill go down fighting(and raging after reading that bs blog) with both of you, brothers till the end!

its not about holding the line for ME 3  anymore ...  the ending is lost BUT... this, this is not over.

Its about making a move like this so  disastorous for a  Developer that  others don't do it again.  So we can't get them change endings fine.. they don't have to. None of us will by  DA 3, swotr subscriptions drop like some threw them in  black hole.  We spread the word to everyone... don't buy Bioware games or  EA products or if you are consoles buy them used.

They did not listen to our words- its time to start talking  with the wallets. Making so that  this gets Bioware and EA such negative press and burns the brand loyality.

Square Enix, Capcom , and everyone else who gets a bright Idea that its okay treat you consumers like this will think twice.

Such arrogance, unbelievable, especially for a gaming company.

Just watched a interview with Bethesdas executive producer at the time they retconned the ending and made broken steal dlc for fallout 3 , he even admits in the interview ,that his company made a mistake with the vanilla ending. This in contrast to Bioware shows how they really dont give a damn anymore.

QFE. Bethesda will now be the proud owners of my Bioware/EA money. I'm sure they'll appreciate it. I have an extra $15 a month now and I hear Skyrim has DLC coming and I don't have any of the New Vegas expansions. Guess Bethesda hit the jackpot.

i allmost unsubbed for SWToR, but i will wait and see for PAX, see what they know.
I was just out to dinner so i just read up on the last 20 or so pages, i wanted to reply to alot of them, but just to everyone really... I love you guys, im glad you embody my voice through all your posts...

Just so many thoughts in my head... i cant post anything that makes sense at the moment...
Waiting for PAX... trying to remain hope of some.... thing...

Im not trying to be defeatist, but this leaves pretty little room for interpretation.
Total lack of respect towards the fans BW. If this will be your final decision on PAX, you will have made a mistake.

I had such huge expectations going into this wholoe game and this movement, and twice, TWICE, my expectations have been crushed by some money making swindling cheepskates who don't know the first thing about listening to their fans, all they know how to do is how to listen to money, and almost all of the sales from ME3 were weeks 1 and 2 when it was all preorders... I wish I could go back to the day when I first picked up ME1 and tell myself not to get it because the third game is such a big disappointment. :crying:

At least you won't miss much. I'm not sure what I am going to do now either....I feel so sick, worse than before, My head is starting to hurt and I now cant stop crying again. It's like BioWare want to drive their fans over a cliff.

I wish I could slap my friend who suggested I play ME1, I would never have looked twice at ME1 if she hadn't suggested it. I am really not into Sci-Fi but when she suggested I play it, saying it was a brillaint RPG. I bought it for PC (and I hate pc gaming) I loved it from the moment it started up. Why can't I have a time machine? :crying:

EA would NEVER allow BW or any of its companies admit a mistake.  EVER.  They are just that kind of company.

It astounds me that EA and BioWare have the audacity to take this stance.  This is just bad business.

I have already stated we have lost.  EA and BioWare have pulled off an excellent solution to their immediate PR problem.  But will their shortsidedness here finally be the deathknell for EA/BioWare?  Probably not.  But, there is only so long a company can survive while operating strictly with a focus on the short term.

Exactly this! ^^ I run my own IT consultancy and we would NEVER use an excuse like that. If one of our clients came back unhappy we wouldn't tell them that it's our form of art so suck it up - we'd immediately try to rectify the situation or we'd lose our clients!

Sent as my reason for my cancellation.

"I am cancelling my subscription because of the complete lack of respect and dignity shown to Bioware's fans over the ending to Mass Effect 3. The poor quality of both that game and Bioware's handling of the majority of its fans demands is appalling. We do NOT want clarification, we want the endings and content we were promised. The artistic vision statement is crap as other game developers have done the exact same thing before and did not violate their integrity. I will not be buying another EA or Bioware game again until BW/EA fix their mistake properly."

Well said. Its hard to believe that Bioware went from the company that included Tali and Garrus as LI's because that's what we wanted to.. this. The power of EA, its too strong. Glad Drew made it out in time. Something tells me the masterful story teller saw this coming.

Agreed, too bad Bioware had to be indoctrinated by EA. They used to be quite something.

EA, where great devs go to die.

Yep, just like Westwood, Origin Systems, Bullfrog, and countless others...

But I'm still holding the line (just send a message about artistic integrity at contact@bioware.com), that's all I can do.

uugh.. I kinda figured they'd take that route.. It initially requires the least amount of overhead and secures the position of the two people responsible for the ending ( not the entire team mind you, just their two little pets ).
Now for the extreme. its time to vote with your wallets. return your EA games, cancel subscriptions and refuse to purchase anything from EA including Bioware ) again. It shouldnt be too hard. After all, over the last year and a half, we've been presented with greater and greater depths of schlock and left with a bad taste in our mouths on everything from COD to ME3.. I wish this were a real war. I'd have a solution for their "artistic" integrity. But its not real war, and i'm supposed to be a semi peaceful buddhist monk wannabe. (sigh) Sometimes I miss the days of shotgun justice..

