Bioware came up with it, obviously.  :innocent:  You know,  I think they should take it a step further.. make a statement they won't release patches for game bugs anymore, because, after all, it's not a game, it's aaaart.

(p.s.  I'm being sarcastic and, also, silly) 

*sighs* Honestly, they just set a scary precedent. I can now see video game companies making horrible games, not hearing any feedback and saying that they won't change anything because it will harm their "artistic integrity" <_<

Not really a precedent, I think, they're just making excuses for themselves. And we're all seeing through them, not that it made a difference (unfortunately).

I wish I could slap my friend who suggested I play ME1, I would never have looked twice at ME1 if she hadn't suggested it. I am really not into Sci-Fi but when she suggested I play it, saying it was a brillaint RPG. I bought it for PC (and I hate pc gaming) I loved it from the moment it started up. Why can't I have a time machine? 

Well, I have been planning in opening my own game development studio for years now... Due to lack of resources ($) I never did. But now, I think my studio may get into the market before the end of 2012. And I WILL listen to consumers. I already have an idea for a game, will be very dark and dense, not a RPG, more a "suspense/horror". But you may be sure I'll make a RPG worth playing. And in the same level of "epicness" of the first ME... Sci-fi for sure. 
I'm not kidding. I droped out of Computer Science college a few years ago... had some personnal problems then... Now I'm going for a Math degree. As soon as I register my trademarks and brandname, I'll tell you guys, so you can check it out what I'll do.

It is a shame, that Alpha Protocol IP fell. Perhaps it was inferior to previous Mass Effects...but hell, their ending was pretty awesome compared to "Artistic Integrity".

Mass Effect Franchise- Offically the single largest waste of time and money in my life. Oh well I guess now that I won't spend money on DLC, or future Bioware games I'll have more to spend on Bungie and Bethesda.

Anyone know if Bethesda interacts with their fans at all? Need to decide if all my Bioware praising time will be divided evenly between Bethesda and Bungie or just go all in on Bungie.

Something else just occurred to me, I hope the people from EA/BW that are going to PAX have riot shields and body armor.

Before that statement, there was a chance things could get messy, after that statement, I don't see how they'll avoid a near riot (not that I condone it one bit).

You couldn't pay me enough to stand up there with an EA/BW shirt on at this point. That would be like strapping steak to my butt and tossing me in a tiger cage.

I just had a funny thought 18 months from now they announce ME4 and they ask the 'fan base' what they would like to see in the game people should turn round and say could we have 3 endings but could they be in orange pink and yellow.

Not a riot, but I think that MANY people will simply shout at them when they enter the stage. There is no way that they can avoic the consequences of their blog. People will "Booh!" at them, and the only question asked will be: "Now that you disappointed your customers, what will you do next?!".

Man, that was devastating...to think that a company can pass off terrible decisions and weak plot choices as artistic integrity really just crushed the games industry. Perhaps the better companies will see this whole debacle and just put it out of their minds and make acceptable products that will please their customers (you know, us guys that pay the bills) and not hide behind their misformed ideas of what 'artistic integrity' is.

All they are trying to do is appease us, or create a fracture in the Retake Movement.

And I can totally see another developer under EA making bad games and using the same excuse...
