Ok.  Let's tell them to use their super powers to stop time so that they can do their work outside of time while we don't notice a thing.  Then, when they're done writing their response to our complaints, they can resume time and present it to us immediately.

I think, good sir, you are missing the point.
We are not asking for them to do the work all at once. We are asking for the complete story on how they plan to fix this. They know the basis of our complaints, they are summed up really well in 2 vids on youtube which I have linked to them several times (and they have responded to tell me they watched them).

It does not take anything more than a day of thought to come up with a definitive answer.

As is, I think this is a case of you not being on the recieving end of BioWare's fails enough to understand why it is we are planting our foot and saying "enough is enough".

I don't think you understand the implications of what it is you're asking.  They weren't expecting to do this, so much so that they've put off their other DLC to get straight to this one in response to the fans.  Since they can only come up with a good response once the team has written one that will satisfy and respond to as much of the fan feedback as possible, they can't make anything official.  Think of the prerelease promises that fueled the present fires.  They're playing smart, and the if you want to play the same game as them and win, so should you.

That's me! *hangs head* Yeah, when I finished the game I went online to see what went wrong. Found out you needed to play MP to get 20 second scence. Got mad. Then saw that the endings were all very, um... similar. Then I really thought about what I had just witnessed and got a migraine and my I.Q. dropped 10 points.

I've played ME  from  the first one, and I feel like PS3 players got more out of it than we did.
Now that I know they will keep this ending...I swear they need to fix this EMS problem.  This is all so...wrong.

Yeah, they at least didn't get to see the Reapers go from cold-blodded genocidal machines to ridiculous walking paradoxes

Or, how about this: we ask them to be completely honest with us. Tell us what happened. Tell us what they're going to do. Tell us that they're working on it. And, yes, tell us that they don't have anything yet, but more will be coming when they do.

Don't release the kind of statement that they did today. It's insulting.

But now, seriously. If they are not talking about the ending and its cutscene at PAX, is it ok to ask about the Xbox 360 ems issue? We can't play mp without gold and they said "you can get the whole experience from the game itself. Mp will not affect your game at all" on launch day.

I'm also going to probably do some X-universe play, speaking of which the X3 series is on sale on Steam this weekend.

It's sad how cynical Bioware's turned me into this month.  A month ago they could have sold me horse armor with the N7 logo and I would have called it brilliant and a funny jab at Bethesda for the community... now I'd see it for what it is, a poor judgement at the expense of their customer.

I pre-ordered Witcher since I am not going to buy any dlc from EA/BW.Missed out on the dark edition.Really a simple outline of what the Extended Cut will do would help some at this point. It's not like they'd leak the ending to the game and ruin it for people.

Then let them try to regain their credibility - and in the meantime, regain your dignity.  Wait for them to come up with their response as to why they want to keep their ending with the explanation they have, then come up with your rebuttals.  Besides, providing it for free is the closest thing to an apology the fanbase is ever going to get, and in the gaming industry, this is the first time this happens.  It is historic.

No its not.

CD Projeck got a lot of complaints about serious bugs with The Witcher. Their answer - to go back and practically re-write and update the entire game AND add additional content. This enhanced edition was...free to download for everyone who had a registered version of the original game.

They've just done the exact same thing with The Witcher 2 - updated the original, added content (including I believe a couple of new endings) and made it free for those who bought and registered the first version of The Witcher 2.

Don't forget Bethesda and Fallout 3 when their Exec Producer apologized admitting they made a mistake with the ending and then announced Broken Steel which would replace the original ending and added an entire new campaign.

This isn't historic and I have no idea why no one remembers so many other companies did this before and did it with less of a fight.

First, we specifically said that they should not just expand on the current ending. Which they have.

That specific point proves they are not listening. They do not care.
Also, please refrain from the "playing it smart" remarks. They are generally seen as vieled insults on ones intelligence.

BioWare is not playing it smart. They are playing it EA. There is a substantial difference. The difference being "Smart" is on one end of the IQ scale, and "EA" is on the other.

Well I rarely comment on forums (probably can count the number of comments on one hand) but the ending just left such a bad taste I have to let a little bit out.

