I was going to send a long mail to BioWare right now (after cooling my head from yesterday's announcement), giving them a bit of background about myself and why I never whine about relatively minor things (heck, I didn't say a word about DA2 back in the day), and politely explaining why I think that their decision is wrong and that they didn't understand what we where telling them about the ending. But, when I was about to send it, I remembered how did they listen to past posts and mails (including their own "we're listening" thread!) and I deleted it.
To be honest, I don't care anymore, and I don't see it changing anything at this point. They have already made their minds, and the only way to reach them right now is through our wallets. Maybe it will work or maybe not, but that's how I feel right now and I'm not going to lose more time hitting a wall.
My respect and apologies to those guys and gals at BioWare that worked on that 99% of the game that is awesome, but I don't agree with the way that their company hypes customers with false promises, and it's lack of respect and humility towards it's community when they found their lies and politely asked for a change (instead of mass returning the game, as some did, and as we would do with any other product). I'm sorry but no, "artitstic integrity" doesn't work as an excuse, more so when their own "artistic view" on those last 10 minutes of the game violate the whole "artistic integrity" of the whole 3 games.
I'll try that free DLC in the summer to see if they can do some sort of miracle and make the current ending less... distasteful (which I doubt) but, until then, I won't buy any DLC, games, or subscriptions to any MMO with the EA or BioWare logos.
As for the Retake guys and gals, it has been great. You made the wait a lot better, and we did some great and really good things in those four weeks. I'm proud of you all, and I'll stay here even if it's just reading.
