Back on topic Mass Effect is my favourite game series and I hope the Extended Cut will give us, the most passionate fans, a true ending. Yes it may not be what we had hoped for, but at least the planned DLC will hopefully show us our choices and make them personal.

I think, if they can explain it to a certain extent, then I may forgive Starchild etc. as long as the ending is something I will want to watch again and again when I want to feel sad/heroic/happy

Maybe they rather believe in some higher moral and ray of light inside Hound's soul than the obvious answer. I for one like how accurately Martin has lifted the Medieval socio-cultural environment to his books, including the average marriage age and such. 

That being said, I still have no idea what HBO did to get that.... 'toddler breastfeeding scene' with Lysa Tully through screening. It is a good characterisation scene, and I thought it'd be totally undoable in TV.

Honestly there's a few things I wouldn't have minded for the ending not to mention the whole game. For simplicities sake I'll go with my three big ones: more than the tri-coloured ending also to have the endings reflect choices made, the removal of the starchild thing and all it's illogical statements and the Reapers to go back to the we're beyond your comprehension model, not this we're the Starchild's b****** and we kill you to save you.

Out side of the game I'd love for Bioware to have a spine and stand up and say what they think not cower behind the PR speak like children, I mean even this "clarification" ending is them talking down to anyone that didn't like the endings. But that's not likely to happen ever.

So basically you want:

• Your choices to make sense
  
• Plotholes fixed
  
• Reapers to not be run by a child with buggy coding logic
  
• More ending cutscenes that are not differentiated by colour only.
  
• "Bioware to grow a spine"

All reasonable, save the last one.. a corporate entity has no 'spine'.  Not to mention some people don't speak well, especially engineers.  Think of some geniuses with no social grace whatsoever... a lot of the top artists/engineers are the same way, great on their focus... more than likely them coming out to 'address us' would just make things worse without really meaning to.  Demanding they 'grow one' is borderline bullying, and I disagree with it strongly. 
They don't KNOW what they're doing in a lot of cases yet.. they have a rough idea, but the left hand, in a lot of cases, doesn't talk to the right.

The Reapers being run by citadelkid may not be a GOOD choice, but it's part of the story, whether or not they keep it is another question.. However, if they fixed everything else, and made the reapers run by Windows KId make sense (think of all the other completely wacko ideas they've made sense of in all the games), are you really going to not like it?   If that's the case you need to ask yourself if you just don't like it because they're not doing what you want.. if it makes sense (even a last minute plot addition, though bad form, can work and can work well if given proper context - a word they specifically used in the Q&A meaning they understand that now)

Don't stop holding the line, but at the same time, make sure your requests aren't just out to shame Bioware.. those will never be fixed, and frankly never should be.

lol sooo after reading the pax happenings i went bought a nice 18 rack of PBR (beer) turned on the IPL4 LOL tournament and now am waiting for a nice 2 hour block of UFC @ 10. dont feel like going to the local bar def a 12 beer apt fest lol so ill be holding the line all noght on and off

Not much about the ending. There's been a good discussion and ppl are split with the way BW handled things. Honestly I won't hold my breath, but I'm hoping they'll surprise me. It's extremely important to me since whether it makes me feel better or not will make me decide to abandon BW forever or not.

I've already abandoned a few companies I loved over the years(most recently crapcom) and I REALLY don't wanna do it to BW.

Well, we did get baby-killing on the first episode of season 2, so I wouldn't put it past them completely.

before:
"not ABC ending" = "here's your ABC ending (ARTISTIC!)"
"leaked MP DLC is a fake" = "here's your MP DLC"
Now:
"more than just a few cinematic scenes"
I guess it translates from Bioware language (Biowarish? Biowarian?) as "we will give you a few cinematic scenes, please shut up".

That cheering is for the good stuff mostly and out of politeness. If this was an all-out hype crowd, the mic of the camera would have probably stopped working.

And if it's going to take them a few months to make, there's no way it's gonna be wimpy. 
I wish they'd given more information, but I'd say this counts as a victory.

I don't want blood per se, but I'd love a roundtable discussion of the key issues with the people who were directly responsible on the BW side.  One by one lay out each question and have them give us in detail exactly where they were coming from.  Most of us are grasping at straws trying to find what little meaning we can in those horrid endings, but the people who may actually have the answers aren't talking to us at all, and that only makes it worse  from my perspective.

What I don't want is for EA to come out of this smelling like roses, since I'd bet good money a lot of this whole mess is their doing.  Would I love to see their stock value tank as a result of this?  Sure, it would send a solid message, one that they couldnt just ignore like they do now.

I honestly don't see how they'll ever regain my trust.  The feeling I had at the end was like one you'd have in thinking you've married the perfect person, someone you can trust and devote your time to, then coming home one day and finding them banging a Hanar in the bedroom.  In that instant, trust is shattered and usually never regained, and the emotional scars last for ages.

Thats how the endings made me feel, and my RL is already almost that depressing, so I didn't need to heap more misery on top of it.

Games are played by people to have fun and feel uplifted, not to have their hearts torn out by some nonsensical ending that is only justified by a blanket statement of "artistic integrity" whenever someone questions it.  Thats dodging the question, and it's all we've gotten out of them, and I've had enough of it.

I keep asking myself, "If they are that convinced they did the right thing, why are they hiding behind that statement so much.  Would someone who was convinced in his cause so strongly be hiding so much?".   I don't think so.

They're partially hiding behind a statement because anytime a company admits making a mistake there are legal, and monetary consequences.  They've already devoted, what sounds like substantial, time & money to this project.. the fact it's taking til SUMMER now is insane honestly.. a studio with 53 designers, and something like 150 other staff would cost $5,000,000 for 6 months of just salaries (assuming an avg of $50k per person, I'm sure some of them probably make substantially more than that).. that's a SIGNIFICANT investment for something that's going to not make them a cent but actually COST them in terms of distribution costs for the PSN and 360 Xbox live, and general bandwidth/support/qa costs.  That is basically a massive admission of error for a company to make.

I agree with you, I would have liked the game to have different things that it didn't, but the only part that ruined it for me was the ending, and if they address the parts (as they, so far, have said they are) I will be pleased and the game will not be ruined for me anymore.

I'm done with crapcom with its Street Fighter X Tekken fiasco. I'm a semi-competetive fighting game player, so I had really high expectations from the game. Have you seen the DLC(Disc Locked Content) of this game? It's ridiculous. Not to mention Asura's Wrath's TRUE ENDING IS A PAID DLC!!!

Yeah, this time i will give bioware the benefit of doubt, Who knows, they might surprise us this time.Don't forget they've made a 99% awesome game and now they have some months just to focus on the ending.
If this turns out to be true and bioware fix the current ending, i will let alchool assume direct control over me when this is all over. xD
