Good post. But several other companies are adding/altering their endings without trouble.
Bathesda and Projekt RED are two of the most recent. This is only BioWare pulling this "artistic integrity" crap.

I honestly don't know how to feel. So many people are jumping to the most extreme conclusions, whilst I'm willing to give Bioware the befit of the doubt because we really have no clue what the extended cut will entail and they are giving it to us for free. However the "clarifying" statements and the fact the they will not be discussing it at PAX is making me extremely worried. I get it they are probably just playing it safe for now because everything they say is going to be looked at through a magnifying glass. But not saying anything is just going to throw more wood on the fire and make everyone more angry.

You know something that Pro enders just don't get?
I had a great ****ing time playing ME 3. And I desperately want it to continue.
I want to buy DLC, I want to Retake Omega, I want to figure out who the traitor is who leaks Cerberus information, I want to explore an ancient but intact Prothean ruin.
And I wanted to give Bioware money for these things so that they could keep making great games.
But they don't seem to realize that I'm not lobbying for a new ending, because I just want a better ending (though I do) I want a better ending because without it there is NO reason for me to buy DLC at all.
I'm not lobbying because I hate Mass Effect or Bioware (although...) I'm doing it because I love them both.

I wonder if EA owns the Mass Effect IP... they should hire evil souless people and make a new ending to ME3 for us. Wouldn't THAT be a slap in the face for Bioware.

Meh. Maybe I give up gaming and start becoming a famous dancer. Like Han Solo.
You're joking, but... I haven't gamed at all since I finished ME3. And that was a month ago. I just have no desire to play games. I think the hobby might be done for me.

*offers a hug*. We're not going anywhere. I'm not buying anything from EA until the DLC comes out and then I'm making a decision. Hoping losing out on nearly $500 from just me for the next few months of releases/DLC (Kingdoms of Amalur DLC, ME3 DLC, SWTOR subscription, Sims3 DLC) will help contribute to this..
Holding the line.*Salutes*

I might be crazy but... I'm playing ME3 right now. SP, from the start. It's ... okay. Not nearly as "yay" as before I became aware of the ending but - it's okay.

Why give them the benefit of the doubt? They've destroyed all credibility and trust that they once had.
IT et. al. is clarification of the ending. The ending doesn't make sense (plot holes and all) and IT is a way to explain it.Ramshakkle wrote...

I'm cautiously optimistic. I would rather Bioware give us something, some footage from what they're working on. It would be doubly awesome if it was just a few more seconds of the scene where Shepard takes a breath. I don't think any of the fan theories are discounted because nothing they said hints at all as to what they're actually doing. Not knowing hurts the most.
They said they are not changing or adding endings, only adding 'clarification' to what we got. As much as I'd like to see it be true, I think the IT and most others have gone up in smoke. Still going to wait and see how they do this since it's free anyway, but it looks like Bungie's going to be the only dev I actually trust pretty soon.

Good idea. I got all excited because they released it to Xbox 360 but only one male character and that made me sad
I think even Fable3 sounds like a better game than ME3 right now...at least my choices were taken into consideration.

Yeah... I don't see that happening. I can't even bring myself to play other games in other genres. Not even a sidescroller.

I have the Witcher 2, then Darksiders 2, and if can get my hands on 3DS Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance the bridge beween 2 and 3. Man - I'm not looking back .. AC 3 in October.
You know maybe instead of being depressed about this you said take this time to branch out. Bioware is not the only gaming Company out there that make a good story and something that is entertaining. This is a lesson that Bioware is going to learn the hard way... oh how humpty dumpty is going to fall.

Thanks Computim. I just want to say that I more than resent that fact that BW slaps us with the label of "our most passionate fans" as if it were a bad thing. Actually having the quads to sneakily use the public misconceptions about the gaming community (people with no lives, sitting in a basement all day playing video games and eating candy bars) against us ("passionate" meaning a small percentage of obsessed fans). No...that is not me, or any of you. Now if we don't accept this copout of a resolution poor BW will look like it is being abused and its precious "artistic integrity" is being compromised.
No, your "most passionate fans" are the ones who made your small fortunes, and apparently are the only ones who are trying to salvage any integrity this franchise has left, while you pompously gallavant around as if you maintain some kind of otherworldly intelligence so far beyond the conception of THE MAJORITY of people who play the game. No one - not even DR. RAY (sorry, but PhDs are a dime a dozen these days) is more educated than most of the people on these boards, or any more worthy of mutual respect.
I have to go now. Or I will just continue to rage.
Holding the line.

I never finished Fable 2. The whole "everytime you die, you get a new scar" annoyed me. And then they got rid of that in Fable 3. And in Fable 3, even with all the annoying bugs, we still can get many endings. Better than the ending of ME3.
Wow. Never thought I would say that.
