Thanks Chmarr.. Much appreciated.
I commented on that site about that. I'm tired of people using simple math to justify us as a 'small vocal minority'. Here's a study on consumer who complain. It's in paragraph 2. "for every irritated
customer who complains, 26 do not, even though they have grievances."
Feel free to use it against anyone else who uses that stupid '60k people complained out of 3.5 million, so it's only 4% of the players who are upset'.

Okay, time for the really long post I've been thinking up since this morning:
First off. Once again, you people are crazy.. in an awesome kind of way.. I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather hold the line with.
Secondly. Stop.
Seriously.. just stop... that's right, take a second, take a break, step back from the line, take a look at what we've done.
You have scared Electronic Arts... the largest gaming conglomerate on the -planet-. The ones who have frogwalked entire awesome companies to their graves.. You have forced them to rethink future plans. You've made them accelerate plans to try to consolidate their supply/retail chain.
They want you to buy stuff from Origin. They want you to stop buying from Gamestop but not now.. because Gamestop is 15% of their gross annual revenue. We have enough people they are concerned about SECURITY at PAX.. the largest gaming convention in Boston. They're concerned about revenue, sales, enough that they told Bioware to fix it, and their co-founder made a public statement that they would.
If you want to hurt them, don't buy from Origin, don't buy from them.
I'll explain what I'm going to be doing now. I won't be preordering from Bioware again. I have preordered one game from Maxis, Simcity 5. I won't be buying any DLC from Electronic Arts until I've played this DLC. Should this DLC satisfy me, and really this is what I asked for... I would have liked the Indoctrination Theory endings... Those are pretty much the full Bioware loves me ending.. but if Bioware just gives me some ending cutscenes then they still gave me what I asked for... I'm not happy with the response, or the, frankly, false statements from some of the producers over the ending during prerelease interviews.
Due to those and the response from the media I will not be viewing IGN, or preordering Bioware games/EA games in the future. My compromise is I'm not full out boycotting them, and Gamestop to force them to change the endings... though if I have any derogatory statements towards the community I may still end up going that route.
I will download the ending DLC.. I will not complain about the ending unless it destroys the continuity even further. I'm HOPING, and it's a slim hope, that they'll be giving the indoctrination theory as an alternate path in the ending.. it's an extended cut as they call it.. well extended cuts can change the ending, we've seen it in movies.. so all hope is not lost at this point. I will NOT purchase another EA product UNTIL I have downloaded the DLC.. this means no more Sims 3 downloads.. I will not be renewing my SWTOR subscription until I've got the DLC in my hands. This is my way of saying "Bioware I don't trust your business management any longer". They can earn that trust back but they've lost it through various actions this past month.
I encourage you all to check in regularly. Let them know you disagree with their position, they still can change things you know.. they've announced a very vague ending at this point.. so they could still add a LOT of options and even gameplay to the ending.. it's free, costs them to distribute, costs us nothing to play it.
Above all, stay civil.. Freaking out, threatening people, that's the last thing to do at this point as it'll just show the world that we're not going to be happy regardless.. we WILL be happy, we'll remain civil customers, we will have our voices heard, and we'll keep pressing until we have 100% satisfaction. If this were GM, this dealership would have lost its Certification already with all the people not "Completely Satisfied" with their service. Don't let them pressure you into compromise if you don't want it.. but if you do, don't be afraid to at least admit it and be happy with what you've got.
Hold the line, I know I will be,
Computim out.
This should be reposted as frequently as possible...
You're welcome to, or anyone else for that matter, I consider pretty much all of my posts, save 3 or 4 to really be the community's .. I'm only here because of everyone else who's here with me. Y'all are awesome

Bioware: No.
Customers: Then we have no reason to give you money.
I fail to see how that's whining. That's being rational - I only spend money on the things that I want. Bioware apparently isn't going to make things that I want... so why should I pay them?

People can change their minds. Hell, it's not as if what we got contradicted what was originally said. If we're lucky the same might happen again.Darth Suetam wrote...
Well, this is it, isn't it? The end of the line? You guys think there's something else to be won here? I'm not a quitter, but that BW announcement sounded final.
The FAQ on its own sounds terrible though. Could they come across more out-of-touch if they tried? Still, if the Twitter posts are to be believed it may not be quite as bad as it sounds, even if it's a long way from perfect.

Changes in entities dont happen over night or over a period of weeks. It happens over time.
EA is known for being good at faustian bargains. Buying smaller more naive companies, offering huge resources with little flexibility. That is how they became so strong. Eating the smaller fish continously preventing anything from developing around their sphere of influence.
They are the final fantasy of the west. Chopping good ideas and packaging them endlessly for profit when the golden age of the idea is long gone.
They are also very good at punching the buttons of their customer base. Watching for reactions and then acting on them. Think day one DLC is an act of greed? no. Is a business practice testing the waters. Our generations of gamers, true gamers is already adults. New generations of well dare I say idiots who have no investment in their games other than to pass the time is quickly becoming, if not already being the majority. And thus artistic notion of "delivering worth while products" is becoming more and more rare. Why? most gamers are idiots, why spend the time appealing to the few who aren't.
Given the wide success of Day one DLC, its proof that their test worked, most of their consumer base for mass effect have no attachment to the series thus, they gain profit regardless of what they package.
Bioware is just the latest of their victims. Hence why I hate Casey. Wished Microsoft studios had done with Bioware what they did with Halo. And is something I am adamantly for.
Whoever is your first producer gives you resources at the expense of the title rights. after a decade that title is no longer yours.
Keep customers on their toes and so does their developers and producers.
But alas this is getting long so. Bioware is the latest in a long line of acquisitions for EA, they certainly wont be the last.
So is this the end?... for bioware it is. EA as it has done many times before, simply discard Bioware and move on to newer more naive studios and commence the cycle anew.

Know what would go a long way towards quieting down the PR disaster that the FAQ caused? Giving us actual information about what they plan to do. You can't leave your customers to speculate when they no longer trust you. If Bioware wants us to trust that this DLC will fix things, they need to give us some evidence.

Further discussion is pointless guys. They dont give a damn about us. They assume we will buy their games anyway. They are not afraid. They do not care. A perfect universe, a perfect game, totally ruined. So f sad![]()
My ship powers up the engines, preparing to leave the line. I aint gonna sit and hope its raining when someone spits on me.
The only good thing of all this pile of dino poo is that i donated to the kids. I just hope they will play games that are made by people who are more gamers than businessmen. Bioware lost its way.
Ironically, I'd say if they were more businessmen they wouldn't be so hung up over their artistic integrity. Ill settle for people who just know how to tell a story without invalidating the whole thing in the last ten minutes.

Are they planning anything for PAX?

I really thought they would give us the endings because it was win win. I guess I didn't factor in pride.
Well EA and Bioware will never see another dollar from me again. I was thinking of skipping a game or two in protest but I think I am done with them forever. I can not forgive them for this. I will borrow a game from a friend if it's worth playing, assuming they buy any...
Guess this is like a bad break up because I hope Bioware rots and EA tosses them into the dumpster.
