This announcement can't be more out of touch with their customers if they really tried to be so. It's crazy. And was one of the very first things we were clear about: "don't give us explanations or just more of the same endings. Give us new endings, or don't give us anything. We are not stupid. We understood the endings.".

Maybe they are just hoping that the press will swallow it and stop talking about them. Or will take the bait and start saying that we are never satisfied. This can very well be the point on this announcement.

Here's the short answer; BioWare was trying to be edgy. I mean, everybody expected a happy ending for Shepard. (Or at least for there to be a happy ending option) These wacked out ending they provided totally diverged from that, proving that they had the capacity for "artistic" vision. Unfortunately, this artsy crap they provided was a giant "screw you" to anyone who actually came to care for the characters of Mass Effect. Thanks for the effort BioWare, but if this is the new direction for your games, I want no part of it.

A month ago, if anyone had told me that I would be part of a "war" against  "artistic integrity" and the video game industry, I would have laughed out loud, and ignored them. There was nothing that I wanted more than my copy of Mass Effect 3.

Now...how could this happen? We all had faith that they would learn from DA2 and make the most amazing game and ending for their beloved franchise, Mass Effect...

Oh, very definitely. All I'm saying is that the final result might not be quite as atrocious as it sounds like it'll be for the game, not for BW's image. It doesn't excuse the ongoing PR disaster for one second. How completely out of touch they sound, and continue to sound, is incredible.

Correct. We've been civil and polite, and we were just asking for something that was advertised as being in the game. If they like their current stance of treating us like idiots who don't understand their ending and that need it explained, or that will believe that they were listening to what we were saying as they claimed, we have the right to say that we'll be taking our money elsewhere.

If anyone complains about this, I'm not sure who is the "whiny idiot". I'm an adult, and I act like that: no drama, just making a statement for a company that I respected and loved so that they know my reasons of why I'm moving away (yes, I'll send an e-mail too, before someone feels smart enough to say why I don't do just that, but forums are just for this too).
