I have been around the movement since page 600 or so. This is probably the most we are going to get out of EA/Bioware as far as the endings go. I am in a holding pattern right now, waiting to see what they did. If they didn't get it right or even close, then I will judge ME3, and Bioware, accordingly.

EA cannot allow BW to point to them as a reason for ME3's ending being bad, they can't admit any fault, they can't give in much since they are already suffering in the PR department. Don't expect anything else. Take a deep breath and leave an open mind for the DLC. If it is still broken, proceed to mourning and acceptance stages, because it won't change any more.

There are more eyes on Retake Mass Effect than the video game industry (why do you think Forbes is looking at this).  What we accomplish or fail to accomplish here can have far reaching consequences on the future nature of the relationship between corporation and consumer.

Retake Mass Effect states the customer is always right.  Places like IGN and EA seem to operate under a belief in corporate infallibility.

I no longer hold the line for new endings.  I hold the line for consumers everywhere.

I think the fact that this thread has gone into overdrive since the announcement is testament to the feelings fans have for it. Perhaps this is why the Twitter accounts are as vague as ever. Hopefully PAX will hold some SOLID answers. Something which seem to have become very rare from Bioware.

Bioware can never claim again that it listens to us. NEVER.

I hope Bioware goes bankrupt. Lets see what their precious "artistic integrity" is worth then...

It will be worth pretty as much as it is worth now...

I think this is worse then if they did nothing about the ending.

Here they are saying they have listened and this is their response? No alteration to the ending just more cutscences and clarification. The ending was the problem. Rewrite it dont add more to it. Instead of hating the last 10 minutes of the game you can now hate 15 minutes !

So there won't be any discussion on the DLC at PAX, for those of you that would rather give Bioware the benefit of the doubt.

I think I'll go bash my head against a wall now...

Don't worry, they've said they aren't going to  the ending in any further detail at PAX, but i doubt the fans(our PAX East Platoon) will let them do this.

This is a war my friend.  A war that goes far beyong ME3, BioWare, or even EA.  We are fighting a microcosm of the larger consumerist trends in society; just look at the comments on IGN about how we should be grateful EA gives us games at all.

Look at SOPA; the goverment tried to enact legislation to protect corporate interests and not the indiviudal (and people argued how wonderful this was).

Oddly enough I placed this as Mages (Customers) and Templars (IGN/EA)   and things made a lot more sense about the present situation and the level it's at.   Oddly enough I place Bioware in the shoes of Hawke.   :pinched:

Hi all, been lurking again since my last post (some 500 or so pages ago) every day i still checked this thread for news, still holding the line the whole time

What do I think of Bioware's recent DLC announcement? Well, I can understand the mixed feelings, heck, I'm sceptical myself. What do they mean by 'clarify' and 'artistic vision' ?
I don't know honestly, but im glad to see this movement has managed to make something happen.

I boycotted ME3 about 3 weeks ago, and still am now. which is very sad indeed considering how much i played the previous 2 games in comparison. I want to cling onto any hope that we may have. which for me right now is: Bioware have acknowledged us, and given how well we know they're script writing to be, I'm all up for giving them a second chance. Bioware says that its a company that listens to its fans, and to that i say: if that is the case, then we have nothing to worry about, as they should know full well by now what the fans will and won't accept.

I'd rather not download this dlc and find that it was not at all what the movement was fighting for. Mass effect from that day will be remembered as a near-perfect series that was botched at the last moment. and no one wants Mass effect to be remembered as that :( We love the franchise too much. I myself donated to the charity and wrote a polite letter argueing the points of our case to Bioware. Never before had I done anything like that for a game series I loved before. All to help the Retake ME3 effort.

to everyone feeling like we've lost: do not lose hope. as I've always said: it ain't over till it's over. and it definately ain't over yet. We've still got PAX yet to see the outcome of, and if they do indded do this dlc, then only once i've seen the finished thing for myself will I start seriously making decisions about whether or not Bioware or especially EA, will ever see my money again. (Cause as far as I'm concerned, I'd like to think this is EA's fault)
It may seem bleak, but right now: I'm willing to believe that Bioware will make everything right and end this series on the fine note it deserves: a good, meaningful ending that has a vast array of different variables based on our decisions, that, is ultimately what we have all fought for, and are still fighting for.

So long as one person still remains on this line: This line has not fallen! *Defiantly stands next to the flying UK fleet banner* I for one, do not intend to back down.

Same here. That's how much I love Mass Effect !

I cannot see how they are going to be able to avoid it, 80% of the Mass Effect fans going to PAX are going to be a loud voice to ignore.

According to her she has made no promises, can't control how we read her tweets...

"@[/s]DerrickLAFilm[/b] I'm not making any promises. If people want to misread my tweets that's nothing I can control."

Three tweets later:

@[/s]tmisawesome[/b] please find a tweet where I literally promise a gold ending. That term doesn't even mean the same thing to everyone :)
@[/s]DarthTeneo[/b] I'm not going to confirm or deny it. I believe in interpretation. And it's no secret I like the analysis as a fan.
My advice dear Jessica, STOP spewing bull****!

Seriously, the gall of these people is uncanny. Shame on them!

Then why even bother to hold one? If they're not going to answer questions about what we truly care, then...there is no need for a panel. Are they going to talk about DA3? This might be the worst timing to mention DA3, considering what happened to DA2 and now this...

I have a feeling they think that'll be enough. I hope enough of the platoon will be there. Imagine a whole panel where every answer will be "were not gonna go into that". Because many will be asking. Hopefully.
