Just thought i'd repost. This is a very cool vid

This 100,000,000 times over and then another 100,000,000 times over again, and then for good measure another 42 times over.

P.S.

(be warned it is 39 min long but its sooooo damned interesting. it almost feels like a vid one of my english professor would show in class (in a good way))

P.P.S

it talks about how they broke genre, character focus, central conflict and the Narrative Coherence of the game; all in the last few moments of the game

Indoctrination proof!!

look at these segments

Blue ending - first minute. Total control of Sheppard. Ghost kid smirks (Illusive man's mistake)

Green ending - first minute. Assumed control of Sheppard through deception (Saren's mistake)

Red ending - first minute. No control of Sheppard. Ghost kid vaporized. Sheppard wakes up in rubbles of London
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7zY3WBT2q0

Just these facts are enough to have a 100% conviction that the last part of the ending, when Harbringer's eyes glow yellow during the final rush (Assuming Control), is an endoctrination attempt.

Enjoy!!!! :P

Actually Red Ending has the Kid going glitchy before vanishing.

Not a bad idea.If every retaker at PAX did this, it would have quite an impact.

As long as the preorder numbers are in the thousands instead of the millions, the point will be made. They will panic long before launch.

Since video games are now considered art, does that mean that we'll start seeing Video Game "Galleries" popping up all over the world?

Bioware. If you like it or not. One day we will have it our way. What is done CAN be undone. We will NOT thank you for adding sprinkles onto the crap of a ending.

I for one will never stop demanding what Mass Effect has earned. If you are that LAZY, move over for someone who gives a damn and get lost.

Lazy? It's not about being lazy. It's about not having the time, nor the money to do what people are, somewhat unreasonably, demanding.

Actually there is nothing unreasonable about our so called demands

In any other industry, misleading and false marketing of the calibre Bioware put out for ME3 would give customers grounds for legal action. The gaming industry, being massive and having tons of revenue, believes it is above the free market rules that apply to every other product out there.

The fact is they made false promises that they are unwilling to fullfill. I swear if I was in the US I'd file an official complaint against them. Not just because of the endings, but because it's about time paying customers take a stance and say "No more". Enough is enough.

Of course there is. You are demanding that they completely change part of the game that could potentially be linked to other projects under development. If so those projects become useless and the time and money spent on these projects are utterly useless. Resulting in massive losses, as well as disgruntled employes.

Now even if they did change the ending that would have cost them a considerably chunk of money, which would have to  be taken from other projects and development funds. Probably reducing the quality of potential masterpieces. It would talso take a lot of time, which impatient fans wouldn't be willing to wait for, and when they finally released it there is no guarantee that the fans would like this new ending one bit.

There are absolutely no grounds, at least not legally, for false advertising.

Wish I could join ya.

I don't give a flying F what projects Bioware may be cooking. Unless they fix the ME3 ending it'll be worthless, because I will never buy another product from them ever again.

Too many are too quick to give up.

That's why companies like EA continue to release garbage.

A bunch of people chatting on the forums is not going to fix companies like EA.  We did all that we reasonably could via a forum based protest medium.  We even raised money for charity and sent BioWare cupcakes.

We accomplished more than anyone expected, which is why EA is forced to offer what little they are.  But there is only so far this thread or this medium will carry us.  It still serves a purpose (mutual support, activity coordination, etc... but "holding the line" here just won't cut it).

There is only one language the evil corporations (not all corporations are evil) and that is the almighty dollar.  You hurt their bottom line and the shareholders get antsy.  You scare the shareholders enough and you will see major changes at the corporation.

I do not believe that people who are swearing off BioWare are giving up at all.  I believe they are using the most powerful weapon they have against corporate misdeeds; they are spending their money elsewhere, and I for one applaud their resolve.

I personally am postponing terminating my ToR subscription until I have had time to cool off, see what information comes out in the next few weeks, and make an informed decision.  I may even give them until I see the released ending content if I feel it has even an iota of potential.

Anything more would require BW to admit "yeah, we screwed up the ending so completely it has undone 100+ hours of epic gameplay, we will replace it with something appropriate".

This is basically what is being asked. This is no easy thing to admit, but it has to be done at some point.

I'll be tweeting a piece of my mind regarding this, and I recommend you do the same:

@GambleMike , Producer (and liar extraordinaire)
@KenThain Lead designer
@Bioware (Abusive corporation)
@robinmayne Development director, ME3 team
@manveerheir Senior designer

And now my favourites...the PR ppl:
@BioWong
@FemSteph

Let's share our thoughts shall we? After all, what's Twitter for if not to share...

PS: And no, despite being incredibly angry and disappointed, I am not asking ppl to go insult/bash these individuals. Just give them real feedback on their decision. Respectfully if you can. If not, wait, cool down, and get to it!

I'm not looking to start another art or no art debate, I think we went over that one already, but I'd say that video games can most certainly be art. It's right there in the definition of the word. "the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others."

But whoever came up with the idea that art, and especially commercial art, is somehow inscrutable and beyond reproach and set in stone forever.. now he needs a good kick in the quad.

"What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried so hard and got so far.
But in the end, it doesn't even matter
" - Linkin Park

This is my feelings right now about the whole thing. :unsure:

So is this when a rival company takes us all to into their fanbase? I guess this is the opportunity to the smaller developers to gain a bunch of new fans too...

Again, this is the attitude to have. If you want to make a point about DLC and fulfilling the promises that are made in the ads, this is what has to be done. All that the charity drives and cupcakes will accomplish is showing them that we have MORE MONEY that they can milk us for.

The reactions are just advertisements for them. Take no action, buy no games, buy no DLC, buy nothing with the Bioware logo, buy nothing made by EA.

THIS is how you will change how they do business.

I have strawberry liqueur thick enough to be a marmelade, blueberry liqueur strong enough to be whiskey, actual whiskey, some rum and vodka, some ouzo and white and red wine both, so I might be able to reach a state where I'll be tired enough to just go to sleep, not caring anymore.

Anyone wanna join pity boozing? :mellow:

Hell, I'd pay to get a decent ending that does the story justice. An ending that makes SENSE!
But trying to appease us with an 'explained' starchild? No Bioware...just no. That's as cheap as it gets...

I agree but I'm not coming down one one side of the fence or another until after PAX where we can (Hopefully) get an official statement
