They did mention the Indoc Theory too. Their response to that was pretty interesting... They mentioned how "creative" the fanbase was in coming up with it and pretty much left it at that - said they weren't going to offer further comment because of the DLC they have coming up and that it would "speak for itself."

Well, that's interesting. I do hope they hear us, know that "explanation" is not enough for their loyal customers, and do something about it. Change it, I mean!

Naturally. Though if he ever ends up together with Sansa, I might wish he did.
I can't stand Sansa. I appreciate how she is written, and her character development, but still she annoys me.

I also feel the need to comment on this, I feel physically sick about these questions. I too understand that we were unlikely to get all the answers we wanted.

However to utterly ignore our movement and seed the audience with your own pre-picked questions is a snub. No two ways about it.

Again, they should have let us at least ask the questions, if all they could have said is we are looking into that. That would have been something even if it wasn't possible for them to give us concrete details.

But leaving a rather well organised movement in the dark completely without acknowledging us in any way feels like our voices haven't been heard.

Though as a small aside, I will be replaying mass effect 3 and importing my Shepard's face properly once the patch is released. I can't promise not to download the free DLC. Whilst the ending has spoiled the game for me but I'm prepared to suck it up to play one of my favourite game series... Hopefully time will lessen the pain. *sobs*

Holding the line.

Same question for you then: Could you provide a bullet point list of what you want please? Image IPB

I'd like them to actually face us head on and discuss things rather than keep up the constant dodging everytime someone questions the endings.

I know they likely don't have a clue or a plan, and I'm not expecting them to have one, but I'd like them to partake in an active discussion of it all.

Problem there is, that goes counter to the PR damage control playbook they are running right now, so it won't happen.  EA wants it to vanish so they can keep making money and they're calling the shots.

We all know they wont admit to making a mistake or lying to us, even though there's plenty of old posts from them with all sorts of claims that didn't hold true in the finished game.

Many tweets and posts by members of the staff to us have been less than polite and some were downright condescending (looking a lot at Priestly here).  I think that deserves an apology myself.  The first rule when dealing with customers is, "The customer is always right, even when they're wrong", and you never, ever insult them or their intelligence.

This time they got my money, but next time they won't.  The time after that they won't either.

Trust has to be earned, and at this point, they are starting from well below zero and I dont know that they'll ever get my trust again.

If others want to believe they've chaged all of a sudden and will provide more space magic to fix all the issues that started this thread, then enjoy.  I've seen EA/BW do nothing to earn my trust that they aren't going to screw me over again.

No worries!  Sorry to pose the question, it was kind of a filter to just make sure you weren't a rager and actually had thought out what you wanted addressed.. IE: were you going to be upset regardless what they gave you sorta thing.

I doubt you're ever going to get an admission of guilt or anything.  The sheer legal ramifications of that sorta thing would make the legal department's head explode.  If you're just out for their blood for hurting you with their crap endings you might want to try focusing the energy on something more constructive cause I guarantee regardless what they come out with you probably will still have the battlescars.

Part of why I asked for a bullet point list (Which you provided - thanks!) was as much for you as myself.  Having what you want in bullet point format lets you know when a milestone is reached.. say:

  • Want Bioware to be destroyed by Reapers (mother of irony) - Complete

It just provides a bit more end to your goals, if you don't tell them what they need to fix they're never going to be able to fix it, that point is guaranteed.

Honour holding the line with you *salutes*

Back from the soul crushing zone of Modern Warfare MP. Any news from PAX about Mass Effect?

PAX was a disaster. They showed the new MP DLC trailer, started talking about how hard it was to make ME3, patted themselves on the back for how emotional Mordin's death was and similar things, gave a 5 minute Q&A with what I suspect were plants (asinine questions about how Tali/Garrus hooked up, facial animations, etc), then done.

You missed nothing, and you're probably better off emotionally for it.

Just spent the last 30 or so minutes reading through the posts on pax, not happy and have no desire to continue playing mass effect or any BW game for that matter. Think we as a group should not download any MP or SP DLC they release from now on.

Encourage you to go back and read some of the posts from members here, I have a long one that gives a bit more balanced perspective than some of the "ANGRY ANGRY RAGEEEEEEEEEE HULK SMASH" ones we seem to have plenty of these days.  I'm not BUYING any DLC from Bioware til the Extended Cut drops, I'll take the freebies like the one coming out the 10th happily though Image IPB

Just went back and found it, does give a flicker of hope for something bigger and better but I wouldn't hold my breathe or anything like that my trust in bioware is pretty low these days. Was playing through the series again but after hearing the new ending was just extended cinamatics I stopped midway through 2 and just can't work up the interest to keep moving through it. But think I'll hang on to them and not trade them in like I was planning to just in case something good is released in the future

Guys, I'll be here every day, but for a short time this weekend. I don't want to discuss it, and I never brought it here and won't now as a discussion or imposing view. So I just ask the respect of all, even those who don't share my faith.

