Today marks the Fall of Retake and the Rise of Pro-Enders.

What a glorious morning.

Checkmate.

You are as pathetic as always.

I see this and all I can think of is walking around on Omega and hearing the Batarian prophet shout at you.

5.asset.soup.io/asset/2506/3157_728b.jpeg

Cmon guys... You cant fall now !

Did Shepard give up and fall down on his/her knees when facing off against Saren? No.
Did Shepard give up before going through the Omega 4 Relay? No.
Did shepard give up when confronted with 3 colour options? Yes...

But That's not our way! We are the gamers... We are the fans... We are costumers... And we are angry... Angry that we didnt get the product that was advertised, angry that we were promised that Multiplayer would have no effect on your SP-campaign... And finally, we are angry because there were 1 ending to a brilliant series... And that ending made everything we fought for completely irrelevant...

So, Bioware... That's not good enough!

Oh no no, I said that I wasn't getting into the false advertising just for the purpose of my debate, not that it didn't have merit. I don't really feel equipped to debate the false advertising, though Talon_Wu made a great post right before me about it.

My apologies.. If I were to say its a quiet peaceful day around the Sherpa household, i'd be lieing through my teeth..  I dont mean for it to spill over to the forum and most certainly not to you..
I'm sorry..

Hi all,

With all the mess going on by the game critics, I'd like some help in sorting out the good game review sites for the future.  Forbes is good and all, but I doubt they will be the ones that will review all video games in the future.

So:

1) What are some sites that posts good game reviews?  Would you consider the California Literary Review one of them?

2) Aside from IGN, What sites should be avoid?

-----------

Just 'cause I don't think this has been said enough: Thank You.

Thank you for starting this movement and thank you for keeping this movement going.  Thank you to DJBare, Phoenix NL, Nharia1, Atrocity, TamiBx, Cybermortis, and every contibuter to this thread for keeping this place going, keeping this place fun, real, safe, and informed despite all the rough treatments.  So, thank you.

Please continue to hold the line.

I may only be speaking for myself, but know that I am and will be one of the many lurkers who hide in the shadows of the line, staying on for the unique endings we were promised.

Unless this mess is sorted out in the manner that's been asking for, I will not be using real money to buy anything from Bioware or EA ever again.  In fact, Mass Effect was the only series I went out on a limb on to actually purchase.  I was one of the rare few who enjoyed all of ME2 and it was ME2 that made me believe that they had changed for the better.

I know now that I was wrong and though my efforts may be in vain, I will continue to hold on to hope for the endings we were promised for ME3, for without hope we may as well be machines, forced to like the crap we've been served and be okay with being told to "deal with it."

It may not seem like it to all of you but, to me, I feel like we're fighting for the future of storytelling.  To paraphrase Paragon Speech Maker Shepard...

We don't know how many storylines have been ruined by crap endings -- Thousands, hundreds of thousands. it doesn't matter.  What matters is this:

Not.
One.
More.

That's what we can do, here today.  It ends with us.  They want to know what were made of? I say we show them, on our terms.  Let's bring our versions Shepard home.

Make Shepard proud, make yourselves proud.

---------

... and for a mood killer:

Now I'm gonna go back to hiding because all the non-reapers and indocturnated people are on an endless loop of sobbing/singing "And I need you to recover, 'cause I can't make it on my own" at Shepard.

A little late but... think we can get people to do that at PAX?

Sorry folks, had a personal crises that needed to be taken care of, but I'm back withholding my wallet, the forbes article has been added to the list, a very interesting and to the point read.
It is us that hold the power over these industries, it's just that we do not recognise that power, or maybe we just want to ignore it because we don't want to miss out on the latest game/DLC.
I don't really have a problem with them calling their stuff art, but I'm also fully aware that if they wish to continue their art they require the resources, those resources come from our wallets, and that's where we need to exercise control, it's difficult I know when you are a passionate gamer, but I believe the tipping point has been reached, we've already pretty much griped about the direction the gaming industry is taking but we've also tolerated it, are we going to continue being tolerant and purchase the next ammo reload or reach the end of the game only to get the message "to see the final climax download our DLC"?, that's really up to you as individuals, but I'm not, it's become a farce, I keep hearing the words in my head "Don't worry, the suckers will buy it"; and PT Barnum probably knew this better than anyone.

To my regret, after an awful ending, after disgusting behavior of EA and BW, I decided to buy production of both companies never more. It was a difficult decision as here 15 years from my 31 years of life, I buy their production. But after they scoffed at us, I made this decision. More I won't buy any game let out by both companies. And I will use the best efforts, what in the territory of Russia, everyone learned, that both companies wanted to spit on our feelings. To take away our money and to provide in replacements a poor-quality, bad, crude plot in a beautiful cover.

The good thing about ME3's ending is that we know that whatever we do in the game is all for nothing, so there is no point buying the DLC. This is probably the easiest game to deny ourselves DLC for and possibly change the gaming industry (with a lot of luck and :wizard:) at the same time.

I read those conversations with Jessica and Mike Gambel in full on Holdtheline
I must say ONe can see that they feel the heat....so the pressure is immense on them...
I know they will make best they can do with starchild ...but If we dont like it it will go to STRATOSPHERE...Mass media is behind us not gaming media as expected...and they will cover our rage if it will berubbish which probably it will as this ending as is makes zero sense...
All in all I know if we stay on the line and keep pushing we will get what we want as this is too big now!!!

My question is .During this whole course of our action Gaming media proved themselves ineffective and self righteous patronizing and down rude..lost even that little bit of credibility they had left(mind you they didnt have much left in the first place)...
I cant trust any scores they give any game under any circumstances...
IGN is the chief **** followed by GAMESPOT...
shame really...

I'm waiting for Bioware to confirm that no matter what, we still have to sit there and accept the starchild's logic. The moment they do this, that's the point I completely give up on this expanded endings crap.
