Any summery of the ME3 panel?

Mine from earlier:

The Q&A period was -very- good. The Q's asked may not have been the ones you wanted but they still ANSWERED a lot.. I am VERY happy with how this turned out.. seriously you guys have no idea how ecstatic I am right now.

First off: the fact they mentioned the ending, addressed most of the points that could be, that's a GREAT sign.. they weren't even supposed to expand on the endings today, but they did, and it's MUCH better than we had thought.

They had 1200 people cram into a theatre designed for 4-600... that tells you how much people cared about this.. that on its own gave them obvious pause.. they spoke about the ending DLC.. they also addressed the upset.

They've directly stated:

Discussing extended cut - NOT a reimagining of the endings or a new ending

Currently building it right now, cinematics team and writers heavily involved, working on it

"We definitely look, we definitely put together a list." The community team feed the dev team the questions. "We want to give you some more closure" around the questions you have, fill in some of the unknowns. "Want to give players a sense of personalization with the endings"

This right here is the crowning achievement of everything this stands for. They're going to make our choices matter.. the fact that this isn't coming out till Summer means that they're going to have more voice actors in all likelihood, they very well could even have more gameplay... though I'd be happy with just cutscenes that filled in the plotholes.

Notice the talk about the indoctrination theory.. this part is particularly interesting to me.. the response was not a "Laugh - those fans be crazy" response..

"The indoctrination theory illustrates again how, um, committed the fanbase is..." don't want to comment either way. Don't want to be prescriprive -- fans interpret their own way, plus DLC coming. "We want the content to speak for itself, and we'll let it do so"

That right there tells me that they may actually be planning the 'indoctrination theory' route.. they're not going to call it that though.. this screams more of "We can't talk about this or we'll lose our jobs" speak, not "Those fans be crazy".

The numbers side of things is interesting to me as a programmer who works a LOT with databases and realtime/historical data mining.. a lot of what I work with is numbers numbers and more numbers. They mentioned 64,000 states.. that means that they needed to genericize stuff and then make endings/comments tweaked just enough to account for those 64,000 different possibilities.. .you wouldn't want to be talking to Tali if Tali was dead sorta thing. It IS a LOT of work, and explains why they went with the crap endings there.. They obviously got themselves stuck, didn't realize the endings til right before release and had to make all 64,000 of those variables suddenly matter.. which didn't work out in their bandaid.. it's why they're now taking til Summer to correct that... They realize what they did wrong... Right there means we've achieved complete victory on that point. They KNOW what they did wrong...

No matter how much you hate citadel kid, if they apply the same level of workmanship to everything coming that they've done to the game now on that basis we will get a good ending... I am confident enough with that to stake an Xbox 360 console on that. I'll give it to Tami if they manage to completely screw up the ending now. You heard that Bioware. Tami's getting a 360 for her college dorm if you fubar this.. so don't!. (I can put pictures up later. It's a non-HDMI white 360 with a 120gb HDD, working - not xbl banned)

I'm still holding my wallet until this DLC drops. That's my right as a customer and until I actually see it drop I'm not buying EA merch.. however I'm hopeful here that this will be a lesson in monumental PR screwups and design processes and they'll come out of this having learnt a valuable lesson.

So take heart my fellow liners. This is an amazingly good thing. I'll be happy to reply to comments/disagreements here.. enjoy the rest of your day!

arouns the 4 minute mark.. u basicly hear them admiting they bit off more then they could chew .
the original plan they set for me 3. the new charactors the new planets the wa and multiplayer . and all that.. might have been planned all alone. but.
the whole importing your choices from me 1 and 2.. were not well planned or thought out in the best of ways.
they didhnt have time to include most of them into the finished product . they realized having tali pic atleast was the bare min.
but they relaly ran out of time . the rEApers were pushing them hard and fast for a release.
but they couldnt come out and say ops we didntr have enough time.
but this is the same information they used to come to that conclusion themselves. so in a senser they are letting us know. without spikeing the PR monsters ire.

soo i do think we wil lsee alot more of the choices we made in 1 2 and 3.. come into there new extended cut dlc .
and remember the indoc theory didnt seek to destroy the ending only explain it. basicly adding to the ending.
so it fits . so far. in what we wanted to acomplish.
yes it could sitl be smoke and mirrors but.. i got a bit of .. hope.

It's okay.  I run unit tests on all my posts... (Post submitted.. oh crap, I made a mistake, fix). <- that's totally a unit test right...right? 

I realize everyone here has different personalities.. part of what makes this whole thing SO amazing.  EVERYONE agrees.. that's unheard of on the internet.  Not everyone's gonna be optimistic.. that's okay.  So long as we're all civil to each other.

EA announced the new "extended cut" yesterday morning.  Insert small-scale nuclear exchange from Line holders.  Today PAX Peace conference went ahead.  Good framework to Treaty of Choices put down and agreed to.  Some hardliners still wanting to nuke things, a lot of people thinking it's probably better to wait it out rather than scorched earth ourselves.

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.

My 360 is 1080p.. on a 47" 3D TV... I saw my endings in 2D to 3D crap mode!  I HAD 3D Crap \\o/

Rather have that Dual DVD disc set than an fps of 20 which is near the unacceptable range in action games. With that said, I still have my PS3 CE as well.