I finished ME3 about 3 weeks a go and didn't even feel like playing a video game at all.
I finally felt good enough that I wanted to try playing something last weekend and actually found MGS4 in my bookshelf.
The game showed me why I liked to play video games again. The MGS story can get confusing at times, but somehow 4 was able to pull together everything over the years into one cohesive story. It was so satisfying that I want to go back and play all the games again.

The ME3 ending just felt the opposite, the first two games were building up to the ending in the third but the last 10 minutes caused me to draw a blank. It had so much going for it and got me so emotional at times (Tuchanka, Rannoch) that it really hit me hard.

I guess I was lucky enough to have a game that made me remember why I love to play video games. The ME series was right up there until the ending hit.

Sir, again, we don't need explanations. Good as they may be, they can keep them for themselves. We want new endings. I'm not a dog who wants attention, and need "closure" and "to feel good again". And I'm not stupid that I need the endings explained. I understood the endings. They are just not good.

It's a strawman fallacy to say that they have ended our problems by explaining it. We never wanted explanations in the first place. We want new and good endings. Endings worthy of the journey we did with the characters.

Don't buy this story. They said they won't change a thing, and won't give us new endings. They said they will "explain" and "add more feeling of closure" to the fans. That is NOT what we want!!!

Same here. I right out had a preorder on that N7 headset, then the ending came. That got canceled real quick and replaced with the nonlicensed version. Still got a couple shirts right before the game came out, but I  figure, they might have destoyed the series, but damn near nothing will break my (high) opinions of Tali and Garrus.

It's been a rough day with the Bioware response, so I was catching up with the Marauder Shields comics to cheer me up. I just realized that my gamertag got a shout out in #13. So rad! Koobismo rocked more than I thought he did! Lol!

Oh I am def getting The Witcher 2. And never buying another bioware product as long as I live. Their announcement today, yet again giving themselves a pat on the back for their "art", was the last straw. Don't mind taking up their cash to maintain this server, however.

So what is art, anyway? Are you allowed to crap on something and turn around and say "Dude, my art!" ???

I know the feeling very well. Once I got a 360 and JRPGs became unplayable, I had to go to western RPGs. ME was actually the first game I bought. The dialog wheel blew me away, although, to be honest, the combat did bring it down a couple of notches in my book. Then came ME2 and then the clincher, DA:O. Once I finished that one BW sat atop my developer list. Then DA2 came, and I was OK with it, thinking it was just a rush-job and they could redeem themselves with 3. And then, well, we know what happened. Suffice to say, since the ending, I have become a bit more jaded toward the industry as a whole

It's speculative to assume that an explanation that they are going to provide that's formulated based off of fan feedback won't satisfy your yearnings.  Let their response come, then respond in an educated manner instead of speculating; the very thing we didn't want to have to do as a result of the ending.

I picked up #2 enhanced off Amazon earlier for the 360 :) - Was going to get Command & Conquer Generals 2 if PAX peace conference turned out different... instead we got a surprise attack on the eve of it... so now I'm getting Witcher 2 Enhanced edition instead.

I dont think you read their release. They DID say what they are going to do. And it is the opposite to what we wanted.

They are extending on the current endings. Which means the flaws that were there, will still be there.
Starchild.
Destroying the relays.
Shepards death.
Why the Reaper didnt kill him with that blast.
Why our "friends" abandoned us and escaped.
Why Shepard broke character and gave in so easily.
So many others.

Extending the ending might fix some of those issues. But it is not possible to fix them all.
I mean, Starchild and Shepard breaking character are 2 of the massive flaws in the ending...but to keep the ending as is, they can't change those 2 aspects.

I may only be minoring in marketing and management, but I can smell a marketing ploy easily enough.

Maybe they'll honestly answer our questions when the time comes.  That time is not now, and won't be until they have a better idea of what they're doing.  Until then, if we don't treat ourselves with dignity and respect and act polite, we can't expect others to treat us well.

No. Your assertion that things will be fine is also speculation. All we have is speculation, because Bioware refuses to tell us anything. And we've been burned by them, badly, in the recent past. So while we can't say for certain that things will go well or that they won't... it's prudent to think we may get burned again, until we're given evidence to the contrary.

Bioware needs to speak up if they don't want us to think we're going to get screwed. Again.
