DJ and all - sorry of this has been posted before but this is a MUST read for everyone here if you want the developers to listen to us. Strongly recommend to add to Mr. Bond's link dump.

That article says what I've been saying for a long time now. People need to be willing to go without in order to make a point companies will understand, but most aren't that devoted to the cause they claim to support. Even those that are that devoted are outnumbered by the rest of this current generation who have no clue how to go without or even why they should have to. This generation is spoiled rotten and companies like EA feed on that, all the way to the bank. Kids buy stuff because they don't want to be "that kid" who doesn't have the latest (and usually not so greatest) expansion, etc.
If EA put out a paid DLC pack that gave you exactly what you wanted, even if it was the last money you ever spent on an EA product, you're letting them win if you buy it, plain and simple. Doing so gives them evidence that "we weren't really that upset since we were willing to buy X copies of the DLC", and thats what they'll tell the media to make us look like idiots, and the media will believe it, and so will most of the general public who see it.
If you really want to force change in this industry, you've got to be willing to sacrifice and go without. Don't just say it, DO it.
Is it easy? No, but no one ever said it would be. It comes down to just how much you really want change, and how much you are willing to sacrifice to get it.
Hit EA where it hurts, the bottom line. Make the stock price tank so the investors really sit up and notice. Do the absolute most you can with the resources you have.
Just my 2 credits (and thats 2 credits EA will
never see in their pockets).
