For sure. It is bad enough that there will still be space magic, but at least let the "single player only" players enjoy the fruits of their labor. If there really were 16 different endings, this would be my biggest gripe about the game. If they are sincere on having our choices somewhat matter in the end, then don't punish players who can't or don't want to play multiplayer.

Are they even aware that this EMS thing is a huge problem to people who can't play mp?

[*]All reasonable, save the last one.. a corporate entity has no 'spine'.  Not to mention some people don't speak well, especially engineers.  Think of some geniuses with no social grace whatsoever... a lot of the top artists/engineers are the same way, great on their focus... more than likely them coming out to 'address us' would just make things worse without really meaning to.  Demanding they 'grow one' is borderline bullying, and I disagree with it strongly.
They don't KNOW what they're doing in a lot of cases yet.. they have a rough idea, but the left hand, in a lot of cases, doesn't talk to the right.

The Reapers being run by citadelkid may not be a GOOD choice, but it's part of the story, whether or not they keep it is another question.. However, if they fixed everything else, and made the reapers run by Windows KId make sense (think of all the other completely wacko ideas they've made sense of in all the games), are you really going to not like it?   If that's the case you need to ask yourself if you just don't like it because they're not doing what you want.. if it makes sense (even a last minute plot addition, though bad form, can work and can work well if given proper context - a word they specifically used in the Q&A meaning they understand that now)

Don't stop holding the line, but at the same time, make sure your requests aren't just out to shame Bioware.. those will never be fixed, and frankly never should be.

*salutes* Glad to have you on the line with us! Image IPB

[*]wth is with these bullet points...[*]
[*]Anyways surprised you replied, and apologizes for the slightly delayed reply, I normally fire off a random comment then go do stuff...>_> but ya if they fixed all those issues I would have no problem even if they kept the hellspawn child, but I would be extremely surprised if they managed to keep it in the story and make it all make sense...Not to mention they've already stated that the tri-force ending is the "ending"[*]
[*]I also don't care to shame them, now if somehow this could all cost EA without damaging Bioware or the other smaller companies I'd be a happy person, but again not something that'll happen[*]
[*]As for the spine comment they don't have to come out with some amazing speech, but this round circle commenting from a PR group that is out of touch with the development team is just ridiculous. Makes me think of Peter Molyneaux. Although you do have a point w/e they say would be twisted and they'd be lynched for it. [*]
[*]Idk honestly I think what they've said they're going to do (as vague as that has been) is all they're going to do, it would be highly unlikely that anymore can be forced outta them, like getting them to redo the ending. So it's turned into the wait and see game. If this "clarification" somehow turns out to be good then I'll consider buying future stuff, but I'm a pessimist and the fact is without altering the ending I cannot see them explaining half the stuff they've got in there.[*]
[*]Dammit Bullet points go away

ROFL.. yeah they really realllly need to fix the bullet points on here.. shift+enter a couple times usually works oddly enough.

No worries on the delay, I sometimes forget to "Sign off" and just go to bed in the middle of conversations sometimes haha.

I WIN THE BEING-OLD-ON-THIS-THREAD TROPHY!

But ponder this... you're old enough to remember when not everyone had a cellphone, right?

Someday, before you know it, all the people you know who are younger than you by a generation or so will have grown up in a time where iPhones and Androids were normal, and for whom "a time before cellphones" will sound as weird as "a time before videogames" might seem to you! (My parents grew up with, like, three or four channels of black-and-white television, which to me when I was growing up might as well have meant living in a cave eating roots and berries.)

mindblown.gif

See, I grew up in Japan, so by the time I was 7, every single Japanese person owned a cellphone. I got my first cellphone when I was 9...

But I do remember when iPods weren't around, and I had to use a CD player to listen to my favorite songs. I was quite happy when I burned my first CD...<_<

I had a walkman, can remember a time before CD's and saw one of the first mobile/cell phones to go on sale in the UK (and no, that wasn't 2009 for Americans attempting 'humour' :P). Damn, that phone was the size of my arm...drop that on a concreate floor and it would leave a hole.

I can also remember a time before video recordings (Yes kiddies, there was a time when if you wanted to watch a TV show you had to tune in on the right day and the right time....), when there was a battle between Betamax and VHS (Ask your parents). Heck, I can even remember when the Simpsons was funny....

ok heres some facts for you, the question moderator was chris, people had questions about ME3 endings and there was reports of people wearing the retake t-shirts being asked to leave.

some questions were refused by chris hence they were not asked.

some pax tweeters say that some of the questions were handed out by bioware staff, like who would want to know the stats of the game.

its now looking like bioware did not want to aknowlage the retake protest and openly rigged the questions by handing out question cards to random people who opposed the retake movment, some of the people who were in the retake ME3 were told they cannot ask any questions, or were asked to leave.

so yeah bioware rigged there OWN Q&A and had SOME people wearing the RETAKE t-shirts being asked to leave as they "did not want trouble"

well done bioware, you f**ked up again

Is it sad that at this point this does not suprise me in the least? <_<

I got carded for like GTAIV... but that's more cause they thought the guy behind me was a cop fining people for not carding lol.

