*sigh* people like this should not be allowed to use things like Twitter. I really don't understand the fun or sense of accomplishment of abusing people like that. Sadly this person probably thinks he's really clever and right to do this.

Absolutely.. if you're a phone customer service representative it is both not required and encouraged for you to hang up on the person.. it's actually illegal up here to force a representative employee to be abused by that.  I suspect the same in most places in North America... verbal abuse of a person is borderline harassment.. in this case it could almost be a criminal complaint (I'm sure if I called that sort of thing in and the cops could actually figure out easily who said it they'd at least have one of the desk sargeants make a knock & talk... or even just a phone call.. basically say "Yeah don't be doing this or we might be filing a complaint on you")

This is completely unacceptable.. and I wish there was a report abuse thing on Twitter.. I'd be clicking this 8 different ways at this point.

All you said is true but companies don't want to lose customers, well most normal companies anyways, so such action never occurs. Its the old saying "The customer is always right even when their wrong". So for the company I work for such behavior would never be reported, the most the customer service people can do is hang up. However, if they hang up often they won't keep their job long.

Well, here in Canada.. my part anyway, it's pretty big fines if they break that rule... so it's not worth it... even the government.. and if a customer ever did that to me I'd offer to transfer them to Customer Service and if they wouldn't stop I'd say "Sir you're welcome to call me back when you're ready to approach this professionally" and hang up.

In the UK it is commonly understood that abuse towards customer services staff will be reported to the police and actively prosecuted. How often they do it I don't know but that's the line most companies hold.

I have no problem with Jessica, she seems to genuinely care for the fans. If I had twitter I would join. Although I fully support people respectfully showing Chris's flaws in this situation. The key word there however is "respectfully".

Send Jessica a PM, negative comments are the hardest to forget, but recieving a lot of positive comments can help alleviate some of those negatives.

But most of the time there are better ways of handling the situation. I know there is this one customer who is really bad about being abusive, think he's from New York.  So what they do is when he gets real bad is hang up on him. Basically they hang up on him repeatedly until he is no longer abuse at which point they can help him with his issue without being cussed at. Now this example is vastly different than this, but slamming down the ban hammer seems to be the action of someone who has lost their cool. What I mean by this is it is like a customer service person being screamed at starts screaming right back at the customer.
