Unfortunately I was the one who threw the initial announcement up on the forum here haha.  I was sitting in Tim Hortons (donut shop up here) waiting for my breakfast and surfing EA/Google news and saw the thing come over, so I came on over here and threw it up thinking that it HAD to have already been spread around.. apparently not..  I'm guessing they googled and 411'd my name/twitter or something, I don't have my cell phone floating around a lot of places.

15 minutes later and my phone started ringing off the hook as I got SMS's accusing me of 'trolling' and 'making it up' despite the link being marke****ch and shortly after, investors.ea.com lol.  It's been like that all morning.  I unblocked Long distance SMSing about 20 minutes ago and it's trickled down to 2 SMS's since.  Hoping it's moved on.. I feel like I accidentally stepped off the line and ended up in the target zone here.  I understand the fear Bioware must feel on the receiving end of our rage now hahaha. Image IPB

That's...that's scary. Why would people even try to find your number to accuse you of stuff like that? Seriously, it's all over the internet now. And if it was on the EA website...well, it had to be true. <_<

I'm sorry you had to go through that. But thanks for giving us the news. I woke up and it was already all over this thread and it's been a bad couple of hours...

No we lost.

All they are trying to do is appease us, or create a fracture in the Retake Movement.
I'm telling you right now. I'm not appeased at all and I'll be damned before I let anyone sway me.

Hold the Line.

This may be a bone they are throwing at us, but, since their decision was already made, i don't think there is any point in holding the line anymore........

That is the talk of a loser.
You fall of a horse you climb up there in that saddle and show the horse who is boss.
You get kicked down and you get back to your feet, to strike back.
You start thinking like you lost and you'll never win.

And even if they keep it at that, even if you might lose, you will in the end know you gave it your damned best chance to make a difference.
Take a stance, pull up that thing you call a spine and straighten your back.
We give in now, we'll never make a change at all!

Hm, you got me an idea. Just received my new bow for LARP today. I can aswell put my copy of ME3 on a piece of wood and use it as target practice. It would serve a purpose of "Satisfaction" then...

Put a video of it up on youtube. That might get the point across.

That will be our clarification...

Well the Mass Effect twitter account has just announced that the Bioware team is at PAX and to please stop by room 105 and see them...... oh if I could only get a ticket and corner them (nicely but firmly) until we get exact details of what is going on.

I would just give them my copy of ME3 ME2 and ME1 and say this was a great franchise till the last 5 minutes what the hell where you thinking?

Wonder what will happen at PAX now? Oh well we shall find out within the next 24 hours depending on you're time zones.

Nah don't be.. it was hilarious actually.. I was shocked at first, then confused, then amused.  I've removed my cell phone from where I assume they got it now and the calls just dropped off fairly quick afterwards.  Internet is a scary place haha.  I honestly figured it HAD to have been up here already.. it just seemed too big and I was like 4 or 5 minutes after the article went up lol.

If Bioware ask us to take it down, say no on the grounds that it's our "artistic integrity".

Bioware. If you like it or not. One day we will have it our way. What is done CAN be undone. We will NOT thank you for adding sprinkles onto the crap of a ending.

I for one will never stop demanding what Mass Effect has earned. If you are that LAZY, move over for someone who gives a damn and get lost.

Lazy? It's not about being lazy. It's about not having the time, nor the money to do what people are, somewhat unreasonably, demanding.

(dear God, I hope not.. although, I can see it now..)

And I can totally see another developer under EA making bad games and using the same excuse...

Well, I'm sure they've probably done something similar, considering all other franchises they've already ruined.  EA logo should really have this written underneath it: "Abandon hope all ye who enter here"..

I have been asked to remind people that Amazon is still accepting full no-questions asked refunds on ME3 by a member who is not longer able to post in this thread. (They called EA customer support and had their registration codes revoked, which is why they can't post in this tread.)

You're being overly hopeful. If we want a REAL change we need to change the movement to "Rewrite Mass Effect" and get the modding community in on it. If we want new endings we're going to have to put them together ourselves.

Don't "hold the line". Crack open the files on your copy, get organized, and start coding.

That's not true. Look at FO3. They actually changed the ending, after consumer complains. And they were courageous enough to admit it. I think Bethesda showed actual fan loyalty there. So no, I'm not content with what BioWare's doing. They lied to us via their advertising, they got snotty and claimed it was artistic integrity that is at stake (again a lie) and now they change the ending only in such a slight way that it seems like an insult to their fan-base. Release date summer? Is that June? July? May? I don't know, I don't care. I don't want to wait that long for a DLC which ignores the massive plot-holes and non-sensical / illogical story elements. That is not damage control. I would bet that those which seek more closure will not be satisfied by it. I sure as hell won't.

I will still support the #RetakeME3 movement. But until they admit that the ending is nonsensical, I will boycott BioWare.

And yet you have to respect their decision (doesn't mean you have to be happy about it, i sure as hell am not).

They made their choice and will live with the consequences.

What can i do now? grab a molotov and burn bioware??No.
The only thing i can do is not buy anything from them ever again.
The only way to hurt them is with our wallets.

I can't think of a quicker fix then slapping some scenes on the end. Being unreasonable would be something like "Remake the game". No. Fix the ending. It gives off the reaking oder of lazyness.

Yeah, that Extended ending is NOT god enough in my eyes BioWare. So i guess Mass Effect 3 is going to be sadly the last game i will be buying from BioWare.
I rather give my money to CD PROJECT who makes great games but also values me as a customer more than BioWare seems to do.

Short or long. Complex or simple. Nonsense is still nonsense. Bioware seems to be unable to accept they made something truly awful.

Actually there is nothing unreasonable about our so called demands

In any other industry, misleading and false marketing of the calibre Bioware put out for ME3 would give customers grounds for legal action. The gaming industry, being massive and having tons of revenue, believes it is above the free market rules that apply to every other product out there.

The fact is they made false promises that they are unwilling to fullfill. I swear if I was in the US I'd file an official complaint against them. Not just because of the endings, but because it's about time paying customers take a stance and say "No more". Enough is enough.

Well I'm disapointed, but not really suprised.  I have lost a lot of espect for Bioware since ME3.  I wasn't really upset about From Ashes at first, but then I played through the majority of the game with Javik in my squad.  The sheer amount of special dialogue between Javik and the NPCs indicates that he was origanily part of the game and was taken out.  I could be wrong, and Bioware decided to bring back all thier voice actors to do dialoge w/ Javik, but I don't think they did.  Then there is the ending, and thier reaction to the our concerns.  At first it was vauge "we're looking into it" responses and now they're going with "it's art, and we're not changeing it."  I obviosly don't know what's going on at Bioware, but it seems like since they were bought by EA their only concered with how much money they can ring out of us.  I'm still hopeing I'm wrong about Bioware, and they still care about thier fans.  For now Bioware/EA won't get any money from me.

Hold The Line.

Actually Laurencio ahs a point, in order to do the ending thing, they have to reedit the game, which emans they would have to rerelease the game, and honestly they are nto going to giev that out for free. Quite frankly yes i'm upset that Bioware is lieing when they say they are listening...but what annoys me is their lack of hoensty to admit they just don't wanna do it. They keep giving the Artistic integrity excuse. It's not really that they just don't want to expend the time or money to fix what they screwed up. Oh also there si this...

http://pastebin.com/ifPPbeTp

if it's fake fine, funny haha tease, but if it's real...Bioware owes everyone a big explanation.
