I'm even ok with Shepard blowing up, not thrilled but it happens. I'm not that ok with having to kill all synthetics, I kinda wonder why I spent all game talking to EDI changing her into as close to a real person as she could get and then kill her later...Seems just plain backwards...
But they have their work cut out for them.
they deviated from the logical storyline completely. Somehow blowing up the mass relays now doesn't destroy the whole star system, when before they did. How does the AI star baby combine organics and synthetics by blowing up the citadel with a green explosion? If all the tech is destroyed in the galaxy, wouldn't your huge fleet that you amassed be destroyed, killing the majority of the population of the galaxy anyways? And how did your teammates magically appear on the Normandy, and why did your entire crew abandon you, and the fight for Earth and flee?
I don't think they have the answers themselves, so to keep my business, they better get some good ideas.
I seriously would love to know who came up with the ending and listen to them try to explain it. I bet there would be a lot of "Uhhhs" and "Ummms" while he tried to come up with the answers.

Give Bioware a chance to present the Epilogue at least. Here's a prototype as to what you might expect. Just pretend there are cinematics (Bioware said additional cinematics would be coming).
Although its Fan Made, its VERY well done and detailed. It keeps the Star Child canon, but it does provide a LOT of closure.

I haven't "bought into" anything since there isn't anything to buy into except for a promise for an explanation of the current ending. If we have more information and find out that the explanation is objectively flawed (as the current one is) then we can present ACTUAL arguments against it instead of speculative ones that the press won't buy and will turn against us for.
A promise for a potential strawman or "faux olive branch" has been presented. Since we don't have enough information to counter it we have to play smart, just like Bioware/EA is.
Soooo, you won't just drop it, right? Not until everyone agrees with you?
You still don't get it? The explanation can't be good or bad, when no explanation is needed!!! The problem is what they think needs an explanation. So, if it doesn't need an explanation, no explanation can be good (or bad)!
So, if you give me an explanation that wasn't needed, you are arguing against something that wasn't on the table in the first place. So, yes. It is a strawman!!!
I don't need to wait to hear an explanation. I don't need an explanation. So, it can be a good or a bad one. It doesn't matter.
Dangerously close to a tautology by explaining again, I'll say that the new content can be beautiful; great; emotionally nice; bring a better taste to the mouth; anything. It still won't matter, since it was not what I wanted. It's accepting less than what we wanted.
I won't drop it because I won't let you destroy what we're fighting for, even if I have to look like an idiot. Also, I'm learning that looking like an idiot on the internet isn't as bad as it sounds either, so it sucks to be you guys!
I don't want people to lose everything they fought for. Is that such a bad thing? Be civil, be polite, and let's be smart about this. I have brought evidence to my case that we're losing the press war, regardless of your opinions of me or what you want. So what are you going to do about it? Keep going the way you're going, or change?
It's your choice. I've made mine, and I hope you do the right thing. If I have to look like an idiot to make sure the Retake movement is at least aware of what they're doing and how they look in the public eye, then so be it.

Yeah it kinda lets you accept the ending at face value for once. You should see the ending where you romanced Tali but you died due to the Synthesis or Control Ending. They were crying "Man Tears" in the thread. Very well written.

Otherwise, we know what Bioware was trying to do. At first we thought about the Indoc Theory, but all sources currently point towards that being false (unless Bioware is purposely misleading everyone, which is definitely not the most ethical maneuver). Barring that Theory, it's obvious they were trying to show Shep's sacrifice and how despite all the tragedy, life will somehow manage to find a way now that it finally has some hope.
It still doesn't change the fact that we're railroaded into three flavors of death and that our choices mean jack in the end. There should be endings for everyone-- happy to sad-- depending on what they've done. The Shepard I played would have found another way. I wasn't even given that choice.

You are not fighting for anything close what we fought for for weeks here, Sir. This is another example of a strawman, and you still have no idea about it.
We never wanted what you are preaching about. We never wanted "explanation", and we never wanted "clarification". Not "justification". So, don't tell me you fought for what we fought.
And you didn't bring any evidence. You brought only fear and accepting less than what we fought for all this time.
Since you are incapable of answering to any argument, and just repeat yourself over and over, I hope you at least don't do this on every page just for the sake of it.

Nice. I got the Liara/Destroy ending so mine was almost all sunshine and rainbows lol. I figured Joker would die anyways since he requires constant medical attention. My only arguement is why is Edi and the geth destroyed? Isn't that debunked because Shepard survived?
Its much better than what BW produced but thats a plot hole thats always puzzled me. What made Shepard special?

Sell it if you like, it is entirely up to you. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my CE ME3...might see if the place I bought it from will take it back, though I kind of doubt it since it has been a month since release...I may be stuck with it. My dad was actually saying he will get me something else for my birthday because "A birthday present shouldn't make you depressed".
As for getting the witcher 2, again that is entirely up to you....my dad has it pre-ordered and I watched a part one of a walkthrough for it and it looks pretty good.
I wish I could help with motivating you but I am still to depressed and annoyed to be of any use.

And don't think I'm not considering your opinions. I for one am hesitant about the DLC, but still glad about the announcementm much like the author of the article. I read the report on Forbes saying that the fan reaction is negative and that we are losing war assets. I came here to try and convince some people and warn others. And you spit at me in the process. Sweet. Whatever. I have thick skin. Although my tear ducts are getting a little worked up.
Oh yeah, and the Retake movement is slightly more diverse than I think you think it is. Just some food for thought.

I think the Destroy Ending kills all Synthetic Life with AI. At least thats what I got out of the ending. Seeing as how EDI, the Geth, and the Reapers are the only KNOWN TRUE AI in the Galaxy; they were the only ones to die in the Destroy Ending.
Shepard is basically just a person with Advanced Prosthetics.

I may just give it a whirl to pass some time while EA/BW digs themselves in deeper and deeper.........
There's plenty of games like this to replace EA/BW so I'm not too worried if I never buy a product from them again.

The inimitable aghunter commented on the latest word from EA / BW on the ending (scroll down the page):
"
First, even if you fix something, you’ll probably never admit it was broken. The extent to which EA will rework the ending is anyone’s guess, but even if they plan to craft new endings, they wouldn’t admit it. EA just doesn’t want to go on record admitting they are overhauling an inferior product (And to be fair most companies would be the same). Apparently Ms. Merizan tweeted a while ago that the enhanced endings will contain at least one possibility of being reunited with squad mates (something that seems to fly in the face of disjoined clips of you in a pile of rubble and your squad mates taking a header off world). But they’ll just claim that was their plan all along and not “new”.
Conversely, could the “expanded endings” be a placebo which allows EA to claim they listened and deliver no substantial content? Absolutely. Bottom line, however this turns out, the message we got today was probably as good as EA was probably ever willing to give regardless of what they ultimately deliver. "

Maybe they think they dodged a bullet but that would be missing a fundamental point of this whole debate. Truth is, the Retake movement is just as much for Bioware's sake as our own. The last thing Bioware wants is massive quiet customer loss. Retake was about giving Bioware a do over, so to speak. You don't see fans protesting crappy endings on games that are terrible from the start like say bad movie tie in games. The reason players collectively lost their minds over this was because we overall cared so much about the series and didn't want to give up on Bioware. To see the movement as an adversary to be fought is a mistake. They may have indeed "won" the fight with this clever dlc fake olive branch, but in the end they're going to leave alot of customers with a sour taste in their mouths.
