And that's exactly what they needed to do. just speak candidly about the ending, and give details, instead of battening down all hatches and blaming us.

Reading that I got a lot more enthusiastic about the extended dlc. Just think of the damage they could have avoided if they had just been honest and open with us from the beginning.

^ this sooo much

Just keep going forward with moves like this Bioware and you can win (earn) back your "most passionate" fanbase.  Don't go back to uber PR mode...please?

Best bit of writing in the game, it was very refreshing instead of the usual jovial or sarcastic remarks, that's when it hit home to me the pressure was on.

It was anarchy! Retakers were throwing the punch while chanting "Marauder Shields, Marauder Shields!" in a drunken mob. Some Pro-enders came in and were quickly taken down by bunches of white Kirrahe shirts (which were wet for some reason) and minature Garrus statues. And don't get me started on the dance floor when DJ Harbinger took over...

Just kidding. MintyCool came back with a few "friends" and derailed the thread for a bit. Some of us were turning them toward having a polite, reasonable discussion, but most were insulting them or trying to tr*ll the tr*lls. We needed a mod to get us back on track.

Surprised this thread isn't locked considering the title itself is baiting a flamewar.

My favorite scene is one people will find weird.

On Mars When Shepard and (romanced) Ash come upon that huskified Cerberus Trooper, and Ash talks about her fears about what TIM may have done to Shepard while bringing him back.  "That could have been you, Shepard.  For all I knew, that's what Cerberus had done to you"  I thought that put her fears in much better perspective than Horizon ever did.

And I loved Sheps answer:

"I'm the same person I always was, Ash.  And I want you with me, wherever this takes us"

And Ash's response:  "That's what I needed to hear"

Pity Bioware had other plans...:crying:

Thats called getting you emotionally invested, and thinking you'll get a nice payoff, then yanking the rug from beneath you and going

SUPRISE MUTHA*******!!!! :pinched:

Were they banned?

EDIT: also, I don't see what else Pro-Ending people can do. Not like they can force Bioware to not release an extended cutscene, so...pointless to argue?

Where was Harbinger? Can we ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL of him?
"I definitely want more closure on Harbinger. That'd be hilarious. Stop punching yourself, Harbinger".

So will we have more harbinger on the extended cut dlcImage IPB???

Honestly, with the extended cut, I wouldn't expect much but then again I never really wanted much. I do want clarification on what happens to Shepard if He/She survives the multicolored blast. Hell, just a scene after the credits with a crippled Shepard looking out the hospital window with his/her LI by his/her side and the camera flies out to see everyone on earth rebuilding. THAT would honestly shut me up.

I don't care about the plotholes, holy as they are.
I don't care about the starchild, even though it's the worst thing, ever.
I definitely don't care about the stargazer... seriously trash that.

All I want to know is if my Shepard could at least be reunited with Garrus. That's all I ask.

Yeah.  I thought that scene, and the fall of Thessia, was probably one of the best scenes in the entire series, if not THE best.  I'd finally gotten to see my favourite species' planet... was just as awed by it, and then completely screwed over by Cerberus...
Not only would I have renegaded  Joker despite being full Paragon, I would have renegaded a puppy and a line full of orphans at that point I was so upset.  It hit home.. I actually was like "Okkayyy calm down Shepard" when I had said it, and then he walked away.. which is probably what I would have done (because you know I'm totally the kind of person who commands stealth frigates and goes off saving the galaxy  *cough*)

It just hit home that this was ME... if I was in that situation I would have done that.. it was epic, I was tearing up with anger (seriously which I don't do for video games)

I collected myself, and before I was done talking to Anderson on the quantum link I had already thought "screw this.. we take this fight to Cerberus"... so when that's what my Shepard did I had to hold in my double fist air pumps of awesome.

This game made me happy.. I would have sold this game to a penguin at the north pole (don't ask me how he got there, his GPS was crap) at that point... I was telling -everyone-... then I got to the end and just didn't say anything about it for a week, I came on here and it took about 6 or 7 days to get over the shock and "GAHHHHH WHAT JUST HAPPENED" lol.

Well, one just posted (two above your post I am quoting here), so I'd say no. And honestly I don't think MintyCool deserves it now. S/He was being inflammatory sure, but after some polite responses s/he also started being nice. It was just a bad start.

I've read that article pertaining to Weekes a couple times now. I'm wondering if they are trying make sure we understand that the whole galaxy wasn't destroyed simply so the ending doesn't seem so implausible, or if they are trying to leave it open for another sequal.

The way it's worded, when he says plot important characters on the citadel weren't killed, what difference would it make unless they had something planned? I can't exactly imagine what the main conflict would be in a new Mass Effect game, but it would at least be interesting to see what they come up with.

And another thing, is he saying that EDI doesn't actually get killed with the red splosion ending? I'm not following that.

I'd have a hard time playing a Mass Effect game with someone other than Shepard though.

And a little something to lighten the mood; Bass Effect

Interesting read and it'll be interesting to see how they explain Joker's cowardice of running away.

Funny last nite I watched my nephew play the ending of ME3 and yes I had a few beers which might have obscured my thoughts but I started to wonder if probs with the ending didn't happen with just Star Kid but started to happen with the whole London mission.

As I watched him play it and when it got to the cannon bit and he was having waves and waves of the sames enemies, and yes he was screaming at the tv (I'm running out of ammo help what to I do) it felt more like MP than SP.  While laughing at his desperation to stay alive I just told him to run like hell to the other cannon and lo and behold once he pressed the button all those enemies disapeared magically.  He turned around and said where did they all go.

Suprisingly he never moaned about the star child or the 3 colour choices but just sat silent for a moment after the end credits went up and after a minute said there has to be more coming out for this.  This isn't an ending but a "to be continued".

Yeah I really think had they had the time they would have included a citadel mission too.. it seems like they just got rushed near the end and then suddenly had all these choices from all 3 games now they had to make into an ending... and it didn't work out too well, which is why they're now taking till summer to do it right.

"It didn't work out too well" is putting it nicely

Wait. Talking about Citadel, weren't they going to use a Citadel mission that was supposed to be in a previous ME (I think ME2) but they never got to it? Was it the mission with Udina or something else?

If you lot stayed in this thread instead of spilling over and taking over the next 50 pages of the forums with the same "Hold the line" rubbish so people could actually discuss the game you would find you would get less grief. I find the whole psychology of this self-entitlement attitude everyone has adopted to be simply mind boggling. I blame the public school system.

All this rubbish about not having the time for development of other missions that would of suited the game better is nonsense. Had they not decided to waste their war assets on building the kinnect features then maybe Bioware's EMS would of been a respectable level so they wouldn't have to cop the "hold the retakers" cycle.

As I said I was rather tipsy last nite but watching him play the London mission felt like watching someone play MP zone. But I have to thank Bioware as watching him panic at the cannon me made laugh so much I head tears of laughter.

I consider this the bare minimum, too. Though I'd like some closure for the squadmates/other important characters, even if it is just a bunch of slides with Shepard narrating "and Bailey became the new executor of the Citadel after showing exceptional leadership skills during the evacutation of civilians into the shelters" or some such stuff.