As much as I approve making bioware go to their rooms to think about what they have done, I believe cooler heads will prevail here. Hold off on the witch hunts until we get to see exactly what it is we are getting, bioware has already proven they can say one thing and do something different (huehuehuehuehuehuehuehue) so anything they say can go anywhere, until we see the damn thing no point getting mad about it. Not trying to shoot anybody down but their obnoxious refusal to be adamantly specific leaves too much room to be certain.

The Q&A period was -very- good.  The Q's asked may not have been the ones you wanted but they still ANSWERED a lot..  I am VERY happy with how this turned out.. seriously you guys have no idea how ecstatic I am right now.

First off: the fact they mentioned the ending, addressed most of the points that could be, that's a GREAT sign.. they weren't even supposed to expand on the endings today, but they did, and it's MUCH better than we had thought.

They had 1200 people cram into a theatre designed for 4-600... that tells you how much people cared about this.. that on its own gave them obvious pause.. they spoke about the ending DLC.. they also addressed the upset.

They've directly stated:

Discussing extended cut - NOT a reimagining of the endings or a new ending

Currently building it right now, cinematics team and writers heavily involved, working on it

"We definitely look, we definitely put together a list." The community team feed the dev team the questions. "We want to give you some more closure" around the questions you have, fill in some of the unknowns. "Want to give players a sense of personalization with the endings"

This right here is the crowning achievement of everything this stands for.  They're going to make our choices matter.. the fact that this isn't coming out till Summer means that they're going to have more voice actors in all likelihood, they very well could even have more gameplay... though I'd be happy with just cutscenes that filled in the plotholes.

Notice the talk about the indoctrination theory.. this part is particularly interesting to me.. the response was not a "Laugh - those fans be crazy" response..

"The indoctrination theory illustrates again how, um, committed the fanbase is..." don't want to comment either way. Don't want to be prescriprive -- fans interpret their own way, plus DLC coming. "We want the content to speak for itself, and we'll let it do so"

That right there tells me that they may actually be planning the 'indoctrination theory' route.. they're not going to call it that though.. this screams more of "We can't talk about this or we'll lose our jobs" speak, not "Those fans be crazy".

The numbers side of things is interesting to me as a programmer who works a LOT with databases and realtime/historical data mining.. a lot of what I work with is numbers numbers and more numbers.  They mentioned 64,000 states.. that means that they needed to genericize stuff and then make endings/comments tweaked just enough to account for those 64,000 different possibilities.. .you wouldn't want to be talking to Tali if Tali was dead sorta thing.  It IS a LOT of work, and explains why they went with the crap endings there.. They obviously got themselves stuck, didn't realize the endings til right before release and had to make all 64,000 of those variables suddenly matter.. which didn't work out in their bandaid.. it's why they're now taking til Summer to correct that...  They realize what they did wrong... Right there means we've achieved complete victory on that point.  They KNOW what they did wrong...

No matter how much you hate citadel kid, if they apply the same level of workmanship to everything coming that they've done to the game now on that basis we will get a good ending... I am confident enough with that to stake an Xbox 360 console on that.  I'll give it to Tami if they manage to completely screw up the ending now.  You heard that Bioware.  Tami's getting a 360 for her college dorm if you fubar this.. so don't!.  (I can put pictures up later.  It's a non-HDMI white 360 with a 120gb HDD, working - not xbl banned)

I'm still holding my wallet until this DLC drops.  That's my right as a customer and until I actually see it drop I'm not buying EA merch.. however I'm hopeful here that this will be a lesson in monumental PR screwups and design processes and they'll come out of this having learnt a valuable lesson.

So take heart my fellow liners.  This is an amazingly good thing.  I'll be happy to reply to comments/disagreements here.. enjoy the rest of your day!

Thank you, Computim. Thank you very much. This is a good view of what we just had at PAX.

Ok, problem is they said they heard what we asked for, but were just like "no, we aren't going to do that. We'll do what we feel is best."
This is what makes it hard for me to stay level headed... They are basically saying our feedback doesn't really effect anything, and that they will give us a little more closure on THEIR endings to shut us up. And plus the whole thing about them rigging the PAX Q&A is a little disconserning... :pinched:

Also, there are pieces in this article that are wrong. 1) there is going to be NO new gameplay, that confirmed this. 2) all the major parts of the ending (I.E. the normandy situation, the godchild, the mass relays) are still going to be there. 3) It is not new endings, simply revisions of the current ones with a couple extra scenes to "help make our desisions feel like they matter." the fact that all the problems of the original ending is this there proves that this is completely pointless.

Yeah...getting your car armored is actually quite easy in Brazil. Everyoby who has a little bit more money gets their car armored. My family never got ours armored because we lived in a smaller, and the 3rd safest town in the country.
