So we can't get the ending we want after all?

I can't tell if I'm upset by this or hopeful for something that I can call canon and have the entire RetakeME3 community backing me on despite everyone knowing it's not official.

The way I see it now, Someone is going to release a mod with far better endings than Bioware had. Those endings will end up becoming the 'standard' mod set that everyone who gets the game downloads.. much like the unofficial bug fix mod for Oblivion & Morrowind that ended up fixing the stuff Bethesda didn't get around to. Except in this case the sad thing will be that the narrative artistic integrity that Bioware fought so hard to protect will be crushed (with good reason) and forgotten in place of an ending legitimized by the community and brought about by the arrogance of the original releasing studio.

My problem with someone realsing a mod, is that I can't get it... I'm on a 360 so it won't do me any good, plus I've got no idea how to go about setting up mods in the first place... Yeah its sad I know, but I've got no clue what I'm doing when it comes to most PC games, the most I know how to do is how to use console commands...

There's a lot more history than you're touching on there regarding EA and the endings. EA's fiscal year end was march 31st, which is why the game was pushed out and not delayed again. So right off the bat EA's just as much at fault as Bioware.
EA is just as much at fault for continuing a pattern of behaviour regarding releases despite their customers regularly disapproving. If they didn't create a culture where executives are incentivized to push out games as often as possible and meet deadlines, not based on valid milestones of production, but on investor relations, the subsidiaries wouldn't continue to run into these problems. Yes Bioware is at fault for pushing the game out before it was ready, but EA is at fault having the management structure that rewards quantity over quality.
hmm... you make a vaild point...

But Bioware have lost all credibility - they need to regain it if they want to sell this to us.

Well just wait for it to go in the bargain bin for $5 for PC and you can get it on there (much like I did with Oblivion).
The way we're going that should be in a month or so *rimshots*

Meanwhile, all the wait and see crowd will be energized and ready for whatever bioware pulls, willing and able to swarm them at a moments notice should the DLC be less than passable. And you hardline rebels will be too tired and too emotionally drained to either care or make a difference in the fight.

I would like that, but ME is almost impossible to mod. Aside from a few texture replacements we can't do anything big. Maybe someone can rip the models from the game and make new endings as videos. I cant think of anything else...

Naww, you're still a hopeful.
I remember far too many of BioWare's stuffups to have the hope you do.
1- "Massive Community Event" which ended out being for some of the US only (which they didnt tell us about, we had to read the fine print once the big timer had stopped and released the details to us).
2- TOR release, which went from world wide, to seperate release dates. Then sent us all the emails to preorder, and we got the "not available in your region" messages.
3- Dragon Age 2, with the reuse of the same tiles over and over. Same caves, buildings. Everything.
4- TOR as a whole, it didn't meet the hype they made for it. Which is evident in the now dwindling numbers (I used to play it).
5- Now, Mass Effect 3. Not only have they broken promises to the playerbase, they've also managed to insult us at every turn (about how large we are, to our intelligence). Put that on top of the massive failure that is the ending...and yeah.
"Arrogance"? No. Not arrogance. Just experienced enough of BioWare recently to know that this will be the same as everything else. It is not arrogant when failing has become part of the companies personality.

Then let them try to regain their credibility - and in the meantime, regain your dignity. Wait for them to come up with their response as to why they want to keep their ending with the explanation they have, then come up with your rebuttals. Besides, providing it for free is the closest thing to an apology the fanbase is ever going to get, and in the gaming industry, this is the first time this happens. It is historic.

There are only so many chances that I'm willing to give you. And I'm still willing to let Bioware redeem themselves. But at this point, they actually need to do it to keep me on board. Vague promises that they might do so in the future are not enough anymore. It's time for them to put up or shut up, as it were.
If they have something that will redeem them, we need to see it. Now.