It's Holy Weekend, and I'll be busy through most of it. So, sorry for not spending more time here with my friends.

Hold the line!

Not much about the ending. There's been a good discussion and ppl are split with the way BW handled things. Honestly I won't hold my breath, but I'm hoping they'll surprise me. It's extremely important to me since whether it makes me feel better or not will make me decide to abandon BW forever or not.

I've already abandoned a few companies I loved over the years(most recently crapcom) and I REALLY don't wanna do it to BW.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst... wish I'd done the same for the initial release. I'm so heartbroken...

Indeed. But she did provide me with a few laughs when I ended up on some character appreciation forum a year ago. There was, of course, Hound/Sansa thread, and people commenting on how 'Hound's fatherly feelings towards Sansa are his one redeeming quality'.

Fatherly is not the word I'd have used.

So what kind of fan anguis and outrage?

lol, sorry for snipping your name off :) Depending on how far you've read, there are various points of "no...No... NOOOOOMFG!!!!" but people were pretty venomous over the time it took for the last one, and then what was actually delivered (though I remain a fan; keep writing GRRM and take care of your health!). It's a good parallel to this situation, really.

haven't watched the mini-series myself yet ... but I read the books up to vol 5 and I had my share of "no ... Nooo ... NOOOOOO wtf???" -moments too.
can't count the times I threw those books in a corner being furious about some character-twist :) ... but I always came back to read them at a later time ... just too good a read to keep gathering dust

Trust me my money wants to go to something else right now. It still has some confidence that things will work out, but right now April and May have two big releases that it wants to help buy.

BTW is your name an Always Sunny in Philly refernce?

Indeed. Been to those forums as well to indulge in the more contrived theories. Yeah, those people be crazy.

Also, still don't get the appeal of Hound/Sansa but, as you aptly put it, to each their own

Hm. Kinda annoyed how they kept playing up the 'artist' angle.

But can't be angry with how they went about things, really.

Still not optimistic; they really should have told us exact details...but I can wait until summer.

wow...that was underwhelming. Well I for one will most certainly not touch the MP DLC guessing it was just some new maps. That truly awful that the real fan questions weren't addressed I mean we all know how Tali/Garrus hooked up.

Maybe they rather believe in some higher moral and ray of light inside Hound's soul than the obvious answer. I for one like how accurately Martin has lifted the Medieval socio-cultural environment to his books, including the average marriage age and such. :P

That being said, I still have no idea what HBO did to get that.... 'toddler breastfeeding scene' with Lysa Tully through screening. It is a good characterisation scene, and I thought it'd be totally undoable on TV.

Ask me anything you like, I have nothing to hide

I don't want blood per se, but I'd love a roundtable discussion of the key issues with the people who were directly responsible on the BW side.  One by one lay out each question and have them give us in detail exactly where they were coming from.  Most of us are grasping at straws trying to find what little meaning we can in those horrid endings, but the people who may actually have the answers aren't talking to us at all, and that only makes it worse  from my perspective.

What I don't want is for EA to come out of this smelling like roses, since I'd bet good money a lot of this whole mess is their doing.  Would I love to see their stock value tank as a result of this?  Sure, it would send a solid message, one that they couldnt just ignore like they do now.

I honestly don't see how they'll ever regain my trust.  The feeling I had at the end was like one you'd have in thinking you've married the perfect person, someone you can trust and devote your time to, then coming home one day and finding them banging a Hanar in the bedroom.  In that instant, trust is shattered and usually never regained, and the emotional scars last for ages.

Thats how the endings made me feel, and my RL is already almost that depressing, so I didn't need to heap more misery on top of it.

Games are played by people to have fun and feel uplifted, not to have their hearts torn out by some nonsensical ending that is only justified by a blanket statement of "artistic integrity" whenever someone questions it.  Thats dodging the question, and it's all we've gotten out of them, and I've had enough of it.

I keep asking myself, "If they are that convinced they did the right thing, why are they hiding behind that statement so much.  Would someone who was convinced in his cause so strongly be hiding so much?".   I don't think so.
