I tried to not look at them, I tried but the people here with all their talking got me curious. So I read the spoilers. I have to say while it does feel and look like a let down, I am optimistic that things aren't what they seem. Now I know people have said these endings are the real deal and there is no patch or anything, but I have a feeling I just can't explain, though I will try: It gets sorta of long so read it or don't.

Since Bioware/EA did this ME3 Space edition thing it seems as if they knew, despite asking them not to leak spoilers, some of them would in fact do exactly that. So they send copies with alternate outcomes, say even scrapped outcomes that they were going to use but then didn't for whatever reasons they had. In that way if those with Space copies did leak info, they'd leak the wrong info.

This of course will and did get people up in arms, and many including me are ever more curious to see if this is in fact what we get after all our hard work getting a playthrough we saw fit.

IMO this is fantastic hype/ marketing or whatever you call it. It gets us talking, it gets us mad and/or worried, it gets us sort of afraid. It just makes us react. This just seems.. off to me.

Now if these end are real ( and based on some pics and other info they seem likely) then I will play the game and when decision time comes I'll make a choice I see that fits into my Shepard's story.

However it just seems too easy. These leaks are just way too easy, imo

I'll see for myself Tuesday, but I get a feeling that all isn't what we/I think it is.

it is very common, lots of good business men have the mantra of 'under promise, over deliver' this would be a cleverly planned and pulled off campaign to make themselves look great....all they would have had to do is keep that extra ending under wraps (hmm....activating it/completing it with the day 1 patch.....)

I hate to be obnoxious and say this again, but i would like to add that the review at IGN is PAST the 20 hour mark in game time and he is still not even close to being done with the game.

Maybe he will have a different ending since he is being a lot more prefectionist? I still don't understand how someone can have a complete playthrough with all side missions in just 23 hours. How does he even know where all the side quests are? *cry

Sadly, I think pleading for some kind of retconned DLC ending isn't going to work, and will probably just make the writers mad. Mac views himself as an artist, after all. He won't sacrifice his vision to appease the audience, especially since we've already paid.

There are two options: a supplemental DLC that expands on the ending was always part Bioware's plan, or the included endings are all that there is.

If EA share holders and investors get involed these clowns at Bioware will change some sh** . and if the fans scream loud enough they will hear us

absolutely true, they may not do that, they may say something such as 'we have ME4 planned and it will clear up your questions in the prologue based on your save'...but they have to answer, especially if plenty more folks (and there will be) don't like the poopendings

The EA suits surely won't be pleased with the crap DLC sales this game will surely get. Who wants to buy extra missions which take place during the campaign? The missions will be pointless when you know the outcome is nearly identical no matter what you do. I bought all ME2 DLC because I knew I still played a real role in the outcome, I chose who lived or died based on decisions, and wether or not Cerebrus got the ship etc. In ME3 your only choice is what you want to be bent over for your reaming.

Why do non-japanese people love japanese words so much? I don't get it. I'm only half white and my entire japanese side of the family doesn't do any of this. Even the ones who watch anime.

It goes the other way, too.  There are a ton of English words haphazardly / semi-accurately snagged into Japanese language and even more into slang.

AFAIK, that´s mostly for words that didn´t exist as such in Japanese language, so they took the English version.

I would ROFLcopter all over the place. I think that would be the best kind of irony and I'm hoping for it. Everything they said hinted at you being able to play your Shep post apocalypse and a tied off happy ending in at least one ending.

Well, this just gets better and better... can I get the DLC with the purchase of a ME edition Toyota Camry?

Yes, if they turn around and patch in the ending, it would be oh-so-sweet. 1 to 15 against it though.

It's all based on flags so maybe the flags are slightly off.

I.E. people claiming in the flashback that they can only see Liara, or VS as their LI. That sounds like a major flag issue.

It has to be because there are flashback vids for Ash and Kaiden on the disc as well.  Day 1 patch will probably fix that I would think.

