I already lost all hope for BW....well at least D3 come on may an i can forget about this game and this company of "artistic people". No more money from me BW, at least Blizzard know how to make great games, and dont ****** off the fan base, you....pff you already fallen on EA claws. Now i can toss my game in the dark corner and forget about this fiasco.

Hold the line ; hold the wallet for all EA &BW titles ,,, until I see the Ending DLC , that really fit as real good ending for the story

Apparently not. They remind me of a 5yr old sticking his fingers in his ears and screaming "I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALALA".

Multi player is easier and cheaper to create. Since theres no storyline, less work has to go into it, and therefore, there is less overhead in making it.  Lower cost = higher profits..  Its pretty cut and dry actually.. Sadly theres enough baby dweebs out there who only want to be the ultimate GI Joe who wouldnt know the business end of a weapon from their ****s that thrive on this kind of dreck that will continue to purchase it for the next cple years to keep Bioware afloat.  RP'ers like us, demand a story ( even a flimsy one ) before we're satisfied. Bioware would seem to LOVE the idea of dumping us in order to save money to buffer its pockets while making DLC for the MPers..

My take on artistic integrity:

BioWare claimed 16 different endings for this product, money was exchanged with that expectation.

If I were to paint something, perhaps a nice pastoral, a house in the background, and put it in a gallery to sell, I would expect to maintain artistic integrity. If a prospective buyer walked in and said, "That doesn't look like my house, I want you to change it so it does," I could tell them to take a long walk off a short pier with a free conscience. They had no expectations until they saw the final product, and no promises had been made, as it was not called "Prospective Buyer's House #1."
If, however, I had painted that as a commission, and the customer had been told, "Yes, it will look like your house, with your family standing outside. Everything will be good, trust me," then I had better deliver. If I paint a Greek Revival mansion instead of a midwestern bungalow, the wife is blonde instead of brunette, the children have tentacles coming out of their ears, and the family Chihuahua has suddenly become a Great Dane, then "artistic integrity" is no defense. I promised something that was not delivered. By taking pre-orders months in advance, on the strength of promises regarding the final product, BioWare offered something that was not delivered.

Got it... So, it's only art if you approve of it.

[/quote]
Ah I love these folks who still insist Bioware is some starving beret laden artist painting a self expressionist piece in their studio and not a company with a few hundred people working on a mass marketed product to make a profit. Video games are a product first and art second. Easy to prove really. If ME1 had tanked, do you think there would have been an ME2 and 3? Yeah probably not. These products NEED to be sold or they don't exist. In your Apple example, you really think Apple would have stuck to their guns if they started losing serious money to the point where it was no longer profitable to offer a product? Again probably not.

Even assuming this IS art, some people seem to live in a strange naive world where art never changed indeed CANNOT change, and that's just false. Alot of the best know works of art were tweaked and adjusted by their creators. To say that art cannot be changed is to assume that art has to be static. That once an artist creates something to express himself he cannot change his mind or decide to look at something in a new light. This is a false purist assumption which is especially false in storytelling art as books, plays, movies and I guess now video games. Its very common for say movies to re edit after screenings to get peoples reaction. Video games have the beta testing process, books get rewrites, etc. Its simply a silly notion that art happens in a vacuum, ESPECIALLY when you get away from self expressionist art and into entertainment products.

In the end though, I may agree more than I seem to be. Truth is Bioware DOES own the rights to its story and product. If they wanted to end the game by having a clown jump out and flip everyone the bird followed by a message detailing how much Bioware hates its fans that would be well within their rights (unless you want to look at it from a false advertising perspective, which I'm not getting into). Detractors don't understand what the Retake movement is. Trust me, we know its ultimately Bioware product. Our demands are nothing more than strong fan feedback. Its an ultimatum to change.their product it lose our business. Nothing more complicated than that. Our demands don't come with legal teeth nor are we literally threatening to do anything to them beyond what is our right to do (take business elsewhere). And sorry for the late post. Just got here.
