And it hasn't occured to you that any changes they make, wether its to change the ending entirely or just to add explantions is going to take time. First they have to get the writers, then they have to get the programmers working on it. Make new cutscenes, etc. It all takes time and money. By releasing the DLC for free, they are losing a lot of money. If I understood it right, they are priotizing this over dlc that had been planned and would make some money.

On a side note, I know a lot of you are angry that it wasn't what you wanted. But I've seen from the movement that nobody could agree on what was wanted. Some people saying they wanted the endings changed but couldn't agree on what it should be changed too. Other people saying they just want some closure, but couldn't agree on what it should be. Then there is people like me that think that it doesn't need to be changed and that although closure would be nice, it wasn't required. Their announcement seems like a nice compromise. And since it hasn't been released yet, not a single one of you can say wether or not it will do the job. I can't honestly say it will close the supposed plot holes. I can't say that it won't.

No offense to you as you seem to be courteous enough, however the very fact that all you keep the enders are raving about what a fabulous compromise this is is an indicator of what a crap compromise it was. You guys get to keep your endings. That's pretty much been promised today. You guys win. That's okay though. Honestly the Retake movement was as much for Bioware as for ourselves. It was a second chance to make things right by an unprecedented number of fans. A do over if you will. Instead they decided to keep things exactly the same save some clarification. Heaven forbid there actually be multiple endings in a choice based game. I could literally go through all three games, roll a dice for every response and get the exact same ending minus some color maybe. The ending invalidates the entire illusion of choice as no matter what we pick along the way, we end up at the exact same destination. If you can't see why that's massively disappointing for fans then I dunno. I guess we have very differently views on the difference (or lack thereof) between an interactive media and a third party observer media where we're just there to watch a story unfold in the exact same way.

Well, I give them the benefit of the doubt, but honestly, I don't want to anymore. They ignored us, then told us kinda we are dumb to not understand their artistic vision and then the announce an extended DLC which will most likely be just a "how can you be so dumb and not understand our artistic vision"-DLC that explains what we clearly missed with more space magic.

But oh well, I already canceled all my preordered games from ANY developer until I get the first impressions of people who finished the game. Bioware further opened my eyes to informing myself what I get into before I buy a game. Sad really, that it had to be a Game developed by Bioware to accomplish that.

I've only just read this and I'm... well, speechless wouldn't be the word because here I am typing, but gob smacked definitely sums it up.

They have made a massive error in these endings. The plot holes are laughable, everything, EVERYTHING is absolutely illogical about it. So what they're doing is a cop out, with a few cut-scenes, that is going to add "clarity" to endings that we already understand, we just hate them because they're on the wrong game!!

This artistic integrity rubbish? Please! They've made a huge error with this ending and now they're trying to hide behind a vague term. We respect their artistic integrity, that's why we're telling them that the ending is awful. This is between us and them and the guys who used to listen to their fans have seemingly left us. I'm very disappointed. I hope that the guys and girls at PAX tomorrow give them a hard time (within reason). They should be ashamed and embarrassed, they really should.

Gah! I honestly think that everyone at Bioware is deluded. They probably released this news thinking "Oh, we've fixed everything! The fans are going to love this! We listened! We really did! Everything will go back to the way it was!"

No, Bioware. No it won't. You've burned your customer base to the ground with this. And your company has gone up in flames with it. This thing you're doing? It isn't a good thing. You've doomed yourselves.

I feel very, very sorry for the Bioware folks who have to be at PAX tomorrow.

After all when they released the game did they ever planned this ? no...

up to this point we've always been civil, we always held the other cheek, we were always eloquent and forgiving. but for what?

what did it get us in the end? and by 'end' i pretty much mean 'now'.
they've got us in a corner now. either be happy with their free crap, or really be the whiny and self-entitled brats they paint us as. yes, they are responding, but just with the minimum requirements. anything to just shut us the hell up.

we won't get what we wanted, so how did being civil actually do us any good?
the only good thing about the last few weeks? the charity.

of course they had to respond in some way, because we forced them to. the amazon refund story, all the returned copies at various stores, the mouth to mouth word, the attention from all the game sites, the drop in prices.
we forced them to pay attention to us, they had no other choice but to listen. but they actually decided to go with the minimum. they don't ****ing care. they just want us of their backs.

so what exactly did we achieve, huh? we're not one ****ing step closer to what we actually wanted. and now we're in a corner. now we don't get to say jack squat anymore.

they won. they ****ing tricked us into this damn corner.

yes, i'm angry. but when i'm angry, i also get abusive. and why the hell, can't i be exactly?
i think i've earned every ****ing right to be.

So Summer to get the lolclarification dlc. It's free, fine.. good. I can't see paying for something like this anyway. First day of Summer is June which seems really far away, but I knew this was coming when that awful blog post came from Muzyka.

Wonder how many/if any dlc will come out before hand and how many people are going to be saying omg I'm never buying anything from bioware again or dlc for the game, then turn around and buy it anyway....

Don't take this post the wrong way, clarification imo would be nice if done correctly. But I'd still rather have completely new ending options. THAT I would have actually paid for if it came down to it.
