Actually when light is split it only makes RGB. If you go right up to your TV next time it is on (or your computer right now) look very closely and you will see that every image is made of RGB pixels in different patterns to give the appearance of the other colours. Just tried it with my laptop screen and doesn't work so well, but it is easier to see on an LCD TV.
