Well guess it's time to pack up our bags and move onto something better. Bethesda, Rockstar, CD Project I'm on my way with my money to you.

Witcher 2 and Max Payne 3 for FTW!!!! unless thats not your thing:D

Heck yeah ! I actually already bought the retail version of The Witcher 2 to go nicely alongside my GOG version of it just to show my support to CD PROJECT RED. And MP3 looks good.

And i wont be taking my custom over to BW anym more. I rather give my hard earned money to CD PROJECT who actaully treats me like someone of value, and not some entitled little snotnosed brat .

Yep I said yesterday that even though I have Witcher 2 on PC I am going to buy it for my 360 just becuase CD Project Red cares about what the fans want/ like in their games. They still make the games they want to, but fan feedback is important to them so, THEY will get my money, despite having two of the same game

Rockstar too. They weren't even going to ask James Mc Caffrey back to reprise Max, becaue they wanted an older wiser voice behind him, but the fans asked that they recosider and even replay the games again and see he is the best fit they can get.

Rockstar decided they were right and, now we have the original and best Max back and according to interviews James did the motioncap work too. All about fan feedback. They did so in a civil way (most of them did anyway) and it paid off.

I remember another developer used to do that too... wonder what happened.

Wait until PAX , one month after buying ME3. Now most of us can't give it back to shops ;/

If it's true, then BW just commited a fraud.

there was one thing that was across various live blogs ...... a few people were wearing "maruder shields died for our sins" t-shirts THAT made me smile.

also did any of you notice that someone shouted out "can we get maruder shields as a squadmate" not all reported that tho

ok heres some facts for you, the
question moderator was chris, people had questions about ME3 endings and
there was reports of people wearing the retake t-shirts being asked to
leave.

some questions were refused by chris hence they were not asked.

some
pax tweeters say that some of the questions were handed out by bioware
staff, like who would want to know the stats of the game.

its now
looking like bioware did not want to aknowlage the retake protest and
openly rigged the questions by handing out question cards to random
people who opposed the retake movment, some of the people who were in
the retake ME3 were told they cannot ask any questions, or were asked to
leave.

so yeah bioware rigged there OWN Q&A and had
SOME people wearing the RETAKE t-shirts being asked to leave as they
"did not want trouble"

well done bioware, you f**ked up again

You know what, that reminds me at Putin, it has more than just similarities on press stuff.

Well, Joffrey wants to go to war against northeners, Daenerys is still wondering through desert, Cercei is in full lioness mode, putting Littlefinger to his place, the crows have moved beyond the wall and there are 5 kings in one kingdom.

As for the PAX panel, nothing, they did not adress the endings, just like they said.

Is drunken MP still an option?

I ran out of booze, so no. Then again, I might be able to lose a few braincells by proximity to Minty's posts, so maybe not totally ruled out B)

You're out of booze already? Wauw... I've been gone for 4 hours... I missed alot ! Image IPB

That it is. I hope they make season 3, I'd love to see the Hound-Arya-road trip with these actors.

I'm not that optimistic but I do agree with your view here... it could have been a lot worse.

This whole experience has left me so emotionally dead that I'm not too torn up about the bad Q and A that much at all.

Hells to the yes. Probably mix some drinks later tonight. :pinched:

Please try not to feel so badly about this, we've had an impact, they are listening. Time will tell us how they choose to implement it but we weren't brushed off tonight and while people weren't able to ask the questions that we wanted answered it's not really surprising. This whole thing has gotten everybody very tense and very passionate about whichever opinion they happen to hold. They couldn't have afforded for that to get out of control at PAX. Stay strong and take heart in the fact that they're listening enough to be implementing changes.

The Q&A period was -very- good.  The Q's asked may not have been the ones you wanted but they still ANSWERED a lot..  I am VERY happy with how this turned out.. seriously you guys have no idea how ecstatic I am right now.

First off: the fact they mentioned the ending, addressed most of the points that could be, that's a GREAT sign.. they weren't even supposed to expand on the endings today, but they did, and it's MUCH better than we had thought.

They had 1200 people cram into a theatre designed for 4-600... that tells you how much people cared about this.. that on its own gave them obvious pause.. they spoke about the ending DLC.. they also addressed the upset.

They've directly stated:

Discussing extended cut - NOT a reimagining of the endings or a new ending

Currently building it right now, cinematics team and writers heavily involved, working on it

"We definitely look, we definitely put together a list." The community team feed the dev team the questions. "We want to give you some more closure" around the questions you have, fill in some of the unknowns. "Want to give players a sense of personalization with the endings"

This right here is the crowning achievement of everything this stands for.  They're going to make our choices matter.. the fact that this isn't coming out till Summer means that they're going to have more voice actors in all likelihood, they very well could even have more gameplay... though I'd be happy with just cutscenes that filled in the plotholes.

Notice the talk about the indoctrination theory.. this part is particularly interesting to me.. the response was not a "Laugh - those fans be crazy" response..

"The indoctrination theory illustrates again how, um, committed the fanbase is..." don't want to comment either way. Don't want to be prescriprive -- fans interpret their own way, plus DLC coming. "We want the content to speak for itself, and we'll let it do so"

That right there tells me that they may actually be planning the 'indoctrination theory' route.. they're not going to call it that though.. this screams more of "We can't talk about this or we'll lose our jobs" speak, not "Those fans be crazy".

The numbers side of things is interesting to me as a programmer who works a LOT with databases and realtime/historical data mining.. a lot of what I work with is numbers numbers and more numbers.  They mentioned 64,000 states.. that means that they needed to genericize stuff and then make endings/comments tweaked just enough to account for those 64,000 different possibilities.. .you wouldn't want to be talking to Tali if Tali was dead sorta thing.  It IS a LOT of work, and explains why they went with the crap endings there.. They obviously got themselves stuck, didn't realize the endings til right before release and had to make all 64,000 of those variables suddenly matter.. which didn't work out in their bandaid.. it's why they're now taking til Summer to correct that...  They realize what they did wrong... Right there means we've achieved complete victory on that point.  They KNOW what they did wrong...

No matter how much you hate citadel kid, if they apply the same level of workmanship to everything coming that they've done to the game now on that basis we will get a good ending... I am confident enough with that to stake an Xbox 360 console on that.  I'll give it to Tami if they manage to completely screw up the ending now.  You heard that Bioware.  Tami's getting a 360 for her college dorm if you fubar this.. so don't!.  (I can put pictures up later.  It's a non-HDMI white 360 with a 120gb HDD, working - not xbl banned)

I'm still holding my wallet until this DLC drops.  That's my right as a customer and until I actually see it drop I'm not buying EA merch.. however I'm hopeful here that this will be a lesson in monumental PR screwups and design processes and they'll come out of this having learnt a valuable lesson.

So take heart my fellow liners.  This is an amazingly good thing.  I'll be happy to reply to comments/disagreements here.. enjoy the rest of your day!

Youve made some good points and I hope you are correct. Perhaps Bioware did just back themselves into a corner, ran out of time and now all this frustrating PR speak and crap talk we've been getting for the last 4 weeks is just their attempt to stall for time so they can finally complete the game.

If only....