I'm happy about this news? No. I'll play more Bioware games? Only by Piratebay. I never will pay for Bioware and Ea games anymore.
Now I'm waiting for The Witcher Enchanced Editeion (for free on PC) and Diablo 3, that will be in Brazilian portuguese, audio and subtitles.

I took out Bioware from my list of favorite game companies. Only CD Porjeckt, Blizzard and Rockstar remains.

I will play this crappy extended ending just to see the **** it will be. But no more money from me, thats sure.

This 'extended ending' hasn't been made yet, we can't give up now. I still have some hope that they - despite all the talk of 'clarification' - will make something good out of this dlc. To simply withdraw now is out of the question, we have to keep telling them how we wish the the new content to be. Again, there is a possibility that they will surprise us positively. A small possibility, but never the less a possibility!
I will not ley myself be disappointed until the dlc is actually realeased. :D

Just thought of a great analogy for the endings:

It's like if in Lord of the Rings, Frodo got to Mt Doom and found out from Sauron's flaming ghost child that the ring could only be destroyed by also destroying all of Middle Earth, and he did it anyway.

I honestly do wonder if anyone within the management of Bioware has actually seen the endings?

I'm still amazed that so many gaming sights like IGN and GameInformer are still coming to BW's defense. Endings aside, ME3 has way too many issues to have received the high score it did. There's still the face patch issue and MP operations still haven't received most of their prizes from las weekend's challenge. The same thing happened the last time they did a MP challenge too. There an abundance of MP issues: the big one is the disconnecting from the server.

And yet in the face of all these glaring problems, BW and EA refuse to admit that it's anything on their end. I had an issue with the Datapad app (which I've currently given up on) and I spent 5 days going back and forth with an EA tech to figure out what the issue was. It ultimately came down to him saying that the reason the app did not recognize an interent connection is because my Origin login password was too long. Really? I just ended it there because that was the stupidest thing I've ever heard. EA's statement after having received worst company award just cements their hubris in my eyes.

To me, it's utterly unfathomable how two companies can treat their customers - I refuse to use the word fan at this point - this badly and expect us to keep coming back for more. It's just bad business.

Well, it's kind of what I expected, but I'm still disappointed. It's like BioWare just ignored all of the fans suggestions and input, heard what they wanted to hear and are now trying to shut us up with this, because it's free.

I guess all we can do for the moment is wait and see if this "clarification" will be satisfying (which I highly doubt). Spraying air freshener on a can of garbage doesn't turn it into something else. If it stays bad and filled with plotholes, BioWare and EA will have lost me as a customer for good, I'd rather support Bethesda or Valve...or indie studios, point being there's plenty of other companies my money can go to, it just is really sad :( Guess I can always play some good old Shattered Steel, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights or Kotor :/

If they start saying things like “I wanted the ending CHANGED not

that classification. This is a win for fans and a concession from
Bioware, plain and simple.

You lose. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars.

no, it's not. This article is not from Erik Kain.
And while it is a concession, this is not final.

I will reserve judgment until the dlc comes out - we'll see if they can salvage the ending. But if all this does is send a message, that only BioWare's opinion matters, and we are stupid - that's a whole different story.

As I recently posted in the actual news forum, just so proud of it that I felt that it had to be repeated here:

Currently, Bethesda developers are in a meeting with something along the lines of this being said:
"Perkins, what's the news with EA and Bioware?"
"They f**ked up, sir."
"Alright, that's our cue gentlemen, what do we have on the table to bring in the angry Bioware fans?"
"We should have something to show off by the time they're done with their statement at PAX, sir."
"Excellent, this is the moment we knew was coming for a month now, remember everyone, put on your honest faces and halos, they won't be able to resist the offers of DLC we can give them."
"Sir, apparently several other companies are also preparing DLC and news about their games to drive the population away from Mass Effect 3, should we do something about it?"
"No Perkins, We'll all work together on this one and blow Bioware out of business in one fell swoop."
"Sir, you're a genius, no wonder we aren't in the position they're in."
"I know, right? What kind of idiot writer thinks that people would be happy with a kid apparently controlling everything, and then seeing everyone they know and love being stranded on a planet with some of your best friends doomed to starvation and the rest doomed to die from overpopulation?"

Image IPB

I feel so proud of myself... is that a bad thing?

Edit: Yeah, yeah, no images... I'll take that into account in the future.

Checking in. Still here. Still holding the line.

Yes, I've got myself up to date on recent events.

I'll be back when my computer is not in danger of becoming collateral damage.
