I woke up and just layed in bed for 4 hours wondering what is the point of getting up? Bioware's announcement has just crushed my spirit and ruined my life. I know it sounds extreme, but ME was the only game that i actually felt a proper connection with and Bioware forced me to screw it over. I hoped that they would give me a chance to have a better ending, but they just said "no, we will extend your pain with an extended cut".

Don't worry, Chmarr and I have it figured out - it's Apple's fault.

*hugs and cookies* I feel pretty much the same way....it seems pathetic but hey what can we do, but try and cope.

If you need to talk you can PM me I am always willing to listen.

Honestly, I don't think anyone here seriously believes that someone "must" change their art. However, when selling that art to a consumer, the consumer has every right to not like it and not buy their product, especially when promises are made that are broken. If an artist told me they were going to paint a family portrait, which I then paid for, and received a family portrait with the heads all missing because it's more artistic, then I have every right to demand a refund if I don't like it. I have every right to ask them to change it. I can't make them change it, but I can get my money back and not buy anything from that artist again.

In the end, this isn't about artistic integrity. It's about money. It always is. And frankly, as soon as you start giving players control of the game's story, it's no longer just the creators. If that's the case, Bioware should have never given us choices and instead just kept one story path for everyone.

Of course we can petition them, doesn't mean they have to listen.

My exact thoughts when I read his primadonna post.

Yeah, talk about pedestal... Can not? I'd be fine with 'whine but I don't give a sh*t', but 'can not' and 'have no right'?
Someone get this man a ladder, he's obviously managed to climb on to a too high horse and 'can not' get down.

Thanks for the hugs guys, really needed them. Hopefully Bioware will announce that they have changed their minds at PAX, but i don't hold out much hope any more.

That's what baffles me most - why in gods name would I want to extend the pain of that ending? Let alone play an entire game through to revisit that horrid ending and have it "explained" in cinematic detail? (I thought there was too much cinematic detail in the whole game but I'm going to guess I'm in a minority on that point).

this is probably their frame of mind...

Also, I would argue that makers of mass effect 3, or any video game, doesn't get to call itself art right out. Does anyone get to create anything and call it art? Is any movie/book/etc produced automatically art? I know this isn't a topic of heavy interest to thisforum (bc I've brought it up several times w no takers) but it *really* bothers me that people get to proclaim their own stuff "art."

You guys are unbelievable, you get exactly what you want and you are still complaining, did you guys really think that they would completley change the ending?

I would like to point out that this all began because we asked for answers that to this day we have not been given and we have also (stupidly it seems) expected the developers to stick to the statements made before release. We are requesting additional endings that reflect our choices in keeping with the rest of the series, I don't think anyone is realistically expecting them to cut out the entire ending as it stands. We aren't "demanding" like spoilt children, we have been attempting to engage in constructive dialogue. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with Bioware and understand why this ending was chosen. If I could understand their reasoning perhaps I could appreciate what they attempted to pull off better but I still have no answers and need to keep waiting.

Unless it's a time constraint issue I just don't see how any of this is EAs fault.

I guess there's a lot I don't see, but...

I wouldn't go as far as that, since Bioware is a part of EA now. I think most of the 'artistic attitude' has been dropped along the way, for better and for worse. That might actually make the situation even more painful for the team, since obviously they have tried to preserve as much of their AI as possible, and it has only resulted in fan outcry and probably quite pissed off EA executives.

No I didn't expect them to completely change the ending, that was a completely unrealistic expectation. Also, we haven't gotten "what we want" because we haven't been given enough details to understand what the extended cut will contain. All I have asked for is answers for the massive plotholes and an ending where the choices I have made throughout the three games have an impact.

I would argue that most people didn't get exactly what they want... But that probably wouldn't solve your disbelief in us.

No, this is us being pessimistic. We are not complaining, yet, time will show whether we will complain at all, since we have nothing but vague ambiguities concerning what the DLC wil entail.

We most definitely did NOT get what we want. We never once asked for them to clarify, or explain the endings, nor for that matter did we ask them to change the ending. We asked for Alternate Endings that gave us choice back that the current ending did not give us. We want, closure, a range of endings and something that actually makes sense, NOT an extension on the already nonsensical ending.

Actually thinking about it I haven't complained once about this development, merely said that I want to see what comes out of PAX and that I was getting a headache reading the vague twitter posts..... hmm complaints are in the eye of the beholder I guess.

I am quite happy to admit I am complaining. I am just so sick of all this crap, all I really have left for this issue is complaints and depression.

we have not gotten what we want, there just giving us cinimatics.

we asked for the missing endings to be put back in, we were told BY THE CO-FOUNDERS in interviews that there would be 16 diffrent endings, instead we got 1 ending in 3 diffrent colours

the diffrent between cinimatics and actual dlc is that cinimatics does not have any gameplay nor any choices, this is why its free

DLC
is gameplay where we can make our own choices we can tell the starbrat to pissoff, there are so many valid arguments that support us and they far outweigh the bull**** "artist integrity".

they put this stuff out to say "yes we caved in" when in fact they havent, there passing out cinimatic content which was cut from the game hence "the extended cut" of the game

extended means cut content readded, they need to readd in all the missing missions and we all know shepard lives as we found out by the files in the pc version.
dont beleve me then look at the screenshots in this thread, there named the following

End03_Shepard_Alive_Fem.bik
End03_Shepard_Alive_Male.bik

thats the 5 seconds scene and it is in london so yeah shepard is alive and bioware knows that we know and there ignoring us and fobbing us off with this garbage cinimatic DLC crap

I haven't posted on here since the news came out, was too disheartened to do so. Went out and ranted about it somewhere else. To put it short, I couldn't be more angry with the lazy DLC that they're going to try to get by with.

Listening to our feedback, my ass. I'm so done with Bioware. They won't be getting another dollar from me. I refuse to believe they so heavily missed the mark unintentionally. They simply never cared in the first place. That much is obvious.

Still... Very upset.

And it's a cultural thing as well. 'Nothing will come of it, it will fail anyhow, every change will be for the worst' is something of a national sport here. Doesn't mean we actually mean that, it's just the default setting of Finnish communication, you know, "complaining" for the fun of it :P
