From what we know from people in the room, nobody has automatic rifles, so worst case scenario there'll only be a few bruises and broken bones should a riot break out. We also appear to have arrived in force, several people are claiming we definitely have a good number in there dis-satisfied. Now we all have to hope that nothing turns to violence, but it's good to know that we have men on our side, defending our honour in there.

Got it... So, it's only art if you approve of it.

Ah I love these folks who still insist Bioware is some starving beret laden artist painting a self expressionist piece in their studio and not a company with a few hundred people working on a mass marketed product to make a profit. Video games are a product first and art second. Easy to prove really. If ME1 had tanked, do you think there would have been an ME2 and 3? Yeah probably not. These products NEED to be sold or they don't exist. In your Apple example, you really think Apple would have stuck to their guns if they started losing serious money to the point where it was no longer profitable to offer a product? Again probably not.
Even assuming this IS art, some people seem to live in a strange naive world where art never changed indeed CANNOT change, and that's just false. Alot of the best know works of art were tweaked and adjusted by their creators. To say that art cannot be changed is to assume that art has to be static. That once an artist creates something to express himself he cannot change his mind or decide to look at something in a new light. This is a false purist assumption which is especially false in storytelling art as books, plays, movies and I guess now video games. Its very common for say movies to re edit after screenings to get peoples reaction. Video games have the beta testing process, books get rewrites, etc. Its simply a silly notion that art happens in a vacuum, ESPECIALLY when you get away from self expressionist art and into entertainment products.
In the end though, I may agree more than I seem to be. Truth is Bioware DOES own the rights to its story and product. If they wanted to end the game by having a clown jump out and flip everyone the bird followed by a message detailing how much Bioware hates its fans that would be well within their rights (unless you want to look at it from a false advertising perspective, which I'm not getting into). Detractors don't understand what the Retake movement is. Trust me, we know its ultimately Bioware product. Our demands are nothing more than strong fan feedback. Its an ultimatum to change.their product it lose our business. Nothing more complicated than that. Our demands don't come with legal teeth nor are we literally threatening to do anything to them beyond what is our right to do (take business elsewhere). And sorry for the late post. Just got here.[/quote]
Do you think that a painter who cannot sell his work can continue to afford to paint? No. Does that mean he shouldn't have final say in what his art is? No.
As far as "living in a naive world" where art is static, that's not what I was insinuating at all. Art can be changed, but at the discression of the artist. You don't see too many movies come out, bomb, and then the directors go back and change the movie to make it more palatable for the audience. That's it! Maybe the retake movement just isn't setting its scope wide enough. It shouldn't stop at ME3. Maybe it could expand to other games, and even other forms of media! Movies, music, hell..Even books! Why not?
I don't remember people getting this upset when they died of dysentary in Oregon Trail. That was a real downer.

How is it possible that main BW site is down, and BSN is not?
I suspect they're on different webservers. BSN is probably on its own cluster, and ME3/BiowareTV (I suspect Dragon Age site is probably on those same servers, someone can check if it's down) on their own box... which is now overloaded.
They probably had Network Load Balacing going.. but that only works if you have enough boxes to actually handle ALL the load hahaha.

So, apparently there is "no audio or video sadly for those asking. No media inside the panel". Found that posted here: http://www.presspauseradio.com/presspauseradio/2012/4/6/pax-east-2012-bioware-and-mass-effect.html
Also, someone wrote in the comments they heard that people outside the event were chanting Marauder Shields.![]()
That, and this way they can pull the usual PR crap much easier.. "we were happy to meet our fans and appreciate how much everyone loved the game" blah blah blah
Also, I kind of doubt they'll be getting any real heat from the audience, even if they did prepare for the worst. Mood is always so mellow at these types of events (at least all the ones I went to).