I downloaded the game files since i couldn't find any videos online and watched all .bik files - so far i have to conlude that all the rumors are true. [*spoilers follow->] There are three diferent endings (blue, green, red), though many videos have different names while having the same content in - most visible change is the color of beam that ejected from Citadel after final choice. The problematic seems to be the situation around Normandy which is swallowed by the beam from the Charon relay in every one of ending videos; as well as the situation concerning flashbacks - the are only 5 videos (Anderson, Joker, Liara, Ash, Kaidan) - every one of them lasts only several seconds (basically its just 3s of Anderson noding, Liara smilling respectively, and so on). I personally can't seem find a viable reason for Bioware not implementing others's flashbacks into the game. On the other hand, in my opinion thought, day one patch won't fix those cutscenes (i think so just because i'm sceptical), but it might be possible - all five of those flashback files take only 16 mb in size and last for couple of seconds, so it should not take much work (at least to me it seems that way, but then, why they weren't implemented in the first place?).

I always knew ME wasn't gonna end well the reapers are to powerful an enemy it is going to take something drastic and on a massive scale to stop em and that never ends well.

At the end of the original ME, there was still plenty of room to make the Reapers a powerful threat but not goofy spacegods that can only be stopped with a magic space McGuffin.

They have a huge fleet of huge ships witha dvanced tech that also made the reapers...

And they've been killing all life for millions of years.

It had been made clear that they accomplished their goals through massive surprise and the instant crippling of the leadership and infrastructure of the civilization that grew up in the framework they laid for it, followed by centuries of effort.

ME1 established that this time around, someone had managed to throw a wrench in the works, and things were not going exactly to their little plan.

There was no need to go down the magic space McGuffin road here.

Yeah, no. Not for a while after anyway. I swear every major release of almost every major game has something wrong with it right out of the box.

I'm not opitimistic that there are any new endings but I was also never really concerned with that 23 hour playthrough either.  The game seems to be pretty big.  The IGN guy is probably taking lots of notes and going more slowly too.  It doesn't matter what the game there are always those people who seem to finish 3 times faster than me.

In Star Trek 2 they tried to kill Spock. When Nimoy leaked the script Spock returned. These dumb endings are the usual Hollywood crap. Since video game industry is corrupt I am not amazed.

First off, TWOK's ending wasn't the "usual Hollywood crap." It still moves me. Watching Him and Kirk in Engineering? Still moves me.

Second, Nimoy didn't leak the script.

I was just pointing out that whatever they do moving forward isn't going to be able to match up to every player's experience of their own end game state. And with that in mind why it seemed silly to me that Shepard must be alone no matter what, when you can have a choice on whether every organic sentient is turned into cyborg thingies or not.

They're just going to say this or that happened and be done with it.

That's one way to sell DLC, damn.

Seriously, even just in the RPG world; I love all the following games, but still.

Witcher 2: Crap ending
Deus Ex: HR: Crap ending
Skyrim: Ugly, much better now.

And I dislike this one:

DA2: Crap... uh, almost everything.

I just don't know how they plan on actually doing it so it will be satisfying.  There was a lot of story that could be expanded on for a whole nother game, but if that's the way they want to do it.  Good luck to SE!:wizard:

Hell, I was shocked they even came out with a direct sequel to X in the first place, so I wait with bated breath.  Though I bet spouse will make those endings a day 1 purchase.

"Time travel it's a cornocopia of disturbing concepts".

I really liked the costume switching in X-2. Much more than the sphere grid. First time I played it , I did it "wrong" but once I got the idea of how it worked I found it quite entertaining.

Each one brings something different to the table. Although I found I had to drag myself through XIII because very little (besides Vanille and Fang) appealed to me.

I didn't like how disjointed the narrative was or how clunky the paradigm system felt.

I did like the maturation of Hope in XIII-2.  I still think Snow is a tool however and Serah is very, very naive.  Poor girl.

With you 100% on that one.

You know who holds most of EA's stock?

Mututal funds and other institutional investors. They don't give a rat's ass about the business so long as EA's cash flow statement and balance sheet are good.

The whole system of publically traded shares results a complete failure of the actual concept of ownership.

Do you know anything about the companies that your 401k plan has invested in? Most people invest through intermediaries, like mutual funds, index funds, etc. Unless you are a day trader, you are probably too lazy to properly evaluate a company and go through the fundamentals.

Most investors who hold shares in EA don't know what Mass Effect 3, don't care what Mass Effect 3 is, and don't want to know so long as the project becomes cash flow positive in the aggregate.
